  1. There is definite downside for sure but there is immediate upside as well. I know at least one person that would start contributing again in a new forum and I will probably talk to at least one other person and maybe 2. Heck, I might even contact Kevlar too. I think those of you that are thinking about all the downside are forgetting how many really high quality posters the C Thread lost because of the forum as a whole.

  2. I wanna know if I can join the new forum as well.
Obv. I feel like people are sad about this but I don't quite understand why. In the end, if people don't want it, I can certainly kill it and I will personally just move on. I don't want people to feel like I am trying to force them in any way to do something they don't want to.
  3. this why I like this thread. because if im in a poker mood, I can read the poker content, but usually I need a break from poker which is why most of my posts are only mildly poker related. this thread really helps keep me from burnout.but obv if everyone moves to the new forum then im in because you guys are all my friends. maybe people will talk poker in the new forum and still post silly crap here :)mark
I'm confused why you don't think it can be exactly the same as it is here but with the addition of people being able to speak more freely during strat discussions? It's not like because you move the location, it changes everything.
  4. I hope I am invited to the private board if/when it happens :-(
I mean, no one is looking to be exclusionary. Not that there would a reason to exclude you anyway. Even before all the recent drama it was something that I thought would be beneficial. Things could be discussed so much more without fear of Google searches, etc. Sure, everyone could be careful and not post specific names but I think quite a few of us have a lot of valuable information on specific players as C Threaders are moving through the limits. Beyond that, it certainly wouldn't be hard for others to find this thread. I do occasionally google opponents so even if we don't mention other names, our names will definitely come up. I doubt I am alone in doing this. All of that is why I think most people should be okay with it.On a personal note, I'm tired of living in a fish bowl here, where people who I have never had a conversation with, judge me based much on what I say here. Having people benefit for whatever advice I give and through the other side of their mouth talk about how I have some holier than thou attitude really makes me question why I would continue doing it. I probably get too worked up over comments that people I don't care about make, but it's just a natural reaction to try to defend myself and I am tired of it. It just isn't worth it for me anymore. So once I get back home on Monday, there is a very good chance I will be posting elsewhere. I hope everyone is okay with it, etc since I don't think there is much downside but if not, I will probably just primarily post on 2+2.
  5. I find it funny that so many people not named DM are so up in arms about what I said. LOL, from my interaction with him, he isn't offended at all. It's not like in my normal interaction with people that I regularly insult someone without any advice whatsoever. It takes something like this for me to just say it how I see it. Sure, most of the time I am blunt and to the point but you won't find more than 20 posts (probably much less but I'm old and my memory sucks) that I have ever made that are directly insulting someone and not giving them advice. To make these blanket statements like any time someone does something I don't agree with or think is incorrect and act like I react this way all the time is ludicrous. I guess none of you ever read a post and think "wow, what an idiot" (for many of you, probably some of my posts)? The difference is, I actually say it. And it pretty never has nothing to do with their intelligence and more to do with their lack of self control, etc. Probably a fault I guess since some people will continue to get offended over stuff like that.

  6. Then we will miss when dink donk comes around and the rotation of new and old posters will be stunted. Just do the trick that the min bet ers did and edit your posts like you did your 2008 results.
It isn't just the info anymore. What all this has caused me to realize is that so many people lurk this thread now, it feels like we are living in this glass house where everyone can see whatever they want. We post our day to day activities all of which are being judged by these other people that are just waiting to use it when it is opportune for them. This is probably truer for me than most cause I probably reveal a lot more of myself than most people in here, but it still is what it is. And besides that, why should I have to do extra work to hide my thoughts from people I don't want reading it and at the same time removing that info from the people that I do want to read it?
  7. I'm a game selection nit, that is the main reason. I don't care what the stakes are, I just want the easiest path to putting other people's $ in my account. Take today for instance - one of my fav donks moved down and was playing 50nl, so I sat with him til he busto'd. There was also a super soft 5/10 game running, so I sat in it. 1/2 and 2/4 are my main games and i try to stick there, but I always look up a level or two trying to maximize profits (altho there was a super crazy soft 10/20 game a few days ago that I didn't have the stomach (or bankroll lol) to sit in :ts ), and I would rather sit in a lower stakes, easier table than playing one at my normal stakes filled with regs if the games aren't all that good at a particular time.Is this the best strategy to maximize my profits? I'm not 100% sure, but I know it works for me. Do I feel ashamed that I make a living off of bum hunting? Not in the least. :club:
FWIW, this is much of what I have started doing. The games/limits/players, etc have all become so blurred, it's just about what tables are good now. In my HEM this month I have 6 limits that I have played (7 if you count mass tabling for 25 billionth).
  8. A lot of people in this thread are being bitches. The ones who can't handle criticism, contructive or otherwise;plus the ones who are shocked when not everyone bows at their feet to gobble up their priceless "advice". Sounds like you all should pick up your ball and go home.
Ah yes, for sure. I love that on a poker forum I have to feel bad for giving poker advice. But then again, everyone that never posts an opinion on anything or does anything to contribute to the forum want to comment on what I want in return when I give advice. Must be nice to always be able to play armchair quarterback.
