  2. it happens at way higher limits live. 10-20 last weekend, a guy called my checkraise on the turn and bet on the river holding J9 on a 7788K board. he played the board, i played my 8s fullWhat were you doing in there with 8x aside from sucking out a full house on the turn?Just curious.
Smash why do you insist on being such a complete onanist?Just curious.
  3. I remember winning one while we were still in the 2nd blind level on Stars, which would make it less than 20 minutes. I don't have a more exact time than that.I got dealt AA in late position on the very first hand, and joined the all-in fest with seven players. It held up (don't ask me how), and I was sitting with over 10,000 chips after hand #1 to about 1500 for the other two folks who stayed clear.Too bad that was back when I was playing with play money.
I've had a similar situation in a real money sng, although I wasn't the lucky recipient of the all-in fest.6 people (I wasn't one of them) went all in on the first hand AA, AKs, KQs, JJ, 1010 and one other garbage hand. The Aces held up and the huge chipleader steamrollered the other 4 of us. I ended up finishing second in a little under 20 minutes.
  4. Can someone tell me what an old mucker is?
Get in there sunshine, good question ! Its like when you see a good friend of yours and you say hiya pal or something along those lines. In context 'How you doing my old mucker ?' I hope this answers your question or if someone else can do a better job, feel free !
Its obviously a Swindon thing. Those hicks from the sticks do tend to talk funny. :D
  5. Can someone please explain to me the fascination with soccer? I apparently just don't get it? We had the world cup qualifier in town yesterday and I know (wait let me count 2...4...7....yeah that sounds right) exactly 0 people that went. I'm not bashing it or anything I just don't understand why in some countries it is so popular. A little help.
Most people in other countries have exactly the same problem understanding why American Football is so popular with you guys.FFS only two players on each team actually play the ball with their feet and the rest use their hands. Shouldn't it more correctly be called American Handball? PS. I am not one of the people mentioned above. I love the game and the Steelers in particular - damn those pesky Pats
  6. IM PRETTY SURE I UNDERSTAND HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME.......................THE GUY WHO WROTE THE POST SAID THE 4 WAS ON THE BOARD NOT IN THE KIDS HAND
I'm absolutely certain you do not.........In Omaha you must use 2 of your hole cards and 3 cards from the board. The second kid cannot make a 5 card straight using both the 3 and 8 from his hand.
  7. The Flop was not checked, I said I bet out, you must have misread it. There was actually $100 in the pot after the flop, so calling a $20 bet wouldnt have been so bad on the turn to peel a card off. Besides the range of hands these guys hold are limitless, my pair of 8's might have been good. Betting out here with a pair of 7's is absolutely stupid with many players left in the hand. If you support this play, I'm not sure what to say.
You bet out with what you think is second pair and a runner-runner gutshot on the flop to see where you are at. No one raised you so no one seems to have a particularly strong hand. You, the post-flop aggressor, then check when a middle card hits the flop. So he guesses that you don't have a king otherwise you would have bet out again. So he figures his 2nd pair and OESD is worth a bet.It doesn't look such a horrible play to me.Also your post doesn't give any indications of the suits. Were there any flush draws possible?
  8. Well you'll be glad to hear that I lost even more last night, boosting my BB/hour up to +5.61BB/hr over the last 18 hours of play.Man if this is losing, then call me a loser all day long. I hate winning 101 big bets in 18 hours.
There goes that short term thinking again. How are you stats over the last 1800 hours?
Who cares? I'm close to jumping up to 1/2 so I really don't give a fuck. With your mentality one would never know if he's a winner or not, therefore, shouldn't even play for real money.Have fun with that.
Don't worry, I have fun every time I read one of your posts. As all good poker players know the only way to gauge whether you are a winner or not is to look at your long term results.
OK, I'll remember to post in here when I'm 92 years old. Only then will I know if I am a winner or not.Nice mentality, chap.
Hey JI started playing last night and in the very first hand I picked up a 26BB pot with a Jack hi str8 flush. Thats 20BB profit in about 1 minute which equates to 1200BB/Hr.Am I the greatest poker player ever or what???
  9. Should I be raising AJo from early position? Tough to say...you've got 'top pair' strength and 'straight' strength but no flush strength. I think this hand could be played all three ways. Fold, limp, or raise. Your raise here pushes out people that could enable your potential straight to be a big winner, but it also pushes out nominal hands that could flop 2 garbage pairs. Limping is probably the worst thing to do here. I think until your post-flop play improves, maybe you should fold this hand?
I think until your grasp of the game improves, maybe you should stop trying to give advice?

  12. I don't know why I bother with these things.
I don't know why you bothered either. The way you played your last two hands it seemed like you weren't taking it seriously or did you just get bored. Capping pre-flop with K-10 offsuit is not what we have come to expect from you :?
  13. I definitely would have played it the same way and folded on the flop. With two hearts on the flop even one of your 2 "outs" is a scare card so it could be argued that you only have one clean out and you definitely don't have odds, implied or otherwise, to call the flop bet in that case.

  14. In my experience his play (check/flat call) is more commonly going to indicate a flush draw Ac X. In which case your AQ is often going to be the best hand.Yes you saved 2BB this time, but you lose out on one BB all the other times when he was drawing and calls you down with A-rag.

  15. i thought i might post a JJ hand here that was interesting / baffling:[limit 2/4]EP calls. MP raises to 4.i have JJ in LP. i three bet up to 6. EP calls, MP calls.FLOP comes: Q Q 7EP checks, MP bets 2, i raise to 4. then EP raises to 6 on a C/R.[i think raising here is the best play, but after the EP raise i think it's a Q and i'm down to 2 outs]i call the last 2 with a groan.TURN comes: Q Q 7 [5]now EP checks? and MP checks. this is where i'm baffled. i end up checking [i should have bet here, but i choked. for some reason i thought EP might be making a stupid play to try and C/R again]RIVER comes another undercard.EP bets, MP calls, i call.EP has 77. MP mucked. i win with JJ.i wish i would have bet the turn.
If he had 77 wouldn't his 7s full of Qs beat your 2 pair?
  16. Thought they won the European Championship under him?Probably wrong.Sad day.
I think he was coaching at PSV in 88. Johnny Rep for some reason is who I think was coaching when Van Basten scored the greatest goal, EVER. seriously I get tingles every time I think about that goal
No Michels was definitely the manager in 88.He left the Holland job after the 1974 World Cup and had spells with Barcelona, Ajax, Los Angeles Aztecs and FC Cologne before returning to the Dutch national team in 1984/85 initially as technical director, but then as manager again during the 1986/97 season. He left to manage Bayer Leverkusen immediately after the 88 finals.Couldn't agree more about the MVB goal though!
  17. J. F., Can you even read? I am not joking. I am serious. I am not sure that you can.
Hello, my name is Samuel Van Jurgen, I am Mr. Farrell's internet interpreter. Mr. Farrell cannot read, he has an affliction which he dubs "I dunno man, the letters just get all mixed up in my head".For this reason, Mr. Farrell pays me 7 Big Bets per hour (at the .5/1 tables) to come on here, read to him what others wrote, and then to type in his response. Thank you for your understanding. This will be the last you hear from me, personally.Good day,S. Van Jurgen
I'd ask for a raise if I were you Herr Van Jurgen. $7 an hour is nowhere near enough to be risking your sanity by listening to his crazy ideas all day.
