  1. Hello all. I'm always looking for a good tournament in Ohio if anyone knows of any. I'm involved in many home tournaments, and would like to venture into something larger. I live in NW Ohio, and would be willing to travel a couple hours for a good tournament. Thanks for the info.

  2. I've played in and finished in top positions in quite a few tournaments by being the "friendly-yet-mysterious" guy at the table. I don't talk a lot because it distracts me from my game plan. This may not apply to most people who have the "gift of gab", but it works well for me. I openly congratulate the winning hand, and I humbly rake in chips when I win myself. I NEVER show my cards. I probably play the bluff roughly 40% of the time, most typically with 2 or 3 players in the hand. This works especially well when there is A-5-5 on the flop. I won't hesitate to be aggressive with this flop. Sometimes I get called out on it, but the rewards outweigh the penalty most of the time.

  3. I would like to genuinely thank everyone who took the time to answer my question so elaborately. Your advice will not go unheeded in my future games. Like I stated before, I am new to this forum but by no means am I new to "the game". So I will try to offer some advice along the way as well. Thanks again for all the support, and best of luck in your tournaments. Merry Christmas to all!

  4. :D Hey folks, new to the forum. I've played many home texas hold'em tourneys as well as online. My record is very good and I guess I consider myself more of a keen player than a good one. My biggest fallacy lies before the flop. When I find myself holding, say, and A-K unsuited and I'm the 4th player to bet... the 3 players before me make a simple call or a BB raise. Is this hand worthy of calling the raise or even re-raising? For the sake of simplicity, we'll say everyone at the table is at least reasonably good.I appreciate any feedback. This site kicks Ace!
