  1. You have to mix your styles up based on a lot of factors in my opinion. When I am short stacked I play more of a long ball style trying to get my chips in with good hands or pick up the blinds. When I have a bigger stack I will tend to play more of a small ball style trying to pick up pots and bust people without having to risk a lot of chips without a hand.
  2. I have been enjoying playing PL Omaha more and more lately and was hoping someone could recommend a good book to me. I would consider myself an intermediate level player. I play mostly cash games. Thanks in advance for any input.
  3. I was convinced he had KK or QQ becuase he is a tight player and I knew he was raising with eithier a strong Ace or a PP and I elimated a strong Ace when he called on the flop because he wouldnt call without a pair or flush draw and I had the Ace hearts. That left a pair with a heart in my mind I doubted he would call 1500 with an underpair and a weak flush draw. I try not to play hands the same way sometimes I might slow play a small flush and other times I will try and push hard depending on the size of the pot and situation, but I dont want to play hands the same way and make it easier to

  5. Yea that was my thinking as well with that many limpers everyone is getting pretty good pot odds to call if you raise 3x the BB. I just wanted to make sure my thinking wasnt out of whack. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Every book you read advocates "opening" a pot for 2 to 5 times the BB. People usually come in for raises in the games these pros play in. My question is how much should u raise when your in late position and 3 or 4 people have limped in in front of you? Whenever I raise 3 or 4 times the BB on the button with AK suited after 4 people limp in, I feel like Im wasting money as they all end up calling and I miss the flop 2/3 of the time. Should I be putting in more of a pot size bet to drive out the weaker hands and try to win the pot right there or get it heads up? Thanks in advance for your
  7. I play alot of NL tourneys and cash games but have only played limit about 6 times. Ive won about half the time Ive played and am about even overall. Ive read quite a few articles on limit strategy and understand pot odds, EV etc... but overall I feel like low $$ limit is just a crap shoot. I play $3/$6 at the Trump in Chicago and there will be 6 people seeing a flop in a capped pot and people calling to the river with bottom pair or any straight or flush draw. Most people would say that is great for you to win but it seems like they take turns sucking out on me at times. Best example is
  8. Why would u put in half your stack on a raise knowing you are giving 3 people pot odds to call your raise? I dont understand the logic of that play when you are short stacked.
  9. I dont like raising it 2k that puts 4450 in the pot and only 2k to call giving anyone with a decent hand or suited connectors and chips to play with pot odds to call. I also dont like raising 2k and saying your leaving yourself "options", if you would even consider folding if someone pushes back at you then you shouldnt be raising half your chips as a short stack. In my opinion the play is to move allin or smooth call and hope to hit a big flop. That said I would shove them allin and not think twice about it. If you noticed that UTG limps and will fold to a raise then surely others who are
  10. I always thought if u say"I put that guy all-in" you were essentially betting whatever that person has in front of them.On a side note. One of my buddies said "Im All-in" and I called really quick he said he was just kidding and refused to give me his chips when he saw I had a full house. I was tempted to beat them out of him but it was only a $10 tourney so I didnt think it was worth it.
  11. Given the way most internet players play I would call in a heartbeat. If he had flopped a str8 or a set he would of tried to slow play it. I have seen this move on UB quite a bit and have called with as little as TT and every time I have been up against a AK, AQ or a small pair and won the hand. If he was a good player who had flopped a set and put you on an overpair why would he lead out allin? It seems more likely he would try to get you to commit yourself to the pot so he could checkraise you allin.
