First of all, this was years ago, I was ignorant and unaware of all the evil people out there like scammers. I trusted people, but I have learned to be more suspicious of everyone now and will never do anything like that again as mentioned in my original post.Second, after reading more of those horror stories from www.paypalsucks.com, I'm surprised they are still in business. I mean, they have horrible customer service and business practices. I think the only way they are able to stay in business is always siding in a way that favors them, like in my case, even though the buyer used the money, but then did an illegal chargeback, PayPal still wants to cash in on it and try to take money from people like me cause that's the only way they know how to operate.This. Either deal with the calls, or get an attorney and waste more time/money. Everybody gets scammed throughout life, so just pay up what you owe and stop the bleeding. Costly life lesson. At this point, you should just offer them a settlement deal for like 40% of the debt. After 4 years, they should take it.BTW - Don't hate on Paypal. It was not their fault you entered into a risky transaction with an unknown person. Hope it works out. -
Why would I pay when the money was already transferred to the other person? That would just mean I lose money, when it is the other person that PayPal should be trying to collect from.or you know, you could pay it. -
Wait, so the other person who I transferred the money to, does a chargeback on their credit card, and PayPal thinks I owe them? What the other person did was commit credit card fraud. Shouldn't PayPal be after them for the money instead?I remember even reporting that user to PokerStars security back when this all started and they said all the money transferred to the other person lost it to legitimate players on the site, otherwise, I'm sure they could have revered the transactions. So, basically, what you guys are saying is I'm screwed and there's no way to fix it. I guess I just have to wait it out. After all it was almost five years ago since the scammer pulled that credit card stunt, so I guess I might as well wait for the statute of limitations to expire, which I'm guessing isn't much longer in the state of California.Btw, what happens if debt collectors continue to harass me for this debt that I don't even owe after the statute of limitations has expired? Is that illegal?

Okay, before you guys say I told you so, this all started almost 5 years ago in 2006, and I was unaware of scams and scammers. I know better now, and will not let it happen again. So, anyways, here's my problem. Someone paid me on PayPal for PokerStars funds. (Yes, I know now, don't ever do those transfers.) Then PayPal reversed those transactions saying I may be the recipient of unauthorized funds and tried to take it from my PayPal account. Luckily, I had just withdrawn everything out if it. So, it leaves me with a negative balance and PayPal. I file a complaint with them and they are siding with the other person. So, then they lock my account and submit my name to a collection agency. So, I decided fine, I'm never going to use PayPal again. Anyway, a few months later, I get a letter and a call from some collection agency. I did some research and found there are limits to what they can do, so I just ignored them. After a while the notices stop.Fast forward 4 and a half years later to this past weekend, I get a letter from another collection agency (guess they bought my name of the list) and receive an automated call from them as well. Every day this past week, they try to call me.My question is, what can I do? I want my name of that list. It does not belong there as I have proof of all the relating funds transfers from Stars to the other person who actually has money. Are there any law people out there that might be able to help me?

Well, my answer to the flip situation is not a yes, cause I wouldn't wonder about it. Also, no 3 outter was hit, as I didn't get outdrawn cause I was behind the whole way.I was seriously on the border at the time that hand was going on. I debated for a while between folding and calling.p.s. I'm not exactly a new poster. I just don't post much. Also, for that matter, I've been playing live poker for about 18 years now, except back then we mostly played 5-card stud and 5-card draw poker. Yes, I'm an old fart.Stop being results oriented! That could seriously be the biggest set back in anybody's attempt to get better at poker. Before you have a question about a hand ask: Would I really wonder this if I won the flip? Or did I play it right and villain just hit a 3 outter on me? If you answer yes to these questions..." -
Well, obviously. I mean, why would I have second thoughts about it otherwise.Thank for all the replies from you all though. I wasn't sure if it was the right move at the time, but since so many of you agree it makes me feel better that I made the right play.your only worried about the hand because you lost. -
First let me say, this is not a bad beat, since I had the worst hand going in, but I do have questions about it.Playing in a Step 1 on Stars, we are down to 3 handed so we are all basically freerolling, since 3rd place gets a Step 1 re-rentry ticket. The only info that I was able to notice about the button is that he is a push/fold specialist, meaning anytime he plays a hand he just goes all-in.Anyway, here is the hand. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 7.5 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 25 Ante (3 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Okay, so my friend said for a successful stop and go basically there's a preflop raise and then you go all in against your opponent and win the pot.So, I was playing a Double or Nothing on PokerStars and we were on the bubble. It got folded around to me in the small blind. I raised, the big blind called. I see that I have flopped a straight and so I go all in and my opponent calls and I win the pot. Is that how the Stop and Go technique works? Please ignore that fact I raised preflop with J8o and have a medium stack. I know I had much better options. I was just trying to see if I was doing the stop and go method properly.I have pasted the Hand History below:PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $100 + $8 Tournament, 75/150 Blinds 15 Ante (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comBB (t2495)UTG (t1355)MP (t1315)CO (t5650)Button (t1845)patho (SB) (t2340)Preflop: patho is SB with J

