  1. Hey guys, I entered a 60 fpp buy in on Pokerstars for the EPT Monte Carlo 6000 Freeroll. The thing is, I have to work this Sunday and never expected to do this well. I can not play. Is there someway that Pokerstars can do a payout of fpp's or something or maybe one of you " better players" can let me know some options. Anything to help because my other choice is to let it go and I really dont want to do that. Serious about getting this figured out. 2. I have posted on here a few times in the past about nothing but to brag on this certain hand or how much I took off this guy, blah blah blah. I had a general concept of nl hold em play. I KNEW NOTHING, and on a smaller note, prob. still dont. I would win 100 , lose 75. Win 15, lose 50. Get angry and tilt my ass off till I was broke and then reload and donate some more. I took a small brk. , power read all the books I have seen mentioned here at fcp. Read em again and then started to play within my bankroll. Before, I would start at .5/.10 nl and get lucky and think I was ready for some 1/2. Ha, thinking back now, I can see that I was the donkey everyone kept talking about. No one thinks that this could be them but one day the light bulb went on over my head and I realized that things needed to change. I strongly suggest to read those books , just to get more info about things you might not think to look for or see. Now I read all the stuff on this forum so I know that some of you are past reading and are more advanced. Your post have also helped my play. Newbs, myself included, stop posting your dribble and read books and what these vets are saying in the strat section. I have a ways to go with all the donkeeeee money I have paid out , and the cost of the poker books but I think I am on my way. Thank you for the information you guys on fcp are writing about. You know you are.

Or at least 90% certain - by previous hands played. the AA hand is something u have to be willing to rock n roll with right. If I wont go all in with those preflop, then I should give up poker.

  4. Not sure of what u are saying but in a nutshell... my mentality was that the raises were within my reach.. or I felt comfortable with just those raises. Had there been an all in pre-flop... i take my loss and go on. Had I not made my set on the flop I would of tucked tail at any raise to follow. Any thing lower than my jj and I fold to any raise of that amount/ compared to what everyone had at table. One hour after that hand / different table , I get squared up with a monster stack with kk vs. jjMonster stack = I can beat anybody cause I have more chips. I used to shy away from those guys.. after reading post of that nature in here , I go looking for just that.I will say that I was kind of nervous when we went at it, should I have took his raises to mean AA. I couldn't lay it down. You guys are probably going to look me up and empty my pockets. 5. Have been riding a great wave of cards the last two days. Up over 400 just nickel / dime'n folks.I know that taking ace ace out is not the miracle to end all, but the table play from this clown was very aggresive so I really took joy in jerking his drawers down for all to see ......Not alot of money from "clown" but had a bit of 3 way action till the turnPokerStars Game #2858592687: Hold'em No Limit ($0.50/$1.00) - 2005/10/21 - 18:00:48 (ET)Table 'Eva II' Seat #1 is the buttonSeat 1: vp_fish ($90 in chips) Seat 3: xpatriotsx ($45.55 in chips) Seat 4: Linzi ($28.80 in chips) xpatriotsx: posts small blind $0.50Linzi: posts big blind $1*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to vp_fish [Jd Js]vp_fish: raises $2 to $3Tomcat29 has returnedxpatriotsx: calls $2.50Linzi: raises $6 to $9vp_fish: calls $6xpatriotsx: calls $6*** FLOP *** [4c Jh 8s]xpatriotsx: checks Linzi: bets $11vp_fish: raises $22 to $33xpatriotsx: folds Linzi: calls $8.80 and is all-in*** TURN *** [4c Jh 8s] [6s]*** RIVER *** [4c Jh 8s 6s] [5s]*** SHOW DOWN ***Linzi: shows [Ah As] (a pair of Aces)vp_fish: shows [Jd Js] (three of a kind, Jacks)vp_fish collected $65.60 from potLinzi leaves the table*** SUMMARY ***Total pot $66.60 | Rake $1 Board [4c Jh 8s 6s 5s]Seat 1: vp_fish (button) showed [Jd Js] and won ($65.60) with three of a kind, JacksSeat 3: xpatriotsx (small blind) folded on the FlopSeat 4: Linzi (big blind) showed [Ah As] and lost with a pair of AcesOn a side note, I said in my previous play that I only play .25/50 nlheI have done some reading here about moving up to the next level and have not really noticed too much difference in play - just more to be won or lost** DISCLAIMER** by no means am I claiming to be king snit of NL, by my two day rush of cards.. i do know the reality of things.

  6. I did try to isolate the all in with that weak ass bet. I see what you are saying now. I guess in hindsight though, I didn't want to get too much more in the pot for fear of getting blind sided with aa/kk. Once he "just" called my play, instead of reraising, I figured I could eliminate those hands. Now I don't claim to know more than .002% about poker compared to some vets here. I read (and learn) more than I talk, but I don't really care about the position once I get head to head. I almost like the reverse part of being able to control the hand. Am I wrong in this thinking?

  7. Okay, first let me say thanks for letting me get to my second post without getting my face melted. The following hand went down just a bit ago with me nervous as a cat. I only play .25/.50 NLHE & $5 sng's. I lucked out , was trying to represent the jack. Any comments on the way I played it out .. Table was playing tight to real tight cept for short stack, they never care if they have less than 20 bucks.PokerStars Game #2844553609: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - 2005/10/19 - 21:08:55 (ET)Table 'Landi' Seat #6 is the buttonSeat 1: Seat 2: MR.
