  1. you're response is definitely a slightly immature one. the issue at hand is a simple one (whether or not you should keep $1,000). now there's two threads about somthing really ridiculous. i don't know why you wouldn't keep it, and so i can't imagine a reason for starting this thread, other than a narcissistic (sp?) one.you respond to people's negative comments with a "i'm so good at poker, and you are not, and so i deserve special rights here." this is the same sort of thinking that a few of our posters have gotten caught up in, and frankly it shines really poorly upon whoever has this attitude.while your accomplishments are something to be really proud of, ranting that people are jealous of you is WAY too boastful in my opinion. it's immature and i think it would be the standard response of a person your age. try to have a little less ego and you'll go a long way and probably be a lot happier. all that stuff about Annette_15 "the number one ranked online player in the world" is the most idiotic thing i've read on this forum in the last two days. anyone whos opinion you should value wouldn't give a **** if you were best friends with abe lincoln. i doubt anyone here cares you have a friend (except for me cause i'm so damn lonely).have fun and best of luck.
I wasn't addressing anybody here; I was addressing those bashing me at Pocket Fives. Notice how nobody else who has had any success in poker on that site bashes me, yet people you've never heard of do nothing but bash me. Those are the people I was talking about.
  2. Dear Mkind,You suck at life and I really hate you. Im not talking about hate like when its raining out and I dont have an umbrella. I mean hate like when I see you your face will be bleeding.Love,Koolkeith13PS I wish you nothing but the worst in your life. Keep stalking and cheating people you filthy cockroach.-koolkeith13What in hell happened with this guy? People complain about the flaming here, but we're a hippie commune in comparison. On the subject of the 1K, I'm going with Beaverstyle. 1K Begament. I'm not giving it back. The guy gave you 1K to make him feel better, you have extra money. Win win.
IDK who this koolkeith guy is -- I've never met him or spoken to him; hell I dont' even think I've ever played him. Nevertheless, this dude is always on my nuts about how horrible I am (despite not knowing anything about me, as 99% of players on P5's do not). As far as what I've found out, he's one of those guys who frequently rails Johnny Bax & Belowabove, but never actually accomplishes anything himself. He's more out to look for acceptance from those higher names in the "hierarchy" of online poker. Therefore, he tries his best to bust on the guy everyone is ganging up on, in hopes that he gets accepted by these people. I think he has certainly taken things a bit too far in that post. In short, I think this guy is a pathetic excuse for a human being, with no goals in life or mind of his own. What it all comes down to is jealousy. I hate saying it b/c it makes me sound like a pompous ******* but I think it's the truth. The vast majority of the people calling me out are people who not only not at my level (poker-wise), but they have accomplished nothing in poker period. They see me as some punk kid who dropped out of school b/c he's kicking *** in poker, while they are getting nothing done. It's not hatred: it's jealousy. Furthermore, many of them are jealous of me for my relationship with Annette_15, the #1 ranked player online. Annette & I are very close friends, and I often have given public acknowledgement to the fact that she is one of the main reasons I am at the level I'm at today. Others who aren't in the know are only left to be wonder: why cant I have a friend like that? It reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons, where Bart & Ralph Wiggum were choosing baseball teams. Bart made his 1st pick of one of the kids; Ralph took Ken Griffey Jr., who was idly walking by. It happened again in the next round where Bart took another kid, and Ralph took Roger Clemens. Bart was noticably upset at his team at this point. Not because he didn't like his teammates, but because he was jealous of the teammates Ralph had. Afterall, Bart had a couple of little leaguers, while Ralph was fielding a team of all-stars! Anyway, this is another reason why there is jealousy towards me: because my "teammate" is an "all-star" (I have many other "all-star" friends that are very well known, but my friendship with Annette is the one talked about most).Thats pretty much my take on things, as to my status on P5's. I am the most scrutinized person on that site, but in most cases, it's jealousy, not hatred. In some ways, I even find it flattering. In others (like this Koolaid guy, or whatever his name is), it's just annoying. Either way, I try not to think about it much anymore.
  3. So earlier today I was HU in the 100r on Stars, when this hand occurred to end it:PokerStars Game #9356071566: Tournament #47143707, $100+$9 Hold'em No Limit - Level XVIII (6000/12000) - 2007/04/10 - 18:43:14 (ET)Table '47143707 19' 9-max Seat #1 is the buttonSeat 1: mkind0516 (323577 in chips) Seat 8: Tulkaz (698923 in chips) mkind0516: posts the ante 600Tulkaz: posts the ante 600mkind0516: posts small blind 6000Tulkaz: posts big blind 12000*** HOLE CARDS ***mkind0516: raises 18000 to 30000Tulkaz: raises 85000 to 115000mkind0516: raises 207977 to 322977 and is all-inTulkaz: calls 207977*** FLOP *** [3c 3h 7d]Tulkaz said, "nh"*** TURN *** [3c 3h 7d] [5s]*** RIVER *** [3c 3h 7d 5s] [2c]*** SHOW DOWN ***Tulkaz: shows [5h 5c] (a full house, Fives full of Threes)mkind0516: shows [Th Ts] (two pair, Tens and Threes)Tulkaz collected 647154 from pot*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 647154 | Rake 0 Board [3c 3h 7d 5s 2c]Seat 1: mkind0516 (button) (small blind) showed [Th Ts] and lost with two pair, Tens and ThreesSeat 8: Tulkaz (big blind) showed [5h 5c] and won (647154) with a full house, Fives full of ThreesObv brutal. I then look in the chat box and see this:Tulkaz [observer]: ok 4 you if I send you 1000 for the beat ?mkind0516 [observer]: lol suremkind0516 [observer]: ty tulk, very good gesturemkind0516 [observer]: ggI did not ask for this: the gentleman offered me this outta the goodness of his heart. So he did send me the $1000 (for the record, the difference between 1st & 2nd was about $7k real money). I thought it was a very nice gesture on his part. I've been running horrendously lately and this was my 1st major final table in quite some time, so I appreciated his gift. I didn't really think much of it, otherwise. However, as is usual with me, everything I do is under a microscope. Therefore, there was a thread on that OTHER site moments later about this. Within minutes, the thread was flooded with people ripping me apart for keeping the money. Now, these people never liked me to begin with, and I'm not sure if they are genuine or if they are just busting my balls. I would like some unbiased opinions though:If you were in my situation, would you keep the money or would you send it back to him?

