  1. So basically, i was playing in a $5 entry fee tourney over at Ultimate Bet. I know its cheap but thats really all i can afford at the moment. A particular hand comes up thats extremely common..and i almost always go broke on and i figured i'd come to you guys for some help. Its early in the tournament, and i have about 1800 in chips (after starting with 1500). I look down at AJspades in late position and raise to about 3.5 times the big blind, and get two callers. The flop comes J-9-2 with two clubs. It's checked to me and i bet half the pot, and both call. The turn is a complete blank, and p
  2. Hey everybody, Hopefully this doesnt come off as whining, because that's not my intent. Rather, I'd just like to get some advice from you guys. My name is Michael, im 20 years old, and have been playing for about a year and a half. I dont have a full time job, so i dont make enough money to play extremely high buy in tournaments, but i consider MTT's my specialty. Ive done very well in them, having won a few $30 & $20 MTT's and cashing consistently. My problem is that these days i dont have a lot of money to put into my bankroll because of car insurance, and other shit like that. I decide
  3. Hey everyone, I've been playing hold 'em for about a year now and consider myself to be somewhat of an average to above average player. I basically play NL Hold 'em, especially large tournaments. I have a few books such as "Play poker like the pros" by hellmuth (which i hate), Caro's book of tells, and the tournament poker book by TJ and Mcovey...but im looking to buy another. I was in the book store the other day and saw dan harrington's book on NL tourney poker. I had never heard anything about it and didnt even realize he had written a book. Is it any good? Also i've been putting off buying

  5. Ok guys...i was just playing a $.25/$.50 blind no limit game over at ultimate bet when a few ridiculous hands ocurred. I cant even tell you how incredibly angry i am at their outcomes. This time im not bitching about the lucky catches on the river and such, but the plays these people are making. People with legitimate stacks ($50+). The first hand ocurred when i was dealt pocket J's on the button. I raised the blind to $2 flat and got 3 callers. ALREADY this shows some looseness. Flop comes down 2-K-J rainbow. Hallelujah, right? WRONG. I check...someone bets $2, first guy calls, and i raise it
