most tourney's involve set-up of chips/colouring up/setting music/food/pop!!!renting a hall or room! This is not a home game but an organized tourney!!!Do your feelings change about rake now????

It doesn't make sense, all I want to know is what is the best way to makemoney from a tournament that I would be holding myself??If it was 10% all I would get is like $70 for organizing the whole tourney.I just want a fair amount and what does everyone think my portion should beconsidering the cost!When is it considerede illegal?? What if we pre-arrange to have total money collected and also have no money exposed??? I'm sure most people do thatwhen they have there tournaments!

what is a fair amount to take from the pot for the number of people i would have?? Percerntage wise??

If I planned a tournament for 24 people at $30.00 a person. What is the best way to maximize the money paid for myself(host). I plan to have pop and chips and some sandwiches(food cost $30.00) I just buy bags of chips for $1 and 2litre pops for $1.50.What is the basic% for the house or typical rake??? I use to charge $5.00, but now I want to make more since it is becoming very popular.Any suggesstion?? I would just pay top 3!!!what is the usual % taken in tournaments???