Actually, I didn't just call. I re-raised all-in. Right move? Obviously, I think it was, since that's what I did.You got your money in good. For what it's worth, I'd probably have called as well. -
Uh, I assume that means something for bad beat forum or something. Um, I know it's a bad beat, I said I'm not complaining about it. I was looking for advice or suggestions.Standard. bbfidts -
So, here's the situation. I'm playing a $10+1 27 man Sit and Go on PokerStars and top 5 get paid. We're down to the last table, and I have like a litte more than average. The shortest stack shoves in kinda early position. It gets folded to me and I have AcKc. I figure he's kinda desperate and would shove with any two cards. Now here's my train of thought. I'm thinking, I can fold it and just play it safe and make it into the money. Or, I can try and get myself in a position for a top 3 or better finish. I figured, if I was going to play this hand, my best move would be to isolate and try and get it heads-up, so I reraised all-in. I ended up losing the hand, and I'm not gonna complain about getting beat cause I know it happens and I've been on both ends of suck outs. But, my question is, would it have made sense to fold it and just try and cash? Oh, for anyone who cares, I ended up like one away from the bubble. :(Hand history below:PokerStars Game #35530026027: Tournament #213770446, $10+$1 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level VIII (200/400) - 2009/11/18 14:36:01 ETTable '213770446 3' 9-max Seat #4 is the buttonSeat 1: Marmotin1968 (5680 in chips) Seat 2: poulosplayer (4180 in chips) Seat 3: Benny Binion (3440 in chips) Seat 4: patho (4299 in chips) Seat 5: Mingomat (2700 in chips) Seat 6: JAY54BEAR (8433 in chips) Seat 7: DRAZIKE (5403 in chips) Seat 8: vector001 (4260 in chips) Seat 9: mr weasley (2105 in chips) Marmotin1968: posts the ante 25poulosplayer: posts the ante 25Benny Binion: posts the ante 25patho: posts the ante 25Mingomat: posts the ante 25JAY54BEAR: posts the ante 25DRAZIKE: posts the ante 25vector001: posts the ante 25mr weasley: posts the ante 25Mingomat: posts small blind 200JAY54BEAR: posts big blind 400*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to patho [Kc Ac]DRAZIKE: folds vector001: folds mr weasley: raises 1680 to 2080 and is all-inMarmotin1968: folds poulosplayer: folds Benny Binion: folds patho: raises 2194 to 4274 and is all-inMingomat: folds JAY54BEAR: folds Uncalled bet (2194) returned to patho*** FLOP *** [4c Qd Jh]*** TURN *** [4c Qd Jh] [Kh]*** RIVER *** [4c Qd Jh Kh] [8d]*** SHOW DOWN ***mr weasley: shows [Ad Ts] (a straight, Ten to Ace)patho: shows [Kc Ac] (a pair of Kings)mr weasley collected 4985 from pot*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 4985 | Rake 0 Board [4c Qd Jh Kh 8d]Seat 1: Marmotin1968 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 2: poulosplayer folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 3: Benny Binion folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 4: patho (button) showed [Kc Ac] and lost with a pair of KingsSeat 5: Mingomat (small blind) folded before FlopSeat 6: JAY54BEAR (big blind) folded before FlopSeat 7: DRAZIKE folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 8: vector001 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 9: mr weasley showed [Ad Ts] and won (4985) with a straight, Ten to Ace

Thanks for all the support guys. I had a lot of fun. I probably won't play in another one in a while, though. It was just a one time thing. I think I'll stick to my micro limit games. Well, maybe low limit now, with a slightly bigger bankroll.

Oh well. I'm out. Finished in 1986th place out of 18283.

Same as on here: pathoGood work =)Whats your name on ps? -
Woot. I made it in the money. So far so good, considering this is my 1st Sunday Million. Bought in from a Step 2 level, so not a bad ROI if I do say so myself.
-
Wish me luck fellow FCP'ers. As I will cheer for you guys as well. Any last minute advice/tips?

Thank you, Vtlaxer09.I was just excited and wanted others to be happy for me.

What's the shortest time it took you do win at one of these? I just played a $10.40 Turbo Double or Nothing on PokerStars and it lasted exactly 11 minutes. It only took 13 hands. We barely just got to Level 3. It was Tournament #181996338, in case someone wanted to look it up for proof.

