I botched my own trick question, since JT987 would make the nuts and beat our T9876. Carry on...Please show me how we can have the nuts with two non board pairing cards. We have QQT7, flop is Q56. Can't be any of 23456789Q. All that leaves is AKJT and any two of those unpaired puts a broadway straight out. Yes we can make a backdoor straight with exactly 89 as last two cards, but that's not the nuts either. -
Turn and River. Board not paired. We still have the nuts. It is possible.I think they mean by the river. No combo of two non-board-pairing cards can fall where there isn't some type of straight that can be made. -
What two non board-pairing cards can come that will still leave us with the nuts?
Look more closely.none. there will always be a possible straight unless the board pairs. -
I would pot most of the time, looking to get raised by players with the smaller sets or bad players with an over pair. What two non board-pairing cards can come that will still leave us with the nuts?
-
Why would we open shove aces with 70 BB? I'm not positive, but I think you'd lose value from the 54o.Maybe if you had open shoved the previous 5 hands in a row...tyty. what do we think about open shoving preflop? -
Awesome! Congrats man. You deserve it!
-
Fold preflop. I have nothing to back this up.As played. Just call.
-
We are not betting and raising to define our hand. We should be always betting for value. Hence the raise preflop is a must, especially with our stack size. We have under 40 BBs to start the hand if I'm reading things right. Pot the flop and call a shove.
-
So why not CR the turn since I did bet?i think he figured he had the hand locked up so he was hoping you'd bluff -
Preflop you should probably fold but that's not too important to the discussion imo. I don't see this as an easy shovel at all. We need some info on villain. If he's a tight player then I can't see shoving as a good play. He's repping a set or a monster draw, and if he does have KKK or QQQ or even 555 then we have what amounts to a bad flush draw (bad because the board pairing kills it). If he has a big draw then we're maybe flipping a coin, and maybe 60/40ish either ahead or behind depending, although it's hard to think of too many hand he has that we're well ahead of. KTJx with spades (and similar hands) might go broke against us there, but how many other hands like that are there? Both us and villain are deep, so if we repot and he shovels it in he has a set most likely, or a very strong draw. I would say we should call this bet and hope he goes broke on a spade. I think it is a mistake to look at a pot like this as one we 'have to win,' or should willingly go broke on the flop with.
I thought this was a weird spot. But do I make it a weird spot by my double flat call on the flop? So to make things easier should I just always lead or CR... and not experiment with different lines???WTF were you doing check/calling the flop in the first place? That's awful. Either lead or C/R. -
fypRaise preflop. Flatting flop is fine but i'd rather raise. Shove turn. -

We have position, a double suited hand that includes an AJT, and are widening our raising / 3 bet / 4bet range. Why would this hand be worth 3-betting PF? I have some ideas, but don't want to say anything until you expand. -
