  1. I'm in two keeper leagues which i placed in 1st and 2nd last year. All braggin aside I'm likin my teams besides one of them autopickin for a few rounds cuz I worked late. 1st team is ppr (12 team) and 2nd team starts 2 Qbs (10 team), both award Return yards.Keepers ( I could only keep four and no doubles at position ) P Rivers Chris Johnson R Wayne J Finley The Rest ( in no particular order ) P Thomas, J Maclin, Caddillac Williams, D Mccluster, S Smith(car), L Washington, V Young, Mike Williams (TB) Dallas Def/special teams L Mckelvin for a DB, R Edwards for a DL, and K Morrison for a LB 2nd team Keepers (at least 2 Def and no more than two at any position 9 total) Brett Favre (whom i got to keep withholding if he retired i kept Stafford) Big Ben (whom i kept cuz we hadda choose keepers the day after superbowl) Chris Johnson J Charles Calvin Johnson L Fitzgerald K Winslow J Laurinitis O Atogwe The Rest ( again in no particular order ) Alex Smith, J Harrison, Caddillac Williams, Dez Bryant, Ricky Williams, Matt Moore, Mike Williams (TB), Andre Carter, and Antonio Cromartie (whom I think will benefit lots from being the only place to travel other than Revis Island) Whaddya think of my teams and who should i start at WR along with Reggie Wayne on my First team Maclin, Mccluster, Williams, or Smith???

  2. Suh could slip to 5 now. Depends if TB like Mccoy better. Could go 1. Bradford 2. Okung 3. Mccoy 4. Clausen(another Wasington epic fail) 5. Suh
I can believe Suh would fall that far. people are scared of taking a defensive tackle at #1. whoever gets him will be very lucky.
The only thing that is leading some to believe that Mccoy is the better tackle is because he's a 3 technique undertackle which are much harder to find and therefore more valuable. Suh is more of a nose tackle which are more of a Runstuffer take on multiple blockers position. However considering Suh put up better numbers than Mccoy as a nose tackle speaks volumes about his abilities. I have no doubt in my mind that TB would take Suh over Mccoy (his pathetic showing at the bench press notwithstanding),... I do agree that it could go Bradford then Okung though.
  3. Long time to the draft and if a qb impresses at the combines the Rams might go in that direction. It always seems that the concensus number 1 at this time of the year doesnt end up going number 1. Rams and Detroit need alot of help and should seriously concider a package for their picks.
Very true however Suh likely will get picked up by the Bucs if not Lions otherwise. They definitely would not make a chargers - Manning type deal to someone in their own division probably not even in the NFC. How about pick up Suh and give him to the Browns for Cribbs and either QB or some picks?
  4. Critical playoff decision!! I have one WR spot and one WR/RB flex spot open. pick em. Antonio Bryant vs Seattle Houshmanzadeh vs Tampa Bay (burleson apparently is out now) Steve Breaston vs Detroit (I think he's a lock to start at WR if fitz don't play,... its why i picked him up) Arian Foster vs St. Louis (picked him up cuz kubiak named him tha absolute starter)THX for tha help

