  1. Craigdog movin' up in stakes! I like it.I just read (or heard) somewhere that in situations like this where it's really really close, it's obviously not a big deal either way since the EV of the situation is so close to neutral that you can't really make a wrong decision. So, if you wanna gamble, you probably have 15 outs, but since I've seen people play sets like this A LOT, I'm just gonna dump it here.
yeah, I was beating the $0.10/0.25 game so I stepped when i got my roll to $1250 and I'm not playing scard which is good so hopefully I'll continue to move up steadily. In this hand I was a little tilted as mentioned so felt like gambling, both the turn and river were blanks and he turned over a set of Jacks winning $111 which would have been my biggest pot ever, but it's a hand that kinda plays itself so Im not too upset.
  2. Partypoker: $0.25/0.50 Blinds NL Holdem:Hero is BB $63.53Villian is Button $56.51No reads on villian other than he hasn't got out of line in a pot against me. My image is definately aggressive but I'm having one of those days where I keep getting rivered and although I shouldn't let it it's starting to effect my play in all honesty.Hero is dealt: A :D K :club: Folds to button, button raises $2, SB Folds, Hero raises to $5.75, Button calls.Pot: $11.75Flop: J :D 9 :D 2 :D Hero bets: $6, Button Pushes all-in $50.51, Hero?

  3. I have just over $1020 and have been playing $0.10/0.25 for about 6 weeks now (since moving up from $0.05/0.10)... During this period I have won about $400 so I believe I am generally beating the game. My question is, should I stick at these stakes for a longer period of time or take a shot now? I would welcome advice from guys who have been in the same position..

  4. Thanks for the reply's guys, some interesting strategy's discussed. I played this hand disgusting and made two clear mistakes... here is what happened.I check called the flop for a $1.50 bet, the turn came :D again I checked called a $3 bet, the river came :D I think this was my oppertunity to put in a pot size bet and represent a K, but I just checked & villian checked behind and showed me :club::D to win the pot.

  5. Party Poker: 6 Players $0.10/0.25 Blinds NL HoldemHero has TAG image and has seen about 4-5 orbits with little to note apart from a couple of late position raises & Cont bets won. No particular read on the villian.Hero $26.35Villian $26.10Hero is BB with A :D J :D MP1 folds, Villian Raises to $1, CO Folds, Button folds, SB folds, Hero calls $0.75.Flop: A :D K :club: 10 :D I don't like calling raises OOP, but AJ suited is a nice hand to see a flop with but this is a tricky board, what is the best approach in this spot? ( I will get a few reply's then continue to next stage of the hand)

  6. Yeah, as has already been stated the only real problem with this hand is the size of the flop and turn bets.
Make a mental note to continuation bet that flop with at least 2/3 the size of the pot and again on the turn. If you keep playing strongly like this you will crush the really small micro limit games. You will get more action from your big hands and opponents will over play top pair against you.
  7. lol.. I just called the raise, the turn was a blank, BB checks, Hero checks, Button pushes, BB raises (minimum), Hero folds. River is another blank, BB shows AJ, Button shows KJ. The reason I originally posted was because I wasn't sure if I had misplayed the hand and not raised on the flop, but after reading all the posts I'm sure my decision was correct.
