obrien64 0
The Krablar thing makes me laugh my ass off, but i do not know why. What is the history of this Krablar business so i wont feel so weird when i laugh at it? Thanks! Also, i saw several references to the "he called me with a jack high" statement made in the WSOP, but i do not know anything about it either. Yes im really new to this forum but i would just like to know a little bit so i can continue to be entertained and with reason lol.
RPGs316 0
In reference to the Krablar:http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...?t=7967&start=0In reference to the "Jack high statement":That was made in a smaller tournament during the WSOP by one Elix Powers towards some other player that called his [Elix] made hand when the other player was holding a Jack high. Hence the statement.
adidas freak 0
I too am lost when it comes to Krablar...although I find myself playing it every once in a while...with fairly good results! All I know about Krablar is that it is an FCP nickname for K3 which has previously been called King Crab. You also have to write or say "Pinch-Pinch" when you win with it???The saying "He called me with a Jack high" comes from last years WSOP when a former bum (seriously, a former bum) named Ellix Powers made it to a final table in the $5000 limit holdem event. He was a major underdog and he knew it. So, he decided to talk trash all day to the other players. For example, I think he called TJ a choker a few times. Anyways, Power's decided to raise in the dark one hand and another player, who was fed up with the antics, called with a jack high. Power's then ran out of the casino and told a group of people smoking that he got another player so mad that "he called me with a Jack high!"The guy is a bum and a joke...but it makes for a funny catchphrase. TS Clark 0
They guy that called Powers down was none other than Jim McManus, the author of maybe the best poker book (Positively Fifth Street) ever written. He felt that Powers was "disrespecting" a beatiful game with his antics.I can't say I was the biggest Ellix Powers fan, but he did get some people on tilt. McManus is typically a fairly conservative/tight player, so he was clearly ticked off at Powers to call him down without even a pair.Shane
