  2. But in a STT I'm more interested in conserving my chips for the mid-late stages when those chips matter the most.
What chips will those be when you're passing up opportunities as good as raising JJ preflop into fairly loose opponents?
I'm fine with 3-betting for value here. You're a 2:1 favorite over what I estimate to be UTG+1's range. I think if you do 3-bet for value you should bet an amount that will create a little fold equity and get more value for your hand though.Raising to about 320 is much better than 220. As played I don't see any way you can fold before the flop. You're calling 140 into a pot of 1540. Flop is an easy fold.
I agree with raising more preflop. You should be looking to either end it here or take 1 or 2 people with you to the flop.If MP2 had better than JJ preflop, I think he would of reraised, rather than let more people into the pot by calling, so you could put him fairly easily on a flush draw.

  4. Learn to speak English you moron.
If I bet pot on the flop and then he raises it's an easier fold and it has cost me less. But checking the flop gives AK or AQ a chance to make a continuation bet. But is AK or AQ really within his UTG minraising range? Also if he calls my flop bet should I give up or bet again on the turn?

  6. If he's a calling station (which it sounds like) then bet between 2/3 and 3/3 of the pot. I tend to usually bet about half pot and would call a raise.Villian sounds like a passive player so I dont know if I'd call a shove.PS There shouldn't be an apostrophe in your title.

  7. I think I'm shoving here because of the fact that UTG has gone allin because he's got so little left. I think CO is only calling because he thinks the same about UTG and he has a fairly average hand that he'd like to see a flop with. Our M is pretty low and this is an opportunity to get some chips whether the CO calls our all-in or not.

  8. 4.) Reads. I've said in the past that reads are overrated. And I still somewhat stand by that, that physical tells are highly overrated. But live, I, and hopefully, you, can get a much clearer picture about the general strength or weakness. Certain body language, a certain 'aura' surrounding that player, seems to give off more about the 'feel' of the situation than anything else. I use that. A lot of it is internal, so I can't comment too much, but these reads play a vital part of my decision-making process and there is little, if any, of that going on online.
This 'aura' and 'feel' you talk about is your unconscious making decisions for you. Your unconscious will gather and collect information such as changes in posture, subtle facial expressions, as well as changes in tone, pace and volume in their voice without you even knowing, hence its name. It then ciphers through all this and decides what is useful and what it can understand based on previous experiences and then acts like on it. Ever felt your heart racing as you look down and see Aces or Kings. This why you think your game has improved because you have had a lot more experience at live poker then when you started out, obviously. Your unconscious has made associations with particular types of behaviour. So how do you improve at small ball? Play more poker and look for information and make associations. The great thing about our unconscious mind is that it does not depend on intelligence or age.A man and his son are in a car crash. The father dies at the scene of the crime. The son is rushed to hospital. The doctor on duty approaches the little boy and says with shock and surprise "this is my son". What relation is the doctor to the boy?If you've not come across this before, you'll have probably read that about 2 or 3 times because something doesn't 'feel' right. In an attempt to help your concious part of your mind make a decision the unconscious has made some assumptions, all based from past experiences. You can't figure them out because it's the unconscious that made them. The problem is designed to show how your unconscious can fail at its job. It made the assumption that the doctor was male, when in fact we consciously know this does not have to be true, women can be doctors too! Yet normally people cant get out of the idea that the doctor is male. This doesn't mean we're sexist. It just means that society portrays doctors as a male figure. This is from memory, but I read it in a book called Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.I'll happily go into more depth about how this applies to poker. It's just I dont like long posts.
  9. that just seems like you want us to predict a result to know if you would have been right...i suspect MP2 would have folded his hand, but the CO is a wildcard who could easily call you down with a naked ace
Sorry if it has come across like that but my underlying question is should I be thinking along the lines of a squeeze or should I be calling and playing post flop. BTW the answer is pretty clear now.
    Lern 2 spel.
Ha ha, prehaps you should learn to spell!
Oddly enough, the squeeze is more effective out of the blinds, because of your complete *lack* of position.. You can make everyone fold preflop and get that CB out on the flop as first to act, giving you two reasonable opportunities to take down that big pot.
Yeah, good point. Simo also mentioned to me, since MP2 is tight it might be a bad idea reopening the betting.
  10. Keep in mind that if you're going to do this, you must put a decent bet on the flop as well... regardless of what comes. If you're called, you surrender the pot.
It's not a squeeze play if I get called. My raise has to get them to fold otherwise I might as well call for the reasons below:
If he hasn't opened a pot in 4 hours then reraising here is crazy. Or genius, I'm not sure which.
I suppose without reads I call and play a flop with position. With reads and if they're fairly loose players then squeeeeeeze away. I think I should squeeze because the raiser's range is going to be fairly wide since he's MP2 and I'm not worried about CO.it turned out they had

    MP2: 88CO: A5o

so would a squeeze play of worked here? And by this I mean, would they have both folded preflop.

Is this an opportunity for a squeeze play? If so should I be raising to about $6 or $7?