  5. Is it time to just flat out drop McFadden? I don't think he's going to do anything this year. In my opinion if he was going to have a big game against the Texans is when that would happen and he rushed for -3 yards. I'm sure no one is willing to give anything up for McFadden. Anybody agree with me that McFadden is droppable at this point?
I'm wonderin that myself i picked him up in both my leagues thinkin he was due and i got what i thought was great value for him late. both my leagues are keepers tho so what do you guys think? I'm thinkin to hold out till he's back and hope there's a qb change by then and see what happens.
  6. Sit Desean, Ginn, and either Housh or Breaston. Start everybody else. The Housh call is tough b/c Seneca Wallace is awful, but at least he's the no. 1. I'd start Breaston instead.Start Rivers over Schaub. Houston will be able to run on Jacksonville, so I don't think Schaub has a huge game (plus, Walter might be out again). Manning put up nice numbers on the Dolphins with only 15 minutes of possession; the Chargers have a better D than the Colts, so I'd expect even more drives for Rivers. For one of my leagues: I have to start two of: Adrian Peterson, Clinton Portis, Fred Jackson. Portis has a great matchup vs. Detroit, and it's difficult to think about benching Peterson; but everybody is predicting Jackson to go off this week.Maybe I'll try and move him for WR help.
I agree with starting rivers but it was close so I wanted to hear someone else say it. As far as the other starts I can only start three Rb's and thats if i designate one to the flex spot and i have to start three wide receivers. I'm thinkin reggie wayne and Desean (apparently he's fine and curtis ain't) for Wr's and i'm thinkin clifton smith, and Sproles for sure for Rb. So that leaves 1 Wr spot, and 1 W/R flex open with Ginn, Housh, Breaston, Chris Johnson, Darren Mcfadden to choose from with those 2 spots. I like the Jackson start cuz the only way buffalo stands a remote chance is by keepin the ball outta Brees' hands thereby giving Jackson one last final bid for carries before Lynch's suspension is up. That motivation should propel his game and I think Peterson's got a tweaked back which may limit his touches.
  7. One particular league i'm in has some pretty high scoring settings. Rb's and Wr's get 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving yards, 0.5 pts per reception, 6 pts per touchdown and 10 pts per 100 yard milestones for rushing/receiving. They also get 1 pt per 20 return yards and 5 pts per 100 return yard milestones as well as 6 pt return td's. We start 1 Qb, 1 Te, 3 Wr's, 2 Rb's, and 1 W/R flex. The rest of the positions involve defense and i'm set at what i'm gonna do there. Should I start Philip Rivers hosting miami or Schaub hosting jacksonville? I picked up clifton smith and think i'll put him in somewhere's cuz i think the g-men will score lots and smith might even reach 200 return yards. So what combination of RB's and WR's should i start? I have Desean Jackson, Ted ginn jr, Reggie Wayne, Houshmanzadah, Steve Breaston, Chris Johnson, Darren Sproles, Darren Mcfadden, and clifton smith

  8. That's hilarious. For the last few years I have gone into my drafts with the expectation of taking 2 WR's in the first 3 rounds, and every year some RB slips too far and I am forced to take RB-RB. So, I have the exact reputation you described but really it has been a circumstantial thing.Meh, I don't hate rookie WR's just don't care for Murphy's situation. From what I understand Schilens is supposed to be ahead of him on the depth chart and last I heard he should be back in the next couple of weeks.
Don't take those last comments as an attack on your integrity in any fashion. You're gonna pick value wise and if that means goin rb rb than so be it, I do it too when conditions determine so. I'm still on board with bennett bein a better pick up at this time, However if Murphy has another solid game this week than I expect him to surpass Schilens on tha depth chart.
  9. So, who to start at flex WR/RB?Willie Parker (vs. Bears)Jonathan Stewart (vs. Falcons)Mario Manningham (vs. Cowboys)I think I might go with Stewart.
I'm kinda leanin towards stewart as well because of the hammy thing and the fact that delhomme's confidence is shattered therefore a spike in RB touches ain't outta tha question
Thanks, I put in for Earl Bennett or Laurent Robinson. I just don't trust rookie WR's especially with retards throwing to them.
Bennett is a solid pick up for sure and i'm pretty sure Meacham is entering the " 3rd year Breakout" season. Speaking of which I think nowadays you can trust rookie WR's more. That rookie WR curse i'd say is dated, especially when an injury or weak corps opens up a spot for a high rounder (I was pleading my case last year when being ridiculed for spending a midlate pick on desean). Washington's injury leaves a chance for Britt to make an impact and it seems the titans are willing to let him deliver. Murphy has a chip on his shoulder considering his Teammate Harvin was a first rounder as well as his main competition, Heyward-bay. He's gonna try his damnest to be that colston style late round steal and outperform those two and Russell is lookin his way lots. Remember the Raiders usually need to throw to catch up. I just don't understand tha mistrust under those conditions. I guess there will always be those guys that will never trust rookie wr's just like there will always be those guys that always draft two rb's first.
  10. Doesn't matter IMO, Chambers could be the 2nd receiver on the team and always be getting the 3rd look since both of their decent backs can catch as well. If you have a better option that's sure pickup, go with it.
I agree and would have to suggest Louis Murphy. He has apparently grown a repore with russel and was targeted 9 times. Until someone else steps up to be a number 1 guy there i think he is it, depending on rule interpretation that could go either way he could of had a 2 td game. Kenny Britt also intrigues me and Robert Meachem is a good pick up if you get return yards as well
  11. Roeth and Favre for me...give the rookie a week on the bench and see what he can do. If this is a start 2 QB league you definitely waited a bit too long to grab a QB :club: I did a similar strategy in our startup dynasty draft (waiting on QB). But I still got Matt Ryan and Roeth in the late rounds as my 1/2 punch.
Yea I'll do that and ben worked out for me last night (thank god sacks don't count negative in this particular league). I know it's way early but i'm just curious as to which order do you place next year's crop out of Bradford, Mccoy, Tebow, and Snead. My main motivation for waiting was because they'll probably go next year and Brees and Brady were picked b4 my first pick.
Not only should you put in Rice this week, I would posit that with Rice and Benson on the team, you should never start McFadden unless you land yourself with two BYEs at the same time or someone gets hurt.Quick question, folks, I have a team in a league that's QB/3WR/TE/RB/RB-WR flex. Who do I start in the RB/WR flex spot: Addai or Mike Bell?
I would go with bell cuz i'm sure NO will be up lots early and they'll be running out tha clock whilst perserving Bush, also tha jags always seem to play tha colts tough. Also who do you people think has more upside Hakeem Nicks or Kenny Britt? I was thinking Nicks to take over tha Burress loss but after last night seeing Britt go for 85 (and what woulda been another 40 and score if it weren't for Polamau's pick), I'm kinda likin Britt cuz tha titan's seem to open up tha play action deep shot often enough. They sure seemed like they were targeting him. I've got Nicks in one of my leagues whom i picked up quite late and i picked up Britt with my second last pick on both leagues
  12. I'm in two keeper leagues one of which just started this year and the setup is dressing 2 qbs each week. Considering it's a keeper league i picked up on great younger and still in prime wr' such as fitz, and megatron. I also picked up chris johnson, the problem is while i was doing this everyone else was goin crazy on qb's in the first three rounds. I just kept with my game plan cuz it's ppr and there is some good qb's in next years draft and so i ended up with big ben, farve, and stafford as my qb's. So the question i'm posing is which two to dress for week 1? Stafford being named the starter intrigues me goin against NO considering they will be quite behind so should i sit farve? possibley sit ben??? any thoughts?

