  1. Brandi’s death is sad for too many reasons to count. It’s sad because she ended her own life. It’s sad because she made that choice at a time when her family and friends thought she was turning her life around. It’s sad because her life was sad. And it’s sad because she left behind a lot of people who really loved her and would have continued to love her even if she had continued to make mistakes.I find this to be a sad commentary on the state of the online poker community. If you go to 2+2 right now you’ll see an on going list of posters stepping up and admitting regret to how they treated her and sadness that she is now gone. They aren’t saying that they should have felt respect for her but they are acknowledging that ruthless harassment of a person who never did any to them might have been wrong. And sadly enough, those who truly did have a reason to “hate” her for what she did to them are still heartbroken by her death. If they can forgive her why can’t a bunch of jerks on the internet just let it go? It’s sad to see people who never met her attacking her and saying she was “evil.” How would you know this? Because of a bunch of stories and rumors you saw posted on an internet message board? And even if it was all true, what did she ever do to you?Brandi used people. Was it because she was evil? I don’t believe so. I think she was just used so much in her life by others they she didn’t know how else to live. It was second nature to her. Perhaps as she had gotten older and learned to trust the people who really did care about her she would have grown past it. There’s no way to really know. She was still so very young.I did not respect the way she lived her life but I never felt I had a right to be cruel to her. She was always nice to me and I gave her the same courtesy. I think it’s sad that a bunch of anonymous people on the internet felt they had to brutalize her the way they did. I think many of the posters from 2+2 should be ashamed. Sadly I have seen this happen to too many people in the online poker community. A group of people choose some one to abuse and continue to do so with great enthusiasm. It’s as if they have found their new favorite game. Brandi was a favorite punching bag for online poker players. I really hope her choice to end her life wasn’t because of what people said on message boards, but I believe the constant assaults did weigh heavily on her. How could they not have?If anyone here believes that the world is better off without her I challenge you to tell me why you have the right to dance on her grave when those she actually wronged have forgiven her and now mourn her loss.RIP Brandi
It's unfortunate, the internet and the faceless society it is causes people to go to a level they normally wouldn't in "the real world" because they don't really see a person in front of them. No matter where you go online you can find people that like to flame anyone and everyone. Others will join in and feed it and it always grows from there.
  2. That was a crazy 3rd period but very entertaining. I thought we were going to go to OT and then I didn't and then I did and then I didn't...lolI think the Habs will come out flying in game 7 though. Guy won't let them come out flat will he?

  3. I screwed up guys it seems. When I corrected the spelling in the poll it took all the numbers back to 0 (at least when I'm looking at it) and we can't vote again so guess all your votes don't count now, lol. Now you all can talk about BG's sinister subconcious desire to see the votes all back to 0 again.
Proof we need to get rid of those dam electronic voting machines :club:
  4. Oh and btw, the city was on riot alert like crazy. Every street corner downtown had at least 1 patrol car on it and this was for a couple kilometers. This city is nuts, heads up serge, you're going to see some real craziness this week-end.
Police are taser crazy lately, so we should see some good taser videos on YouTube after the Habs win the series then. :club:
  5. At this point everyone has argued themselves in circles, and it's pretty pointless right now.
    Tru Dat
Sad that she died, especially in that manner, and especially for her family..... Whether you liked her or really care that she is gone is another story altogether though.

  6. Nah, let's not start throwing blame around.
I have a feeling there is going to be a lot more than just blame being thrown around with this over the next few weeks or so. I'd hope that people would be able to keep this tragic event from turning into something it shouldn't.
  7. DN DN DN DN DN DN DN DN DN :club: I'm wondering if she is really sleeping or faking and just hiding her face because she doesn't want anyone to know it's her. :ts I don't even want to speculate and be the one to start some rumor that get's spread around the poker world in the span of 2 minutes. :PThat is so funny though, bringing the interviewer and camera person right into the bedroom knowing she's in the bed.

  8. Basically all three are no good. All three are from the pit of Washington that is responsible for where the country is. The Democrat vs Republican show is for your amusement and the majority fall for it year after year. It's like choosing to die by fire, drowning or overdose. Each one is more comfortable than the other , but in the end...you're dead.

  9. This sounds like a fun time that the high rollers will be able to take advantage of. With only 18 spots open I'm sure they will be taken fast even with the $15,000 price tag. Should have just had it the weekend prior to the WSOP main event then those attending could throw another $10,000 into that and use what they learned from the weekend with DN :-P

  10. ricardob Posted Today, 7:16 PM I'm sorry for the off-topic here, but I only recently started playing poker and the it seems us poker players have a lot of limitations in what concerns sites and services they can use-Can anyone explain me why this is? What's the reason for this? Who does it serve?I really have no idea and was just curious.
It mostly has something to do with the US laws and the gubment trying to control online gambling in general or so I'm lead to believe.
  11. I am still a newb my self really. But I think what really annoys some of these guys is when newbs start worthless threads and clutter up the board and the important threads fall way down.[x] IMO
Naw...that can't be it because they'll bump up those threads, sometimes each will be repeating the same things others said over and over. I just think they enjoy doing it really. This goes on in every type of forum. It gives some people a feeling of power because they never can just jump into a conversation they hear strangers talking in real life they don't like and start ripping the person a new one.
