Best Laydown Ever? Or Best Bluff Ever?
Gus_Herbert replied to TareqB's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Bet the flop for information. But in the end - Pay it off.Nevertheless I admire your careful analysis throughout the hand, and Aces full is a possibility. I don't think A J was, or A K. It was either Aces full, or napkins. But the check-raise all in on the river, is a pretty damn strong move, it takes a lot of heart to bluff all in on that. In conclusion, It worked out really well for you. You made a possible AMAZING LAYDOWN and it led to people bluffing off chips to you. And Bam! You had a good night, so be happy with your results and keep playing welll.butttttt everyone else is right, you go -
Edit to add: BTW, the A9 caller was getting 3.1:1 on the call. With 2 cards to come he was still getting the right price to call.Yeah he was. Thats why I wish I had more $$ on the table so I could have pushed him out and not given him a chance to call for 3.1:1 odds. Nevertheless the preflop call for $35 with A 9 offsuit was pretty wild don't ya think? After the flop he was stuck playing the marginal hand for a lot of $$.And Man, **** BR Management, come to the casino and try your luck. Play for a good time. There is nothing like playing live and winning good pocket change at the sino. Throw $

It depends on your style of play. There are many options.I'm going to use your example of Ac Kh(A-K offsuit) on the button and then I will share my thoughts on general $5.50 SNG stratedgy.Option 1 - Tight-aggressive squared - re-raise all in preflop. This is an interesting option. You are playing in a $5.50 sit and go, do you think many people care much about $5.50?! The answer is no. You would be surprised how many times you re-raise all in with A K offsuit and someone will call you with a lesser had Like - A Q offsuit and down, and hands like A 5 suited, KQ, and your worst situation a pocket

Your probably right. I should have stepped back here, maybe played some $5 tournements to analyse my game cheaply. Perhaps more self-analysis and review of hand histories really is a good idea. So I can see stupid moves I'm making, etc. Playing easier tournements and less buy in would reduce the pressure and give a moral boost to my game. Although I have the most fun playing for the most money. Thanks for the good advice. Cheers.-Gus

Yeah I was going to purchase The Harrington series with my FPPS eventually. I just acquired silverstar, so my FPPS really rack up and I get lots of free stuff, its nice. But I own and have read:Super SystemTheory of PokerAce on the RiverCaros Book of Poker TellsPerhaps I should read Harrington or some books pertaining to online play???But I have had success online in the past, A broad general claim is it's just such a different game because It's harder to bluff at times and people have a hard time getting away from starting hands. Thanks for the condolences. You can relate because well, your the

I recently went bust this week losing my small yet hard-earned bankroll (pokerstars) of $1300.00 over about a months time.I play a lot of $20, $30, and $10 Sit and Goes. Mostly multi table No Limit Holdem Tourneys as of late; although I am competent at all games.I missed a lot of big draws this week and I lost my last $5 on a 22 outer open end straight draw, flush draw, with a pair.I consider myself fairly adament at reading other players, but I am also a person who relies heavily on odds and plays my big draws aggressively. My friend poker player just told me that it is better to play against
