  1. I mean we all know what bet was made, the argument is what's fair. There's a lot to be said about being a fair and honorable gambler.
wasn't there a similar situation between gank and sowers awhile ago for a monthly tlb bet? I think it's really stupid to be betting on other people unless a provision is made that there is no buying out and the two will finish to the best of their abilities. If I were in Fargo's shoes and saw this thread and wanted to bet on vt a "buyout" clause wouldn't have even crossed my mind. I'm thinking I'm either gonna win or gonna lose. So when VT buys out I really can't believe anyone on this forum would say that fargo doesn't deserve his 60% or 40% or whatever vts buyout was back. It'd be incredibly scummy if tj just kept whatever amount fargo bet with him, and my argument is not whether tj technically doesn't owe fargo anything but what is the right, honorable, thing to do aka what an arbitrator would decide. It was a small sum of money so obviously it doesn't mean much to tj but I'd hope he'd do the same thing if the bet was for 100k. Imo it's more fair for fargo to just get back his wager than to have to pay TJ the entire bet. I am trying to look at this from a completely unbiased point of view but can't believe some of the responses in this thread. If it were me betting on vt, which i obv wouldn't do cuz he sucks at the pokerz, I would have been just as mad as fargo was initially when he thought he'd have to pay the whole $150 and I woulda made sure to point out what's fair, honorable, non scummy, etc. when trying to come to a decision, which was made correctly in the end. I also agree with everything loosh has said in this thread.
  2. I wrote a rant like two weeks ago on another site about how terrible Harrah's/the Rio/WSOP(HRW) was, and Shulman's sentiments pretty much echo mine and I'm sure many other player's. He is not trying to disrespect tradition and all that, just Harrah's and the entire way they do business. I also respect him for sticking to his statements even after he made the final table. I hope he wins and tips $0.

  3. I though this movie was absolutely hilarious, and I was one of the few people I knew who didn't find Borat very funny. So many ridiculously funny scenes, I didn't have high expectations going in because Cohen's Borat character was much better in skits on the Ali G show than Bruno, but this movie was pretty much nonstop laughs. There were a few scenes where I laughed harder than I have in years.

  4. that is complete bullshit ozi. All these rules are left up to the discretion of the dealer/floor who sometimes will ignore shit like this and sometimes will be an ignorant ass like he was in your case. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about his ruling except write a formal letter of complaint. I agree it's complete bs, and it really sucks this shit had to happen to you. Just another reason to not give Harrah's/Rio/WSOP any business.

  5. From everything I've read and heard, almost every original trekkie(I doubt any post on this forum) that were hippies growing up in the 60s absolutely love this film. I am guessing they will keep seeing this movie and after all the money it made the first week, it will not fall off drastically the following week like Wolverine did. I'm guessing Star Trek pulls in at least another $30 million next week. Also, I think the movie definitely accomplished one of it's main goals - appeasing the original fans while bringing in new fans to the franchise. They made a movie that everyone can find exciting, entertaining, and just downright awesome. There are some people who don't like the movie but they are heavily outweighed by the people who loved it.

  6. My favorite line from the episode before this.Jesse "So what are we gonna build?"Walt "You already said it."Jesse "A robot?"Since the first time I saw the pool scene at the beginning of an episode I've been wondering what the connection was since it wasn't a foreshadowing of that particular episode's ending. I agree now it's likely the seaon finale's ending, but I'm wondering who those two body bags are? Could be bad guys, maybe even Hank or Walt Jr.? This show is so good.

  7. I was never a huge Star Trek fan, I watched the Next Generation tv show and a few of the movies. I went to see this new Star Trek movie with my dad, who is in his mid 50s and was a pretty big original Star Trek fan. I really enjoyed the movie, despite not knowing all the little intricacies that were placed in the movie that my dad knew. Like Sulu and the fencing/sword references. There were many of these spliced throughout the movie that were meant for the hardcore fans. I thought the movie was a really well done action movie with great potential for sequels. Also, for those that may not have understood some of the back story on Nero/Spock, such as how Nero obtained the red matter, what the red matter was, and how his ship turned from a simple mining ship to an ultimate destroyer, there is a 4 part comic series that came out recently that is a "prequel" to the movie starring Spock, Piccard, LaForge, Warf, and Data in the future. Having read the comic miniseries I wasn't confused at all about any elements of the plot but I could see how some people might be a little confused without the full backstory. Also, having the original Spock in the movie was necessary and a great decision imo. As soon as he appeared on the screen the entire theater let out a thunderous applause. No one captures the essence of the original series like Spock, and to the old time Trekkies he is like their god.Anyway, my dad absolutely loved it. He said it was his favorite Star Trek movie and one of his all time favorite movies, right up there with Apollo 13. The producers did an amazing job capturing the spirit of Star Trek and the characters. I'm guessing that almost all Star Trek fans that grew up watching the series will love the movie and probably see it more than once. Even though the movie appeals to a wide audience, the hard core fans who are mostly older are really in for a treat.

  9. This would have been so much better at a slightly slower pace, say Awesome finds out about chuck being a spy in one episode, then next episode chuck and sarah make out, then the episode after that chuck gets the intersect out of his head. As it was I enjoyed this weeks episodes but the whole time I felt things were forcibly moving too fast and by the end I was like, wtf, is this the final episode of Chuck? There seems to be one more episode for this season, where I'm sure there'll be more crazy plot advances setting up whatever is supposed to happen in season 3. Unfotunately, because the episodes in the middle of the season were not that interesting and the chuck-sarah storyline was moving so slowly, the show was getting low ratings and there's supposedly at least a 50/50 chance this show gets cancelled. I really hope it doesn't, but I can understand why if it does and I blame the shows producers/creators for waiting so long to let everything happen.

  10. Methinks another twist be coming. Tony didnt kill moss. Just blacked him out. wait and see. Why would tony blow the rockets if he was really bad?
Oh, Moss is really dead. To convince the viewer about Tony really being evil they had him suffocate Moss with his bare hands instead of just shooting him.Maybe Tony is working for a higher power than Jonas? Jack's father could be a candidate.Tony is obviously still mad that the government kidnapped Michelle and put her on an island.I hope they don't kill Tony this season, but you'd think either Tony or Kim has to die, if not both.
  11. I hope Kim gets kidnapped to bring back some fond season 1 memories. If only she stayed 18.Also, who didn't realize Tony was gonna turn out to be the true evil mastermind?I suspected it for awhile, but as soon as Jack said it was solely up to Tony to save the day by destroying the gas tanks I was just wondering when he would show his true colors. Predictable 24 plotline, save the day by stopping the terrorists, then do an about face and BAM! become the evil terrorist and kill the head of the FBI.Also was pretty obvious Moss was gonna get killed by Tony when he told the cops to take the cuffs off him and that he did a brave thing for his country and all Tony could say was - thanks, but it's time to answer for my crimes. Yehhhhh right. But don't fret, Tony will likely be killed by Jack in the finale after Kim saves him from death by sacrificing herself.I still have enjoyed this season more than the past two. Still seasons 1-4 are the best imo.