  13. I'm in a keeper league and we get to keep 4 guys and no more than one at any position. I'm keeping philip rivers and chris cooley and most likely chris johnson over marion barber but am at loss at what to do at receiver. I have Braylon Edwards, Desean Jackson, and Steve Breaston. My league is 0.5 ppr and gives points for return yards so i'm leaning towards Desean for that and qb stability but if boldin moves i kinda like steve however every rating has braylon as top dog of those three. I think K2 being gone will hurt him more than anything. Sooooo any thoughts???

  14. Then the space-time continuum would have folded the year 2004 onto the year 2003 and the universe would have exploded (it'd be the year the Leafs win the cup incidentally), making the question irrelevant.
oops ,... what if I didn't take my drunken pens fan friend's word on all pens related things as truth
  15. So my company runs this playoff pool every year and you can enter as many times as you like. I generally do well in it but haven't won (I have however won the regular season pool). You can choose any 14 forwards, 6 defencemen, one goalie, and one dark horse. The dark horse will be voided if any one else has picked him in their regular or dark horse pick. I usually finish high with my strategy of picking the top scorers on the 4 teams i think will be in the conference finals, so I figured I would let a poll decide those 4 teams and you can post who you'll think a good dark horse will be and maybe some players you think under achieved in the regular season but will shine in the 2nd season. I must have my picks in by Thursday morning. The fee is only 25 bucks so I figured I'll do my team and create an FCP team which I'll keep you posted on results. Of course if team FCP wins I'll get to keep the winnings. Also,... Does Anyone know of a betting site where I can put some cash down ( preferably from visa ) on any given team to win it all or make the finals?

  16. It's been forever and a day since I've posted but I couldn't help myself since I love Guinness.I'm quite surprised that I have yet to see Stella Artois on Tap. I don't much care for the bottled stuff but the stuff on tap has a completely different taste and is always the first thing I ask if they have unless of course it's st. paddy's. I understand that these are mostly darker ales and stouts but I believe there is also a placefor beach beer ( I just can't hack a thick drink in tha hot weather on the beach ). I have a few faves but won't turn this post into a "these are the beers that should be in here" post. Great thread
