  1. EGO check. How often do you feel that you're the best player at the table after lets say, an hour of play? This is more likely regarding cash games since you tend to sit with the same players for longer periods of time. What if you sit down at a cash game with Chris Moneymaker? Phil Hellmuth? Insert player here etc.? Would you still feel that you're the best player? Tournaments apply as well since the 08 WSOP will start soon and some FCP members might find themselves sitting with some pros if they enter some events. Which poker pro do you fear the most and on the other hand who do you feel you could beat?Personally for me I'll sometimes play a NL tournament at the Morongo Casino (in SoCal) and 90% of the players there are so bad I always feel confident that I'm the best player at the tables. Cash game too for the most part. Also, I wouldn't mind sitting at a table against lets say Chris Moneymaker. I have a feeling I'm not the only who feels this way.
When I sit down at a cash game live, I usually am busy paying attention to who are the worst players. If I have been sitting there for a half an hour and I can't see a soft spot or two I just get up and find another game. Game selection son. Online I just avoid most of the regs, and that seems to work. So yes I feel like usually I am one of the best at my table, but that has more to do with game selection I suppose.
  2. HEY! Hit me up and I'll meet you for a FCP cash game challenge. I'm right there in Daly City. Also wanted to point out that Caesar's is going with the "Mega Stack" tournaments that are boating bigger chips (10-15k) and longer structures (50 min levels) than other folks for 225-550 buy ins. 1000 three day main event. You might try those.Laughed my ass off about Harrah's pillaging their own tournament action though. However, having FTed a few Caesar's tournies (go 7pm dailies!), I have to say I like their basic structure, room and player selection.Love the Venetian with the F-ing rose powder does not set off my sinuses. Like the carpet fungus at LC.
Funny you said that cause I ft'd a 7pm at ceasars in Jan. lol Total crapshoot at the end though. Looks like most people are siding with the WSOP. I'll probably play both.
  3. dont forget that you can play satallites as well, and cash games are going to be the juiciest of the year in vegas as well, plus with the prestige and prize pool of the wsop i would definately go with the wsop
The cash games are awesome during that time of year! I love it cause there is actually more action than usual at the Venetian. I like the their pokerrom a ton more than Bellagio. Less cramped, cleaner etc... Frankly I think the only reason I play the tournies is for the whole competition factor. I am around a break even tourny player when it comes to outside my local casino(Lucky Chances) So with that being said I guess the WSOp is the way to go if I am in it for the competition aspect. You will definatly find me at the 2-5nl 5-10nl cash during June though.
  4. play both?
With the greater varience in tournaments , and a limited willingness to commit a chunk of my bankroll built up through cash games, I am just wondering if it was worth playing a couple 1500 events at WSOP when I could enter 3-5 times as many at the Venetian for the same amount of money. I understand the prestige of the WSOP but unless your playin in a 5g event or higher really don't think your getting much more out of it than the Deep Stack, but thats why im askin you guys. Thanks for the input so far
  5. After playing in a few 500 dollar Venetian Deep Stack events, and a few WSOP 1500 events last year, I feel like the deep stack events are a better value for the money. You get more chips, the blind structure is pretty close to the same. Maybe the only drawback is the fields at the Deep stack were a little tougher? Seems like the is a lot of other Casinos hopping on Venetian's bandwagon also this summer. What do you guys think?

  6. with 25k i seriously wldnt try to go to vegas with a daughter , id move out to a city you like that has decent rent and get an apartment pay a whole year off and get a part time job , with the left over money take out a % to use as a shot shld give you about 5-10k grind that up and after the year re evaluate and see where your at , going pro doesnt mean you have to go balls out and drop everything , take it year by year and who knows where it will end/start ,
Rent? I would say cost of living vs wages in Vegas is +ev when it comes to other places to live. If you want to move to Vegas do it right. Find a job first, play as a hobby and keep records for a year. If you are serious about getting out of your situation poker should come last man.
  7. I would call the min raise preflop, so I am not as tight as the rest.but after that I would probably get away from the hand. You could be a head on the flop, but you are probably not a favorite to hold up. Once your bet was called you have to give someone credit for having you beat. Your flush draw is weak and your straight draws are not to the nuts, so basically you are down to 4 outs to a full house. You made a stab bet after the flop, which is fine, but after that I would be in check/fold mode.
