ok first off I am CarolinaO (grrr) on the new siteI'll start. things that suck about the new site.1. the forum is now slow as hell2. the O on the end of the names thing. should have been warned and been given option to pick another. that sucks *surprise*3. no chartermember designation, or way to tell if you are one.4. just a skin, (was never fan of pokerroom) but figured daniel would be unique and "fix" what is wrong with all the other sites and actually have the ability to improve his.next!

I've heard it 3 ways.a person who is a "cooler" has bad luck that causes others to run bad when they are around.a hand that is a "cooler" is the ONLY hand that can beat you, or nuts when you hold 2nd.a "cooler" card is one that freezes the action. ie. you have nut straight and a 3 heart hits or the board pairs.

about 6 mos ago I got a letter. as the principle of the company they sent me something trying to tax the company on our "assets" in 2004 (this is considered $20K by default) I replied that the comany had cease operation in 2003 and had no revenue or assets.now six months later they cross referenced me individually, where I have made $30K in mortgage payments, bought new vehicles for my wife and myself and payed down my student loans.so I get a new letter (not thinking about the last one from 6 mos ago) that says we noticed you've been paying bills, where'd you get the cash? I replied that I was an employee of my company and was paid "consulting fees" (no salary for w2) they say "really. it says here that company no longer operates." doh!I just talked to my attny however, and we're going to claim that the bills were paid out of leftover cash from the company disolvement. plus now that I have a job to "merge" my other income with I might be okay.Could you elaborate on this portion more please? "personal expenditures" part.....Did they audit your checking account or something? At what point did in the tax portion did they have to match up your personal accounting stuff vs business? -

I also just started a job which will report as well (see thread, "the perfect poker related job")However, reported corperate assets/revenue for the shell company and personal expenditures didn't match up and the IRS got a flag. :oops: I just got hit with a $9K back tax bill based on expenditures for 04, and expected 05. resultbankroll takes 20% hit in one session. the gov't always holds the nuts.

true story.while down at the WSOP event in New Orleans, I was in the poker room playing Omaha. The table next to us was NL hold 'em A guy called all in with AQoff. Bettor had pocket Jacks. BIG pot (a few grand). 10 J x hit on the flop and the Jacks start making fun of the AQ calling him a donk for calling with AQoff. This is when they got loud and we stood up to see what the fuss was about.AQ says something like "just for running your mouth I'm gonna draw out." sure enough, K hits on the river to give the guy a straight.The set of jacks goes ballistic.AQ says "now who's the donk?"Set of Jacks Hits AQ over the head with a bottle and says "you..."enter security.

Nope. My wife is overseas (at her parents) and shes not back until Dec. 14th. We aren't moving until the first of the year. She doesn't start her PhD program until next fall. The move won't matter as my position is not a typical "Office job. " Besides, my region is the west half of the US.I thought you already moved to Vegas??what the hell is going on here. -
