  3. So I've had Pokertracker for a while but just started using PokerAceHUD last few days. Lately I have been tilted more from my computer freezing then actually losing money. Can anyone help me with info on how to get everything to run more effectively without my computer freezing for 10minutes. All I have open is an excel file while I 6 table on Full Tilt and have Pokertracker running on the side. Usually I can last 30-45min with some lag until finally the comp freezes and I have to wait a bit to slowly reboot everything. I have defragged my comp as well as compacted my PT database and ran my Norton VirusScan to get my computer running faster. Any tips?

  4. A few things for you to consider.I think you said your child is on the way and thus you aren't a parent yet. I can speak from personal experience on how much your life will DRASTICALLY change once you have your child. Your perspecitive on life will change 100% and I assume you will be a good father and your child's wants/needs will start to become way more important than your own. That being said, a "suburban" lifestyle that you dread now will likely be far more appealing as your child grows up. I am not going to start a social debate, but I think it's a fair statement to say that a "suburban" environment will be a better place for your child than a "city" environment. There are better parks and recreation opportunity's for your child than in the city. (especially if it's an athletic child at all) Also, unless you wanna pay a ton for private education, the education opportunity's in a Naperville will be FAR better for your child.Just my 2 cents...since you sorta asked for opinions/help.
QFT, their education and schools really are far ahead of the majority of the Chicagoland. Even friends of mine that are from Naperville will admit their schools were really good and nobody my age says that. One big gripe tho is a large majority of the kids in Naperville high schools are snobby as hell.
  5. A buddy of mine from high school goes to UofC now and told me about it over Thanksgiving break, I kinda laughed and said how the hell is this ever gonna pass? lol, I'm still def surprised this passed but I don't see this really screwing up anything at this school since majority of the students there are just complete nerds and/or geniuses. The type of kids that go there see this as a political move and not a beer and twat move like it would be at my college.

  6. To the OP, I pretty much agree with most of what was said in this thread. I'm in college and about to turn 21 in a few months, but I saw myself in a very similar position to what you were in a few years back. Right when I turned 18, as in like the day of my birthday of being finally legal, I setup a Neteller and a Party Poker account (lol at those days being long gone). But basically I took my shot and deposited $500 and had some success but really had no idea how bankroll mgmt went and pissed most of the money away playing way too high. Anyways, since it sounds as if ur situation is similar to what mine was being the fact that this deposit of $500-$1000 won't kill your income as I assumed u saved up or worked in high school or whatever, I highly suggest depositing that $1000 and start grinding $25NL. $10NL is way too nitty and frustrating as most of the play will not improve your game but just leave you baffled (as well as the rake at $10NL being higher at Full Tilt). I am to this day a losing player at $10NL and found $25NL much easier and practical. I suggest you at the bare minimum, get a comfortable enough of roll to multi table $25NL and if you start to feel uncomfortable or lose too much, drop down to $10 SNGs instead of playing $10NL. If you are unfamiliar or inexperienced multi tabling, I suggest starting with 3-4 tables and moving up to 6 when you're comfortable. Also get rakeback as it is a life saver at helping the grinding of lower limits.

  7. Just got a text from him and says that if anyone is in Vegas right now he will take on all comers in Beer Pong at O'Sheas.
Can anyone tell me how the betting structure works playing BP at Osheas. Does the house like host bets and take a small fee or what? I'm going to Vegas in 2 months and will def be testing my college frat boy beer pong skills there.

I hope to profit $1500 without rakeback, and if I play 50k hands, rakeback should be another $600-700. Goal is to build up some money to take to Vegas in Feb when I'm finally 21.

  9. i like GnR as much as the next guy (although those songs up on their myspace are horrible), but common, accept pop culture trash for what it is, pop culture trash. they have no artistic merit whatsoever. its brittani spears with hard guitars.
lol at whoever bumped this threadI wouldn't go as far as saying the new GnR is trash. Sure compared to classic Appetite GnR, they're nothing but still decent. I have yet to get Chinese Democracy but I have heard most of the songs on the album. My initial reaction was most of the songs sucked but in all honesty, it only is when comparing it to AFD or UYI 1/2. I think if Axl wasn't a ego maniac and made a new band with a new name, the new sound would get much more praise. With that said, it's still depressing to see so much talent going to waste with the falling apart of Velvet Revolver and Axl Rose in general. I will still end up getting the new album soon and really listen to the whole thing; just gotta keep in mind that it isn't the same GnR I worshiped growing up.
  10. Wow started to forget about this thread... have barely played poker at all in the past few months due to excess drinking/girls/college life. Grinded past few days over Thanksgiving break and up like 6 BIs in ~1500 hands at 50NL6. Will post reasonable and bigger goals later today in hope as a spark for motivation and more money. With Xmas break coming, I am starting to retain the motivation and right attitude to put in serious volume and make real money over break.
