  1. I don't post on here much but just had a question that has been bugging me and I want to see what you all think. There is a lot of chaos going on with poker and the law. Online sites have been shut down in America and a few remain. Now my question is this.........Is anyone here paranoid that if you win your seat to the WSOP main event through Poker Stars and end up winning or placing real high and getting paid 1 million or more dollars, that the government will come after you? I mean think about it, if all these sites got scared and cut off all American players then obviously they are scared of something. What if they come and arrest you for illegaly winning your seat to the WSOP since you won through an online poker site which you were not allowed to do. I'm not going into too much detail on all this but that was the main point I wanted to make which is why if I play this year I will be going over there to try to win my seat not through online. I don't want to get fvcked over if I actually end up winning a nice amount. What is everyones thoughts on this matter?

  2. Hey Daniel, I just wanted to tell you one thing. You just wrote a long blog replying to the whole blackface accusations, but why? Maybe you are sensitive and these things get to you, which is not a big deal because that means you obviously care. But you have done this a few times with your defensive replies, but who cares man. Why are you wasting your time and energy replying to a few people on here that thought this was offensive, I mean just brush those people off. Funny blog btw :club:

  3. This is one of the few times I really felt a need to post. I know this has been talked about to death but I just had to comment on it. Daniel, this post is more specifically for you to read but anyone else can chime in if they please to. First off Daniel this is in no way an attack on you just because I am disagreeing, cause this is probably the only thing I have disagreed with when it comes to your views on things and I have a similar mindset and personality like yours (in short I would rather hang out with you or be friends with you over any of the 7 filing the lawsuit, just so you know that all this is, is a disagreement) just giving my opinion and wanted you to see my perspective and see if it changes your view on any of this. Just really short and to the point.I know you are saying that this might be really bad for poker and the timing is bad and the WPT has done so much for the players and without them none of this would exist. So in short, that is basically all the things you see wrong with this suit keeping it simple. Now my perspective…While I agree with you on every single one of your reasons why they shouldn’t file this lawsuit, I also agree with their reasons of why they should. And when I weighed both of the arguments together I would have to say they should still go for it. And my main reason that gets to me is because by now the WPT is a cash cow, sure everything that has happened for poker was started because of them but just because they did that for us doesn’t mean they should take advantage. I mean I really doubt they or any company like that just does all this for poker or people in general. They do it for the money and that is the bottom line. So yes we benefited from the WPT and hey so did they and in a big way and they have made a lot of money. So you can basically say the WPT and the players both benefited and that makes it equal. But what they are doing with the valuable intellectual property rights for their free use is what is so wrong and that’s why when you said in your V-blog all the WPT has done for us I just thought about all this. They have done a lot for us and made a lot of money also. So they don’t need to go beyond their programs to promote products and services of players and those players have no control. For that reason alone I think it is worth fighting for till the end. Even if it means risking a few things that you mentioned in your V-blog. I think it is such a big deal that they are using us in those ways that I would fight for this no matter the risk involved and have a passion fighting for it because the big cash cow WPT that has done so much for poker is also taking advantage of the fact that we should be so grateful and not say anything while they use us. And we put up our own prize pools, pay extra fees to the host casinos and also pay for our travel to these events. I could imagine Tiger Woods having to pay to play in the PGA tournaments and also giving up his rights. I don’t know, just felt like I should let this out and that they have their reasons that they are doing it and don’t feel so bad for the WPT in the ways of people not being grateful, because like I said they have made so much money now its ridiculous and they need to do the right thing. Yes it is at a bad time and yes it might put poker in a bad light at this time, butttt…… it is really worth it.This was of course all my opinion and just wanted you to see it in a different light maybe and closer to how they see it. Anyway that’s all; see you at the legends if you are coming out to L.A. maybe we’ll play against each other. And anyone else want to comment, feel free, would want to see if you guys agree or disagree.

  4. At the rate things are going, next year there will be a $100 buy in WSOP event were everyone gets 100 in chips with 25-25 blinds. Wouldn't that be fun? :D
Actually it would :club: . you would have a 5,000 player tournament end in 3 hours. Put up 100 dollars get lucky and win close to 200,000 in a few hours, sounds good you should suggest it next meeting :D .
  5. What are the blinds like for the 1,500 starting stack? Never played in a big event so I'm unaware.
They are going to start it out at 25-25, so they are giving 60 times the big blind. I mean I have seen worse in the local tournaments or the daily tournaments at casinos but the lowest I ever see nowadays is 40 times the big blind and that is for the 100 dollar and lower buy-ins.
  6. Hey Daniel, This is regarding the WSOP and its regular events. What in the world is up with the starting chip amounts? It seems they are doing it a chip for every dollar. So the first event after the employee event is the 1,500 dollar NL HOLD EM in which they are going to give us 1,500 in starting chips. Now I know a lot of this has to do with the fact that they are trying to speed up the tournament but you lose one decent pot in the beginning and you are already short stacked almost. If someone were to build a nice stack then midway to the end the structure is great due to the 60 minute levels and small increment jumps in blinds. but the beginning is what the problem is with our extremely low starting chip amount. I mean the Bike for their tournaments have been giving 10 times the buy-in for the starting chip amount and even at the Bellagio since the buy-ins were higher they would still at least give us double the buy-in, in chips. I just can't believe they are going to do a chip for every dollar you pay.Now I know you are on the committee for the WSOP so my question is, is there anything you can do about this or is it too late? Or have the poker players on the committee even brought this up ever? Thanks for listening and reading this if you ever do and you have been great for the poker world. For all the other posters, any input on this is more than welcome as well, would like to see what you guys think about this as well.As for me, this is my first post here. I am a regular on 2 + 2 but look forward to posting here as well and contributing whenever I can.
