  1. So you were playing way outside your limits to start with. If you were winning that much from your original $50 why are you so down on the site? I would be loving the fact I turned $50 into $2000 inside of 1000 hands. I'd be back there in a shot.Ok now the four of a kind grudge you have. You played 1000 hands. Lets say the average is 4 handed, thats being kind I imagine its nearer 6-7. Thats 4000 hands being dealt in that time. Now 10 quads in 4000 hands looks fine to me. Do you know anything about odds?

  2. So let me just get this right, you were playing 10/20 and you lost all your money in the one hand. The next thing you want to know the best place to deposit $20 in to a new site. A full BB to start a fresh, thats smart. If you lost all your bankroll in one hand you were obviously out of your depth and should of kept to the 1/2 tables. Instead of moaning about the beat maybe you should study your play, you must of made a crap preflop bet to let someone in with J-3. Even if you were slowplaying preflop you should embrace the fact people are going to call you all in with nothing more than trip J's with crap kicker. In that situation I want a call every time. As for saying you saw 10 quads, it doesn't mean a thing unless you say how many hands you had played. You play 50 hands? Okay thats way to high a percentage. Did you play 2000? All of a sudden the percentages look ok to me. It 's not some mythical hand that people aspire to, you will see 4 of a kind about once every 100 hands (I think, it's late and I can't remember the exact odds).Get over the beat and keep to limits you can afford/play!

  3. Pokerroom is fine, how else can you play at work if you have no download permissions? On a side note, do any other decent firms offer a java alternative? I get easily bored playing the same site and it's always good working off a bonus at a new place.
pacificpoker.com has a java version, as does pokerrooms skin hollywoodpoker
    Many thanks
  4. I found a couple of good value tourneys, one excellent freeroll and some good guaranteed pools with overlays. The dilemma is should I share this info with friends or clean up on my own? By sharing the info the value diminishes and so not as much value. By not sharing, if my friends find similar games and tell me I feel slightly bad about not keeping them updated of similar events. Oh what to do........

  5. What stakes s'n'g do you play? How do you find the level of play?I've played there a few years now and love the s'n'g structure. Personally I find the level of play at the $25 + $50 reasonably soft, not as easy as Party but less of a crapshoot. The cash games are quite tough at times with some very good players at the 2/4 nl games. I still make a reasonable profit on them but prefer easier pastures.

  6. Interesting idea floating around on a couple of the UK forums. Why not set up a private MTT on Stars with $500 entry. Invite 40 people with a winner takes all prize pool. The winner then has $20k to cover entry fees and expenses. Now for the interesting bit........Every person who enters is also buying a piece of the guy who's gonna play the main event. For example the winner has a 30% stake, the other guys at the final table share another 30%, between themselves, and the other 30 players out share the remaining 40% at staggering intervals depending on when you get knocked out. It means you get a good shot at getting to the WSOP and, even if you don't make it, you still have an interest in the winner of the tourney. What do you think?p.s. I'm not proposing to set this up or play in it, just wondering if you think it's a better idea than chancing the satellites on the net.

  7. Ok so I have been playing online for months now. Tournaments, cash games, sit and goes, everything. I think its rigged.....the cards are not random. I so SO SO many times in large tournaments when big stacks call a small stack's all in and are totally domitnated and yet draw out. Id estimate they draw out with a lesser hand 70%-80%. I was in the Full Tilt 50K this week and we were down to the final 120 and I was at the avg count, and found myself with pocket kings. I raised, got called and then reraised half my stack. It was by the big chipper at the tbl. I almost layed it down thinking hed outdraw me with AK. But i said F it and moved all in. He took his time and called with pocket 88. First card out...an 8...go figure. Its happened to me soooo many times online its crazy. For those who play online a lot, can you vouch for me? Also, the 2nd place finisher in the 75K, called a large preflop raise and caught middle pair 2 4 10, he moves all in and a pro(forgot his name) calls w/ KQ! The pro had a a slight chip lead. ....anyway, there is a 20 sec. pause before the turn and river comes out....(fish?)...turn comes J, river comes A...for the straight...hmmmm
It's called selective memory, get over it. I've been playing online for around 5 years and belive it's clean. Ask yourself why a company that is making millions per year with no risk would put this at risk by rigging the software. As an earlier post stated, it's usually losing players who continually whine in this manner. I'm guessing that what you are!
  8. OK apologies, I didn't mean to infer all MLS players are trash. I still believe it will be a long, long time before MLS teams can compete with teams from the top leagues of Europe. Every top player in the world aspires to play in Europe and will continue to do so. Until MLS can attract the best players and coaches, before they are coming to the end of their career, nobody outside of the U.S. will consider MLS a quality league. That's not meant to be ignorant or dumb it's what I consider to be the truth. You only have to take note of what happens to the best Brazilians and Argentinians, once they make a name for themselves they are bought by a European team. Nor is it a financially goldmine to play in Europe. The top teams may pay very high salaries to the very best players, but Japan and Qatar offer higher wages and can only attract players close to retirement age.

  9. The MLS is not a quality league. It is full of has beens and never will be's. The only quality leagues are played in Europe. Italian, Spanish, English and German, in that order. The majority of players plying their trade in MLS would not get a game in any of the top flights in these countries. Every top player in the world plays in Europe and the Champions League is the best competetion in the world. Technically no player in MLS can match players such as Zidane, Ronaldo, Rooney, Shevchenko, Henry and such. It will take many, many years before MLS comes even close to European standards. In fact the only decent player currently in MLS, Freddy Adu, will probably be playing in Europe within 3-4 years.

