  1. I understand that you don't play online, I don't play as much online as most members either, but it has its advantages (like this promo). I am no preacher but if you find a promotion that you really want to take part in you may have to bite the bullet and at least create an account. I would rather deposit a few dollars into an online account with a chance of winning a promo tourney then spend it in a poker room with no chance of getting any perks. You don't necessarily need to be a paying member of fcp.com or fcp.net to get a freeroll ticket for the Protege promo. For Charter Members (Signed up to be a charter member before Dec 1/05 for the site relaunch) you just needed to have an account before Dec 31/05 with no real money in it.Just my 2 cents

  2. I have never played poker in a card room and could use some advice and/or information. I have played online at Ultimatebet occasionally for a couple of years so I have most of the basics down but it is really boring (who wants to spend all of their time in front of a computer). I have been thinking about playing in a b&m for a while but don't want to look like an idiot during my first session.First of all, general questions regarding card room play:- How much is the average rake or half hour payoff usually going to be?- Do low limit cash games have an ante, if so how much is it?- How much of a buy in should I invest for a couple hours of play?- Is there any other head's up things that some seasoned veterans can throw my way to make this less intimidating?Secondly, if anyone has played in Edmonton, Canada:- There are a handfull of poker rooms around here, Which is your preference and why?- Does anyone know what the low limit blinds are in these card rooms? If anyone can help me out I would appreciate the comments. Thanks
