  1. You have to take a back with your first pick. At #4, he's not going to pick again for another 12 picks. If the guys drafting know what they are doing, picking the wrong guy at #1 can screw his whole draft.
depends on the roster positions. if there are 3 WRs and a W/T position I would definitely go with Harrison or Steve Smith. But if 2rbs and only 2WRs, then a top running back is a good option too.
  2. up to 8 teams anyone else want in?
Im in, thx for the invite.I got a couple of friends who would prob play. One guy follows all his leagues all the time and i send u his email. The other guy, I wanted to check with him first to see if a) he was off work that day, and B) if u still needed extra players.let me know,Loopie
  3. Their opinions are wrong.
Opinions are usually good, bad, or indifferent......not necessarily "wrong". It is difficult to pinpoint one "right" answer concerning poker.
this belongs in bad beat forum.we need stack sizes.how many tournies do you play before you stop posting things like "Did I play it wrong when someone with bottom pair crap kicker calls off half his stack."don't give resultspost stack sizes as well.
It was a head-up situation and the guy included raising the other player half of his stack on the flop. Also, he was knocked out on this hand, which would mean stack sizes were fairly equal but he was covered. My "wrong" opinion is still raise him all-in on the flop instead of raising him half his stack.
  4. The people above are wrong. The decision totally depends on stack sizes. Also, 60% of his hands 4-handed isn't crazy at all.And raise preflop.
Maybe there is more than one good answer for any question. Different opinions doesn't mean that people are "wrong". There just opinions.
  5. I dunno, getting involved for all your chips with just top-pair when on the bubble is risky. Pre flop raise is OK, but you gotta make the money!
Top pair vs. one player on the flop is a strong hand.......so play it strong. Likewise, AJ is a stronger hand short handed which could validate a raise pre-flop.
  6. Since you got Peyton Manning, why not go with Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne? That way every time they hook up for a completion or TD or however your league does points, you get points out of both of them.
I kinda like this theory, can't go wrong with Harrison. Steve Smith may be the best WR available if u go that route. I like this WR play here because you can then look to go rb-rb in the 4th and 5th round. 3rd round go for another top wr like Reggie Wayne or Galloway. Sleeper rbs that will fall to 4th and 5th round are Mike Bell and Deshaun Foster. These two guys have chance to put up some monster numbers this year and will allow u to get two top WRs....
  7. few questions to ponder:Why if the baseball hits the foul pole it's a fair ball? Why does your nose run, and feet smell? Thought it was suppose to be the other way around. And is promoting SPAM considered SPAM?

  8. Just wondering if i played this right.I'm in a $10 sng and theres 4 people left. I get dealt AJ two other people in the hand so I call the blinds. A96 comes out on the flop and one guy in the hand is very tight and he checks but the other guy in the hand has played about 60% of his starting hands and he bets so i figure he has nothing because ive seen him do this the entire sng so i raise him about half his stack. He calls then a 7 comes out on the turn. I go all in and he calls and shows 67...two pair and i lose on the bubbleDid i play this right? I read him right when i raised, he had low pair with 7 kicker. Was I wrong to go all in on the turn ?
Since raising pre-flop wasn't your question, I won't offer my view on that.Instead, after reviewing your question, I believe you should have raised him all in on the flop. Raising him half is stack is daring him to call. With only 4 players remaining, make him pay all his chips for his draw or to hit his second pair.
  9. If all you have is $50 then there really isn't anything worth managing. Get a part time job and save your money. It wouldn't take much at all to build a roll that way.
This may be the way because scared money never wins. But if your niche is dollar sitngos then more power to ya. But it is difficult playing any cash game with such a limited bankroll.
  10. this is a vent thread just so you know. i'm at majestic last night and i was making great read's on players. example me AKoff loose player calls my 25 with i thought aj, j10, kq, or small pair. flop j73 rainbow he leads 30, I call. turn x, he bets 40, put him on weak J, I call. the river is a queen he leads 50, I raise to 150 theory being I know queen beats him. but instead he thinks and says " i know you have a queen but i have to call" Why, why do these players always feel so pot commited. Now I know in most cases I want this guy in a hand with me, but this disturbing trend of players who flop someting feel so pot commited onthe river. Later a guy a floped a straight and I called his flop bet because there was 2diamonds. The turn was a diamond I pushed "I floped it I have to call" why does he have to call. yes i feel like i out payed these guys, but i didnt because they call me (not because they knew i was bluffing, that i can live with) i ask you, are these bad plays? But I'm happy with the way I played just do I to have to be a rock more often to get paid off. Sorry for such a long thread, I feel like I have been playing great but keep running into cooler nights.

