  2. LOL, I find your post more arrogant than OP's.That said, it sounds like OP is at the crossroads that I'm trying very dilligently to get past. Where your 'real life BR" is much larger number.....so while you are only putting X money into a site, you play that money based on the Y amount of money you actually have, in that it doesn't even feel like it's worth the time to grind a table and only make Z amount of money if you are playing tables appropriate for your true online BR.OP, for 6-7 years of my life (and honestly, I'm still weaning myself from this style of play), I was a 'B/E to slight winning depo degen'. I classify this as a guy that loses 50 buck after 50 buck deposit, because he's playing SnG's/MTT's like 5-20 bucks in buy-in, because his 'life roll' isn't interested about a 1.5 buy-in win at the .02/.05 cash table after playing for an hour or two, nor cashing the 1-2 buck MTT tourney. You can play like this.... I'd play, hit a big score or get on a heater, then cash out for 500 or a grand or whatever number sounds fun. Then after a few weeks, I'd come back, do the 50's depo and start the cycle again. As I've taken poker more seriously over the last few years, truly studying strategy, game theory, actually reading all the standard books, joining an online forum site (woot woot!), etc., I started to get a desire to actually cultivate and maintain a bankroll. Like I say, this is a work in progress to this very day. I'd say the biggest thing I've noticed is that you definitely have to be ready and willing to downshift. Part of playing the way I always have is because it gives you that gamble/adrenaline rush. When you exhibit even light BR management, no one tourney is going to make or break you, nor is any one single hand in the ring. This is a good thing...I think it's the shift from gambler to poker player :)Read everything you can, get active on the forum talking strategy, etc. Over time if you truly want to, you'll start to get the desire to succeed....and that desire is above and beyond money. There's a big psychological plus that comes with playing within your online roll. I mean I'm not even 100% perfect with it.....like I'll play a 5 buck MTT even though I have 110 in my account at a certain time. Not great BR management....... However, in comparison to putting 50 bucks down at a .25/.50 table with a 125 buck roll, it's a huge step in the right direction, ya know.
MSP ~ you just described me exactly, ' cept i am much better lookingmy buck roll management skills still need serious work but it is coming along. I have been depositing 25 , 50 every two weeks , then their will be a span of time where my 25 deposit turns into 1700. just wanted to say thanks for verballizing my thoughts quote me
  3. Silver Strike Vegas Style ftw. Always easy to get action from anyone. Golden Tee takes too long, and I don't care to pay 50% juice to the kids.
i play that all the time (while i am working), If walk into a location to work on a game and SSB is in the housei will whip out my operators card and run up a game. no way to prove it but i would seriously kill anyone on here on SSB
  4. It's the only game in the bar besides pull-tabs.
I see guys playing the Golden Tee 2010, they will be betting on their game or I have seen them have a horse , also side action per hole. speaking of Keno, I was at a little redneck bar putting a new monitor in a jukebox this past week. An old timer came in and ordered a beer , and rattled off the two different quick picks he wanted to the bartender a 4 spot two times, and a 3 spot 5 timesShe got him the beer and the tickets and within a minute he is bitchin that she got his ticket wrong. she had giving him a 5 spot 3 times. , he was lividuntil he won 800 dollars about 4 minutes later. he gave her five bucks after the whole bar started riding his ass for being cheap.
  5. I was working on a jukebox at a bar at the Lake of the Ozarks, between Osage Beach and Camdenton. Their was a group of guys ranging in age from late 40's to mid 60's sitting at a big round table right next to where I was working.I caught on pretty quick to what was getting played but didnt notice for awhile that the table was loaded with $100's.Not sure of the rules they were using or the exact format but just from the quiet conversation I understood it to be what I have done with $1's , where you read off the serial number, ~ best hand wins. They seen the bar owner talking with me so they did not mind me being less than 3 feet from the action. I didnt do an accurate count but it had to be 25k sitting at this table. I go to alot of places around the lake and have heard the talk that you never know when you are talking to a millionaireI think their might of been one or two sitting at that table.Just wanted to share that and wondered if any of you guys play that , with any denomination other than ones?

  6. was looking up tourneys to enter and came across the 2.20 turbo 8k gar. , at first it showed registering available , then once i clicked on the table , it did not give me the option , top right of the tourney page is still advertising extended reg. available , but it is not , only running 13 minutes now ,
