  3. I'm sitting at Argosy Casino in Indiana last night playing 1-3, when in walks Capt. Tom's girl Brandi to sit at my table. I didn't recognize her until she immediately started ratlling off the story of her and the Capt. I said you're the 2+2 girl and she looked at me like I was crazy. Quite the name dropper she is.On a bad note.....she did bluff me off of my QQ on a A high flop!!

  4. Hey Nutz - How far along are they on the casino renovation? I go out there every year in March for the b-ball tourney. Went in Dec. and they had half of the casino done. Just curious. I'm going back out on March 14.The old poker room at Aladdin was really cool. It was in the enclosed area in the middle of the casino. I suspect the new one will be good when they get it done. I've cleaned up in poker every time I've been there, so I hope the games don't change too much!!

  5. I stopped by the Fontana lounge on Sunday evening. Saw Devilfish at the final table. Marcel Luske and Amarillo Slim were sittting down to play a satellite. Allen Cunningham was playing in the 2500 event. Dutch Boyd and Bryan Devonshire were hanging out taking in the action.I played at the Aladdin all weekend. Took 3rd and 5th in two tournies and scored a little profit in the 1-2 NL. Pretty good weekend overall.Oh yeah, also saw Daniel hanging out at the Rio poker room on Friday night.

  6. Did you read my blog? I re-raised in this tournament pre-flop a TOTAL of five times. Once with JJ and QQ, and once with AK. Later, I did it two more times with AK when I got shorter on chips. I don't re-raise before the flop very often. This looked like a good spot to give myself a chance to double up and win a big pot. When the play works people think you are a genuis, but the rare occasion when the guy is able to draw out on AA people are so quick to say how bad a play it was to slowplay them, lol. If I win that pot I become a real force in the tournament with over 500,000 in chips. I was actually hoping that the button or one of the blinds would re-raise pre-flop. They were all pre-flop players so the play was even more perfect for that set of guys. The button thought about it for a while bit then mucked.
It looked like a good play to me. He's probably not calling a pre-flop all-in with K6. If he doesn't get lucky and hit both cards on the flop, DN would've got the max out of the hand. If DN moves pre-flop, I think he loses out on some potential chips.
  7. i don't know if i could have laid it down. I guess it would depend on my financial situation!!Could I afford to lose 250k and keep on going..if so i might have called!who know :club:
I know I couldn't have. My wife was actually sitting next to me watching it. I looked at her said, "Honey, I would've lost every penny we had right there." She immediately took my laptop away.
  8. Yeah if you were serious about bankroll management. I doubt that the pros are though, my guess is that they only have a couple of hundred thousand in their accounts. If you read "The professor, the banker and the suicide king" you'de realize that Ted Forrest had 500k as a bankroll for playing in the 4k/8k game, that's only 62 big bets!
If I recall, though, wasn't just what he had in his box at Bellagio? I'm sure he also had some in LA if he was commuting that frequently.
  9. i was pleasantly suprised at the structures i saw when i was in vegas last week. In LA the best you could even hope for is a 200 max buy-in table with 2/5 blinds. Meanwhile in Vegas i played in a 500 max buy-in table with 1/2 blinds. Unfortunately everyone was a nit and they were all scared to lose their buy-ins. I eventually played at the Aladdin which had a 200 (or 300 - cant remember) max buy-in with 1/2 blinds and the action was fast and loose and i was able to do well. Starting with 250 big blinds is awesome, but even more so if its a loose table. I cleaned up in that game at Aladdin in March. It was fast and loose then!!
