You have to raise that flop, If he calls I bet the pot on the turn, check behind him on the river when the ace hits.

Jennifer Tilly, she checks full houses don't ya know!

Not a very good episode. They need a lineup change. I can only take so much of Farha, Elezra, Safai, Gold and Baxter. Also Galfond would crush this game long term. Im surprised he didnt call with the QQ that one hand either because he was against Sammy but then against he still had Eli behind him and calling may not stop Sammy from making a big bet on the river. Sometimes the cards can make you look like a nit and other times make you look like a lunatic. Galfonds online reputation seems to be one of a calling station when compared to other top online players, but then again when your sitting next to all the LAGtards at this table most good lags are gonna look nitty too. Hell look at Daniel if you only had last nights episode to go on, people would say hes a nit too just because he didnt play many hands.[/quotetalk is cheap... lets see how he does next episode, I just expected a few moves from a guy who rates himself as the best holdem player in the world as stated in Inside Poker Magazine, not a weak play with QQ allowing a player like Farha to take it away so easy!

considering your opponent I don't see how you can dump this hand
-
I wouldn't take this line.. I would keep ploughing into this hand at about pot or just under pot sized bet unless a spade comes outI like the lead bet on the flop. I would check the turn trying to induce the C/O to bet. If the C/O bets I would raise about 3 to 3 1/2 times his bet. I wouldn't bet the turn there because too often with that board and showing strength on the flop and the turn will cause the C/O to fold there. If the other player re-raises you there depending on the read I would probably dump the hand, and if he called I would proceed with caution on the river. -
edit: just won a sit & go live game with my mates & collected £70 ($140) dollars so the day ends sweetjust lost 4 and feel sick....especially since I literally threw the last 2 away I got so tilted. A break for a couple of days me thinks! -
not really, I have position and think I can out play 2/3 of players at these stakes post flop, so no I don't think it's too loose!Erm, isn't that a loose call PF? -

Just wondering how many you normally stop at if it's been a day where nothing goes right? For me it's 4...

So much for Phil Galfond's big talk..... He stated that the high stakes game was like a $5/10 NL online game in terms of skill level and that he was really annoyed that he was kept out of the $500,000 buy-in game in favour of another player, no suprise there then, he makes Phil Laak look loose!

yeah.. I instantly shoved, however the guy had AQ offsuit & his hand held up but I was pleased with my play. Thanks for the reply's.

Greenstein for being a pimp & Doyle for hustling $1,000,000 from DN at golf!

Anyone catch this weeks episode? www.nbcsports.com/poker Could the presenter with the jugs be any less interested during her interviews with Greenstein & also when Brunson makes an appearance on set. Once she has asked her question they offer some insight into how the hand is playing out and she seems totally lost... hilarious!!! Nice rack though!!

ok, here's what went down....My honest read on the villian was that he was making a play with a possible scared rag ace but representing he had a Q, I called his all-in bet and he showed A A Simple truth is he outplayed me during this hand & throughout most of the session (although he was hitting a lot). Could I have layed this down had I not already been felted by this guy? Possibly but doubtful...Thanks for the reply's...

I can't believe nobody has mentioned how glorioulsy bad Sammy Farha is playing.. the guy is a complete donk & already down $300k. I bet Doyle, Barry & Patrik were literally rubbing their hands together before the $500,000 buy in game at the thought of Gold & Farha sitting...

lol @ absolutely sick spot.

depending on the villians image, I don't see how you really get away from this, he could have a set but it's a tough fold after you raise $8.6.

I have seen about 75 hands at this 6 player table, The villian is a tricky player & has been playing back at me relentlesly over the past 20 hands or so... my read is that he is catching a few cards but he correctly hasn't been giving me credit on my continuation bets & drawing hands bets.....the following hand came up, please critique#Game No : 6391627327 ***** Hand History for Game 6391627327 *****$25 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Sunday, October 07, 14:27:50 ET 2007Table Table 126982 (Real Money)Seat 6 is the buttonTotal number of players : 6 Seat 1: johnny3857 ( $44.58 USD )Seat 2: Hero ( $42.56 USD )Seat 4: Wendyx25 ( $38.83 USD )Seat 3: plaggy77 ( $29.84 USD )Seat 5: gymnocalysiu ( $4.90 USD )Seat 6: grayzon3 ( $27.93 USD )johnny3857 posts small blind [$0.10 USD].Hero posts big blind [$0.25 USD].** Dealing down cards **Dealt to Hero [ Qc Ks ]plaggy77 foldsWendyx25 raises [$1 USD]gymnocalysiu foldsgrayzon3 foldsjohnny3857 foldsHero calls [$0.75 USD]** Dealing Flop ** [ 6c, 7c, Qd ]Hero checks>You have options at Table 125559 Table!.>You have options at Table 125559 Table!.Wendyx25 bets [$2 USD]Hero raises [$5 USD]Wendyx25 raises [$9 USD]Hero?

Against this player I don't see how you could have played it any differently, I take it he had a house with 44 or 66?
-
Just what I was thinking, I doubt the 5 helped the villian on the turn so lets put in a decent sized bet like $12/14. As played easy call on the river! What is everyone's opinion on the turn bet? If he bets this properly then there is no real decision to be made.
