  2. you guys suck with wants and wants and wants and wants....here's a poker thread for you.... how many play poker for the competitive - ness? i personally play only for the fun; hence live games, never internet.... and truly why i flame this sight when i get drunk is because it makes me sad to think so many of you intelligent people out there are transplanting that sense of 'possibility'* onto cards......... that's very vague...... what i mean is, there are many an intelligent youth you disagree with the way the world works and try to cop out by becoming poker players..... illigitimate youth..... i agree in the sense that i try my best not to participate.... i, as i expect most of you, are highly intelligent so the tests go, and find poker to be a great escape out of the moral burden of social protest.......(this sound heavy, and pretentious for those who don't agree) ..... and so to have this forum with all you great geniuses who have all this comedic genius and waste it all on poker is sad, because truly, at least for me, poker is only a way of ........ i'm tired of trying to make sensein conclusion,i think poker is a bad thing, a bad bad thing, at least for myself, because it creates a way for people (or at least myself) to control others without actually influencing what they think ...... that said, i think poker is a great great thing, because it allows people to think expansively..........contradictions don't exist, only hypocrisiisisisisy
There are some comments I need to make regarding Ispepi. But first, let me pose you a question: Is Ispepi actually concerned about any of us, or does he just want to allow federally funded research to mushroom into an ignominious, grossly inefficient system, hampered by merciless antagonists and the most contemptuous roustabouts you'll ever see? After reading this letter, you'll unquestionably find it's the latter. He wants to leave us in the lurch. What's wrong with that? What's wrong is Ispepi's gossamer grasp of reality. The most significant aspect of Ispepi's mentality and its lack of refinement is the closeness of Ispepi's way of thinking in general to the way that irascible humanity-haters think in particular. It is tempting to look for simple solutions to that problem, but there are no simple solutions. To inform you of the grounds upon which I base my solutions, I offer the following. Ispepi says that there is an international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids. That's his unvarying story, and it's a lie: an extremely humorless and raucous lie. Unfortunately, it's a lie that is accepted unquestioningly, uncritically, by Ispepi's vicegerents.I believe I have finally figured out what makes people like Ispepi promulgate partisan prejudice against others. It appears to be a combination of an overactive mind, lack of common sense, assurance of one's own moral propriety, and a total lack of exposure to the real world. While some of his personal attacks are very attractive on the surface and are undeniably entertaining, they ultimately serve to create new (and reinforce existing) prejudices and misconceptions. We can justifiably toss most of Ispepi's vainglorious promises onto our bursting bin of craven Ispepi prattle. And that's where we are right now. My prediction that he would sully a profession that's already held in low esteem came true so quickly, so brutally, so horribly, that even I was stunned by the magnitude and viciousness of it all. According to the dictionary, "Ispepi-ism" is "any of a set of hatchet jobs that block streets and traffic to the extent that ambulances can't get through". That said, let me continue. The justification Ispepi gave for seeking to perpetuate the nonsense known technically as the analytic/synthetic dichotomy was one of the most domineering justifications I've ever heard. It was so domineering, in fact, that I will not repeat it here. Even without hearing the details you can still see my point quite clearly: I respect the English language and believe in the use of words as a means of communication. Two-faced, doctrinaire troglodytes like Ispepi, however, consider spoken communication as merely a set of noises uttered to excite emotions in uneducated, dour lugs in order to convince them to overthrow western civilization through the destruction of its four pillars -- family, nation, religion, and democracy. An inner voice tells me that his newsgroup postings are merely a stalking horse. They mask Ispepi's secret intention to bring ugliness and nastiness into our lives. For those of us who make our living trying to prevent the production of a new crop of soporific ingrates, it is important to consider that he seems to have recently added the word "honorificabilitudinity" to his otherwise simplistic vocabulary. I suppose Ispepi intends to use big words like that to obscure the fact that his grotesque dream is starting to come true. Liberties are being killed by attrition. Incendiarism is being installed by accretion. The only way that we can reverse these despicable trends is to make efforts directed towards broad, long-term social change. To be precise, if he opened up his socially inept mind just a teeny-weeny little bit, maybe Ispepi could understand that. That's something you won't find in your local newspaper because it's the news that just doesn't fit. Ispepi's criticisms of my letters have never successfully disproved a single fact I ever presented. Instead, his criticisms are based solely on his emotions and gut reactions. Well, I refuse to get caught up in Ispepi's "I think … I believe … I feel" game. So, sorry for being so long-winded in this letter, but Ispepi's flimflams are colored and flavored to appeal to beer-guzzling, whiney Neanderthals.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAthat was the best post i've ever read here.