So, I wrote back to the first response I got from them and here is their reply.---------start of my initial response--------Dear Melissa,Yes, I understand that for newly deposited bonus money they can expire, but my bonus dollars were saved up from over 2 years without ever expiring. I never got any notification that my old ones would expire. If I had known, I would've cleared it in a day. All I want are my bonus dollars back otherwise I might not play here anymore.I am going to post this issue on the poker forums that I'm an active part of to see if this happened to others and what they are going to do about it.------------End-------------------Start of UB support reply--------Thank you for contacting us.We apologize for the delay in our reply. Although we strive to answer all e-mails both thoroughly and promptly, occasionally our customer service agents receive an inordinate number of requests, which can lead to minor delays. Please note that according to our terms and conditions:7.3 We reserve the right to cancel, change or substitute the rewards or the Program at any time with or without notice. Required point levels to redeem rewards are subject to change with or without notice. We understand that you feel mad, however after checking your account we noticed that you have released $10 in the last 9 months. If you calculate you are not being affected severely at all. Your Bonus Dollars were practically stall. We appreciate your patience and are always more than happy to assist you. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.Best regards,MikhailCustomer Support DepartmentUltimateBet.com-------------End of reply------------So, I just sent them this reponse and am waiting to see what they will say.--------Start-------Dear Mikhail,The fact that my pending bonus dollars were stall, is beside the point. If I had know they were going to expire, I would've cleared it in like a day.Doesn't matter anyways, cause I took all my money out since I have no more bonus dollars to play for. Related side note, how do I get the last 55¢ out? I was only able to get full dollar amounts. Also, I have a $270 Step 8 ticket left. Is there any way you guys would just jack that too, if I don't use it? Cause that's real money, not a promotional program.------------

No, I never got any message like that, if I had I would've been more active and tried to clear as much of it as I could. Also, why is your message dated 7/21? That's the date I called and emailed them, even though they changed the bonus policy on the 1st.I don't know why, but I got an email from UB telling me when my bonus $ where going to expire. I got the one below on 7/21.Dear XXXXXXXXXThis is a friendly reminder to let you know that you currently have $101.00 awaiting release from your Pending Account at UltimateBet. These pending bonus funds will expire on 2009-07-29 if they have not been converted to your available cash balance before then. You can easily convert these bonus funds to cash by playing poker. Simply play in either our ring games or our tournaments and the funds will be converted as you earn points for playing in raked hands and as you contribute to tournament buy in fees. Bonus dollars are released in $5 increments. For more detail on how to convert your pending bonus dollars visit the RAI$E bonus release page below:http://ultimatebet.com/poker-rewards-loyal...m/bonus-dollars If you have any questions about the conversion process or our expiration policy, please feel free to email us at support@UltimateBet.com. We greatly appreciate your support and participation. We look forward to seeing you at the tables soon! Sincerely, The UltimateBet Team -
Here is the reply I got from the UB email support:-------------Dear Mr. [XXX]Thank you for contacting us.According to our terms and conditions, bonus dollars expire 90 days after they were credited. For this reason, we have removed them from your account since they exceeded this period of time.We have made very few changes to our terms and conditions over the years, but from time to time business considerations require that we review our promotions and make change. However the requirements of releasing them have not been modified at all, so bonus dollars will be released at the same current rate. Our play-through requirements to earn bonus funds have been adjusted in accordance with industry standards. Please keep in mind that at UltimateBet you can release your bonus dollars in a very easy way. Unlike many other sites, we offer credit towards releasing pending bonus funds for tournament play, especially since many of our players prefer this type of action so this is an advantage our players have. Although releasing bonuses may appear to be difficult, once you distinguish between the different tables, SnGs and tournaments that award points faster, bonuses can actually be released in the specified period without any trouble. For more information, please visit this link:http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-rewards-l...m/bonus-dollarsPlease do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything else we can do for you.Best regards,MelissaMelissaCustomer Support DepartmentUltimateBet.com-------------This is useless. It does not help me get my bonus dollars back. Doesn't matter anyways, since I took most of my money out.

Only reason I would still play there is to try and hit the bad beat jackpot, but you know, I don't even think it's worth it anymore. I never hit it anyways.Alright, I just withdrew all of my money from there, except for 55¢ cause they don't deal with cents when making deposits and withdrawals. Now, I just have to figure out how to get my $270 Step 8 ticket out, before they decide to stop running step tournaments and take that from me as well.
-
Oh, okay. Thanks. Gee, so there job there is just to find more and more ways to screw their customers? Maybe, I should just cash everything out and never play there anymore.
-
I had like eight or nine hundred dollars built up over two years of deposits and now all of a sudden it went to zero. This all happened without warning. I understand if the new deposit bonuses would be affected and expire after they changed their rules, but I don't think the bonuses from previous deposits should go away as well.I have called their deposit center through the 800 number they have posted and all they did was tell me, "No, they expire after 90 days." And just told me to email support cause they can't do anything and only handle money issues. Well, what the heck to you think this is? Well, I never got any notification of a 90 days expiration date or that my old pending bonus dollars would expire. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do other than emailing support, which I will do as well, of course.

To me the zombie apocalypse sounds fun, but I think I'd rather choose one of the quick and and easy ways to go, like and explosion or something.
