  1. What Mark said. It depends on villain and timing. Depending on the game flow and how I think villain is going to respond, I could certainly raise a set there. As a standard, I really like bluff raising a board like that and following up with a double barrel. At the same time, there will be times where I raise a set there because I know villain will think my raise is FOS or I think villain will be unable to fold Qx.Edit: Another thing about "range balancing." You don't actually need to range balance in a lot of cases. You just need to create the notion that your range is balanced, regardless of whether it is or not. For example, you might do one thing against one villain, and the opposite against another, but if Villain A sees you play a hand differently vs Villain B, he could assume your range is balanced for a given situation. I'm not sure if that made sense, I just woke up.
If Villian is gonna think your raise if fos there then raising a draw or bluff raising is probably a bad idea...No? It seems like you are playing both sides here... You like to bluff raise there cause villian will have a hard time continuing with Qx but at the same time if youre holding a set youre saying that villian will think your raise is fos cause the board is so dry and will felt Qx.
  2. Why am I never playing a set like this exactly? Last time I checked I'm playing a set like this very often.
Didn't we already have this argument in this thread? Rdog never raises sets on dry boards. You and I do :)FWIW I call with the oesd there a lot because its really disguised if you hit. Also I bluff raise the Q high dry flop a ton because villain has a hard time having a hand that can continue there fwiw.Mark
If villian is not, in your opinion, going to continue with much of his range why would you be raising a set there?

  4. In big trouble now. Need 21k hands in 14 days. Need 1k hands tomorrow, and a huge, huge day Sunday, like 3-4k worth of hands, at least. Monday will be 750 or so at the most, and the same goes for Tuesday, oh yea, and I won't be able to play hardly at all on Wednesday.

  5. In 2005, I built trusses for 35 houses every day. I had 200 employees and couldn't deliver all the product. Now, I'm lucky if I get 5 houses a week at little to no profit. It will be a few years before the housing market rebounds in Phoenix. At least I can wewr shorts to work all year. It's 78 degrees right now. :club: Go Cardinals!!!!!
Ive been a Carpenter for 11 years now an had built houses for the majority of that time, unfortunatly here like most places there is for the most part no such thing as a 'residential' Carpenter anymore. :4h I got into the restoration industry (fires, floods) about 4 years ago and its the only reason Ive been able to keep steady work always. If you dont do work for any of these companies in your area you should definitly look into it. Houses burn as much as they always have no matter the economy.and please kindly gfy as far as shorts go. :ts

  7. Villain has been reraising quite a bit but mainly showing quality hands down. Hero has been getting frustrated a bit.Villain (Button) $75Hero (BB) $100Villain minraises to $1. Hero has JJ in the BB. Hero reraises to $4. Villain calls.Read: The minraise is Villain's standard raise preflop with almost ATC.Flop ($8) [A76r]: Hero bets $5.50. Villain minraises to $11. Hero calls.Turn ($30) [A76Q]: Hero checks. Villain bets $18. Hero calls.River ($66) [A76Q9]: Hero checks. Villain goes all in for $42. Hero calls. What is villain's range here? What should Hero's calling range be? Comments on all streets welcome.
What would make you think JJ is good here? If villian is barrelling here with nada you need to practice better game selection.