  4. It's on my agenda. I don't think it overlaps w/ Paris, since thats in early May this year.As for the trip, the main events will be $2500 & $1k (w/ some $500 $ $300's on the other days), so I'll prob just buyin direct. For those who can't afford that, I don't know much about their side action/satellites. When I went, they had nothing higher than 2/5 NL or 5/10 limit running, so the cash games weren't worth my time to try out. However, I did see a buncha players I played with in the tournies, and the play there is just attrocious. If you played really solid and didn't get outta line, you can probably do well in those games.

  5. Who the hell is Juan Carlos Alvarado? I've never heard of him, but I think I'm going to go out on a limb and be the first person on this forum to pick him to win tonight. I just have a feeling about this guy.
He plays online as "prtypsux". He's had some sick live results in the last year: 6th in a WSOP $2500 prelim, won a $1500 prelim in Bahamas (not covered by Card Player for some reason), 2nd in a $2500 prelim in the LAPC, 13th or so in the LAPC main event, and now is 2nd in chips in the final 6 in Reno. He knows what he's doing out there, and I hope for everyone else's sake, they don't underestimate him.
  6. I;m pretty sure anyone can rail the ft. Latest chip counts:Chip Count - 2007 World Poker ChallengePlace Name Chip Count 1 David The Dragon Pham 852,000 2 JC Alvarado 755,000 3 Mark Seif 652,000 4 JC Tran 590,000 5 Danny Wong 375,000 6 Fred Hwang 330,000 7 Erick Lindgren 266,000 8 Jimmy Diep 265,000 9 John Hom 245,000 10 Brent Bibby 185,000 11 Kirk Morrison 134,000 12 Brad Helm 85,000

  7. I've seen JC pull some sick bluffs before. This one from the $2500 prelim at the LAPC will always stand out to me:With blind 500/1000/100, this talkative Asian dude in LP makes it 3500. The guy has around 100k to start the hand and is playing very aggro. He seems like a total nut, who will not shutup. JC is in the BB w/ 115k to start the hand, calls. On a flop of Qh-Td-6h, JC check/calls a 6k bet. The turn is the Th, pairing the board and putting the flush card out. JC checks and the guy instantly bets 18k. JC then moves AI for around 75k. The Asian guy thinks for about 10 minutes. Keep in mind, these 2 were 2 of the top 5 stacks in the room and the next one out does not get paid. Finally, the guy folds. JC stands up and proudly shows 6s 9h for bottom pair, and rakes a massive pot. Needless to say, the Asian dude went on severe tilt after the hand and was left speechless.

  8. i haven't read any other post in this thread, but all i have to say isHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHArunningawayfromyourpastaments
Well I guess it would've been naive to think they're wouldn't be any haters
  9. This reminds me of a hand I played in a $500 tourney at Turning Stone last month in which I wanted to turn the table over on the guy, but instead decided to mentally out fox him:Blinds 100/200, I have 4500 in BB. 3 MP limpers + sb come in. I have A8o in the BB. I have just been moved to this table but have seen frequent limps from these players and don't figure any of them for big hands. I pop it up to 1200. The 1st limper folds; the 2nd once looks at me weird and raises to 2700. In the midst of an argument. I started staring at the guy to see if I could get anything off of him. After about 20 seconds he says to me "You know I'm not much into the staring game....call the clock on him." The guy and I start getting into an argument about what a ****** he was. By his body language, I was pretty sure he was very uncomfortable about the situation. I used up the entire "timebank" before moving all-in (despite knowing he was pot committed). Sure, even if I'm right, I'm probably not that far ahead, but I did it b/c I didn't want to let this guy off scott free and I wanted to send him a message who the boss was. Sure enough, he was making a move w/ 79s, an A flopped, and I doubled up.
