    January was awesome. Played about 12k hands, around 70% at $50nl. Roll at the beginning was $710, roll right now is $1541. This included $70 in bonus and $30 from carbons monthly promotion. Finished all my bonus and am pretty much set to move over to full tilt.Goals:1: Sort out money stuff. Move most/all of roll to full tilt.2: Get PT3, HEM or similar.3: 10,000 hands.4: Post at least 5 hands in the strategy forum.5: Read a poker book.6: Run 3 times a week.7: Break an hour over 12km8: Read a book9: Eat better.Lots of stuff. GG January, you were awesome. GL for Feb all.

    for Jan1. drop way down to 2NL and STAY THERE! PASS very happy with my self for staying at this limit.2. play very little online- around 4k hands ( i have found live to be my best game always has been)50103. play more live games thinking 5 a week its mostly $10-$50 home games with any where from 8-40 people. i just got into 2 more games in the area in the last week and can find a game about 6 nights a week. and most run a .25/.50 nl cash game after donkament. played around 4 a week4. online +$25 Fail -$19.54 and +$8.02 in rakeback5. live +$500 Fail +$225.006. stop spending live BR on stuff i want. check

    any gun owners here wanna give me some advice?i been having night mares (not really sure why, but at least 3x now) of people breaking into our house. it's really strange for me to have them...as i haven't had a reoccuring nightmare since i was real young.anyways, last nite around 2am i thought I heard something really weird, and almost went up to check but was tired/almost asleep and fell asleep. wake up this morning and our back door is open but nothing is gone. 100% sure door was shut and locked, as keturah checked it before she went to bed...so idk. we have a porch in the back yard, and the sound that alarmed me was that kinda sound when someone steps down on your front/back porch and you can kinda 'feel' it throughout your house. anyways, i said something like "fk" when i heard that relatively loudly, so maybe if someone was trying to break in they heard that. idk, maybe it was nothing...but def weird as hell.our back door lock is one where you just turn the little thing that is on the door knob...it's not a major lock, and when i checked the door it was positioned still in the 'locked' position.anyways, i'm going on and on...but i'm basically curious (if anyone has a clue) if it's possible the door magically opened, even tho it was locked, or if someone could have gotten the door open without 'unlocking' the shitty little lock we had or w/e. idk, i'm not a flake on hearing stuff and i hadn't smoked any herb :club: so i wasn't paranoid...just very weird.next question is: thoughts on a gun? ive been thinking bout getting one for a while now and i think i am now. just don't wanna ever have something happen and not feel like i can defend myself and keturah. f that. so with this + my strange dreams i think our fear based society finally got to me :)ive shot some 9mm and some 45s and felt ok with either one...but would it be better to just get some sort of 9m with medium capacity?also, if i buy a gun will i become an addict and buy more? ppl always seem to say this and just wondering on the verdict. my cousin bought a pistol and then got a m4 thing and an ak47. the ak47 is super tight and has a bayonet lolol. i was like, really, an ak 47, you need that?thxalso, how much should i be looking to spend roughly, on a gun / ammo (proper amount to keep in house) / anything else appropriate.- Jordan
    About a month back i actual had someone try to get into my house when me and my wife were home. we live out in the country. first i called my dad who is the police cheif in our town adn he lives 1 mile down the road. 2nd i called 911. i was was trying to find my 12 guage shot gun ( i am a huge hunter) and that is the only gun i own. i then remebered it was in the garage on my 4 wheeler from the last hunting trip i had. well the door to garage is in the entry right next to the front door that th eguy was trying to open, with a 2'x 4' stain glass window so i didnt want to go for it since they would see me. when my dad arrived roughly 4-5 mins later guy had already left. he was on foot, i assume since i saw no lights leaving or hear anything. 60 ft from my door is solid pine trees for 100s of acres. since that night i now keep my shot gun and 5 slug shells under my bed. i also have thought of gettting a 9mm. to keep in my night stand next to me. i have also had a few night mares only since the night it happened though.edit: also you may want to think about new door or atleast install a dead bolt lock

    i am very happy with my jan. so far.have only played 1947 hands online for +7 buy ins. havn't left my limit. A+ for that.got a small cash last night live.I have about 9 games planned for the rest of the month if i can average $50 at each one my month should end great.also have a 3 day trip planned at the end of Jan to go to a card club about 250 miles away with a nice structured tourny and 2/4-30/60 limit games going 24/7.
    have 3300 hands online for +6 buy ins was up to about +9 then had a bad 1k hand down swing to be -5 buy ins adn yesterday in 441 hands came back up 11 buy ins. talking about running good.also have not played anything besides 2nl i hate it but i feel i need to get better at BRM before playing 10nl again.i have a live donkament and cash game tonight and tomarrow night so hope to come out up $100 after those 2. also on sat have 2 tournys i freerolled into each tourny has 16 players and winner gets a $230 seat at casino tourny. my wife and i are in both and if she wins i get her seat so i like our odds.also just won a bar league made it to regionals took 1st at regionals, so i go to state feb 6-10 in WI were i will be able to play 1/2NL. also winning regionals gave me a 500 freeroll online in feb.2009 so far is going well!!

    I have been doing the same thing as Daniel on PStars but i started about 2 weeks prior to him. My roll is at $125 so I'm 3 levels or so along.Anyways here's the backstory:So today after about 100 hands I took a beat where i was all-in for around $20 at a .10-.25 table w/ Kings and some guy calls me with pocket 3s and makes a set on the turn.I re-bought for another $25 and about 30 hands later found myself having to move in with A-A and K-3-8 on the board. I was called by someone with K-10 and sure enough the river came a K.So now my roll was cut in half in one day, and my overall question is should I be putting a limit on how many hands I play in one session? Had I quit at 100 hands i never would have been steeming and took the 2nd beat. After reading DN's post on his progress I saw that he rarely plays more than 100 hands at a time. So do you guys think I should be regulating the # of hand I'm playing or did I just take a couple bad beats and I should get back to the grind???
    1. you should be at .01/.02 nlhe maybe take a shot at .02/.05 nlhe. 2. u want around 25-30 full buyins for the level.3. BAD BEATS WILL HAPPEN.4. i have no set amount of hands play as long as u feel good and are up to it.

    1/3 though the month update1.so far so good2. 204 hands so far.3. have only played 3 games so far took a few nights off and just got back from a little vacation with the wife.4. + $5.94 now5. + $ 706. haven't so far.

    won a 32 person free league tourny tuesday night to win a freeroll in a $45 tourny at local casino last night, went and played 55 players 20 min rounds 3k starting stack. ended up taking it down for $630 so i just deposited $500 on AP and have account with rakeback and and 1st deposit bonus going to start at 10nl (4table) and 1 table of 25 nl hope to get 8-10K by end of month and get roll to $600 adn with rake back and bonus start 09' at 25NL 5-6 tabling.