  11. Ugh, shortstack strategy blows.Make real money. Play full buyin NL for $5 then.I don't see what you are arguing about, it's not like he's due to make more money by playing $25 NL with $5 than if he were to play $5 NL with $5.It just boils down to your desire to have everyone play shortstack strategy.Frankly, playing deeper means that skill wins out more quickly, and luck has less of an effect.- Zach
short stacked play is good for a limited bankroll. Of course, to maximize u should put the full table limit up. But in this guys case we are talking about $50 total!!!!! And Im not arguing, just stating my opinion. Some day u might wanna get off ur high horse.
  12. Click my link.Try the search function.Start with a dictionary and find the definition of the term "equity".After that, go back to the general poker forum, where you apparently belong.- Zach
Again, u offer no expertise of your own.
  13. I'm not wasting my time on you.ChrisRichey explained pretty well why playing $25 NL on a $50 bankroll is a bad idea.If you don't understand that after "10 years of experience", then you never will.
my impression of u is that u are barely old enough to drink. you offer no advice, just criticize others......ur worth is limited.
  14. This is bad advice. .10/.25 PL/NL tables usually have a max buy-in of $25. So, that gives him two buy-ins. With ten years of experience, you would think that you would know a little more about bankroll management. Though the juice is pretty high on the $1 sng's, they will help you gete acclimated to online poker. Other than that, Stars does have .01/.02 NL, with a max buy-in of $5. The play is horrible, but do a search for the Smash strategy. It kills at micro limits, really. Last summer I turned $25 into $150 playing micro limit nlhe on UB.
Just because the max buy-in is $25, doesn't mean you have to put $25 down. With a limited $50 bankroll, $5 is enough to get into the game and try and make some money. No need to buy-in for the max with a tiny bankroll. My point here is to make money and at the same time risk little. So this is a good time to play short stacked and double off the big stacks just like a tournament.
  15. WASSUP FCP'ers...So here's the thing. I've been on a dry spell for quite some time now. I lost about $1300 in the last month. Today i start a new journey. First off I'm starting with $100, $50 on UB and Stars. I'm going to play $1 - $4 MTT on stars and .05/.10NL. I consider myself an average poker player that consistently wins at our livehome games, but I find it very hard to adjust to online poker. Does anyone out there know why its hard to adjust to this change? In a past WSOP event. A player goes all in on DN and DN asks do you playonline? Opp answers yes. DN in return, says OK i call. DN takes down the pot.SO what does that say about online players?- A future thanks to all the replies to this post, jcashx36x
Daniel was just being a smartass with his online question. He no doubt would have called the guy regardless of his answer.I belief 5 cent 10 cent is too low, even with a 100 buck roll. 10-25 cent games have much better potential and the risk is not that much.....
  16. Alright I've been playing poker at home games for about a year now, but have just started getting really into poker. So for the past few weeks I've been messing around, but not really getting anywhere, I've played a few cash games, but mostly I seem to be better at tournamnets, so I've been playing alot more of those. Now that I have enough time to play more than 1 or 2 games a day I want to put some effort into building a decent bankroll. But due to spending most my money on a new comp all I have right now is my origonal deposit of 50$.So with the minimum possible bankroll it seems I have 3 options..05/.10$ cash games1$+.25 9 man sit and go's (3 places paid)1$+.25 45 man sit and go's (6 places paid)I like the tournaments better, so I would rather stick with those. But I don't know if it would be just as good or better to play cash, also risking 1/5th of my bankroll on cash seems like if I hit a couple of bad runs I'm in really bad shape, and have to wait till I earn some money to start playing again =P. The 9 man sit and go's seem nice since you have a atleast a 33% chance at placing the money, and so far I get in the money on about half of them, but even so winning .50 cents for about an hour of playing... dosen't seem like a great way to build money =P.I've been playing on full tilt, and also I read something about rakeback, can someone explain that, and does it apply to the extra 25 cents you throw into a 1$ tourney? I don't really want to multitable as right now I feel I should just concentrate on one game at a time.Edit...Woot, up to $50.20 now, rolling in the dough.
tiny buy-in sit and gos anre not the way to go. I recommend you play som .10-.25 cent pot limit or no limit holdem and slowly build your bankroll up that way. Then after you get past 100 or so, play higher buy-in sit and gos. And if u bomb out at the sit and gos, then go back to 25 cent live play and build the bankroll back up and so on.But dollar sit and gos arent worth the time and effort. I speak from over 10 years of experience.....good luck to ya.
  17. Being from Cleveland, I think Travis Hafner is one of the best hitters in the MLB. I'd say he is the best DH after Ortiz. He is very underated and I compare him to Allen Cunningham. Many hardcore baseball fans and people from Cleveland will know Hafner's name like many hardcore poker fans know Cunningham. Also Hafner is respected by the pros and many were mad he wasn't in the all star game. Cunningham won best player under 35 bye his peers.
well Hafner got snubbed by Ozzie Guillen, as all-star coaches will favor their own players and players they like. Hafner is with the elite guys though, no doubt. He is so tough to pitch too because of his plate coverage and he can hit to all fields. He seems like a quiet guy that just goes about his business. Cleveland teams have been medicocre which may be why he is not well known.