  11. VC is part of Tribeca software. They have around 40 different skins including Doylesroom, Goldenpalace and VC. I find the software one of the best out there, it's fast with good graphics. The only thing lacking is hand histories. The ring games have good action and are very profitable. I've played there for around 5 years with excellent results. My only other gripe, aside from no hand histories, is the lack of choice regarding MTT's. They all seem to be rebuys and the blind levels are only 8 mins. The freeroll merchants were a problem when they had 0.10c giveaway s'n'g's and $2 freeroll MTT's running constantly. Those games are no longer there and the connection problems they experienceed as result have ceased. They still have a lot of freerolls but you need to use 'action points', gained by the rake you pay, to enter so it's not that big a problem any longer.Worth checking out for a change of scenary.

  12. Five players all-in pre-flop. All had PP, it was pocket Tens, Jacks, Queens, Kings & Aces, in that order, & each player sat next to each other. It was witnessed by almost the entire card room, because once it was "on their backs", almost everyone came rushing across to our table to see what the fuss was about. And if someone had told me the story, I dont think I would have believed them.So once the fuss had died down, I needed to deal the board. And whilst the guy with AA was clearly favourite, (he was 44% to win, but clear favourite) he was not THAT confident, as any "paint" (bar an A) would beat him, & what was the chance of 5 cards without paint?First card down, came a HUGE roar - it was an A!So Matey Boy with the A, who had been 44% pe-flop, was now 97.7%, against 4 opponents, and it's hard to imagine many situations where anyone could be 97.7% favourite in a 5 way pot.But he never won it!The board came A 5 3 2 4. Split pot! It's fixed, this B & M Game, you know.......Copied and pasted from a UK forum by the dealer of the game. I modified it slightly to remove parts appropiate to other posts.

  13. Maybe im high right nowbut i really dont understand................................THE BOARD READS 4-5-6-7why the hell would the 3 in player 2's hand hold more strength than the 8 in player 2's handokay ready look this guys said (AND I QUOTE AGAIN) THE BOARD READS (NOT WHAT EACH PLAYER HAS IN THEIR HAND)4-5-6-7PLAYER ONE HOLDING X-X-3-7PLAYER 2 IS HOLDING X-X-3-8I DONT CARE IF PLAYER 2 IS HOLDING A LAWN CHAIR .................AS LONG AS THERE IS NO HALLUCINOGENS FLOATING AROUND THE ROOM.........WOULDNT U MUCH RATHER HAVE A STRAIGHT TO THE 8 THAN TO THE 7IM PRETTY SURE I UNDERSTAND HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME.......................THE GUY WHO WROTE THE POST SAID THE 4 WAS ON THE BOARD NOT IN THE KIDS HAND
 I'm speechless, this has to be a wind up. But also the reason that Omaha is an online cash cow ready for milking. There are thousands of players who think you only need to use one card. The amount of times some guy thinks he's been robbed because he had the nut flush while only holding the Ace is unbelievable. If only there was some vast fountain of information they could go to to get all the relevant rules and such. Somewhere only a mouse click away from the comfort of their own room, wait a minute..................
  14. If you're still a novice, why not start at the penny games? It doesn't do any harm to start at the lowest limits. I started my online BR with a $10 deposit and played penny games. You learn the basics, move up a bit and your BR should slowly build with your skill. I'm glad I did that rather than go straight ahead and deposit $100 to play the 0.10/0.25c games.Just a thought.

  15. Hunter was fantastic. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is probably my favourite book ever. Also reccomend Kingdom of Fear which is kind of a biography, it tells stories of the capers he got up to.My favourite story about him is when he ran for sheriff of Aspen. He shaved his head completely bald and refered to his opponent, who had a crew cut, as the long haired hippy. The guy was a genius, R.I.P.

  16. Don't listen to the moron.  Having a player disconnected should have helped him move up in the money, not hurt him.  He has one less player to worry about and dead money in the pot every time that the guy is in a blind.  What happens if you let him take the blinds and you end up going out third because you were nice? You were fine to do what you did.  Moving the guy up into the money is not your job, it's that person's.  Just disregard that guy, you were not being an ass.  Letting him take the blinds to move into the money is theoretically collusion anyway.  The disconnected player sitting out is the same thing as a player just folding every hand hoping to make the money.  If you can't beat a player who folds every hand, you should just shut up.  So don't feel any guilt.  I'd feel more guilty for knocking the guy out who was disconnected, because that guy didn't even have any control over his fate at all.Edit: Just to clarify my last statement, I didn't mean that you should start folding when the disconnected guy was in a blind.  I just meant that between feeling guilty about the one guy who complained about not making the money and the guy who was disconnected, I'd be more inclined to feel sorry for guy number two if he finished out of the money.
No need for the edit I understood what you meant. The collusion statement is one I never thought about and is one I do agree with, TBH I was just after some clarification that other people would have done the same as me. :D
  17. you play poker to take peoples money, tell the clown to grow a set and quit crying.
That was pretty much what I did. It was a $200 game and I think he was playing beyond his BR. He was way to passive and after an easy ride to the money. Pretty much scared money and may explain the whining.
