  1. Canterbury is an 18 and over establishment. The games are incredible... and they spread limits from 2/4 all the way to 30/60. Good time... best run room I have ever been in. Enjoy!!
  2. think he said it had to be televised final table... assuming all open events for WSOP are included as well... just a guess
  3. I've had numerous 20 hours session and 3-5 in the 30 hour range. My longest session was a 41 hour session. I started playing 15/30 holdem on Friday at about noon and played till noon the next day... at noon they spread a 20/40 HO game which was juicy so I took my chips and bought some more and played in that game until 5am Sunday for a total of about 41 hours. At the end of the session I ended up playing heads-up with a guy for about 5 hours and managed to get ahead 300 for the total session. I have since began to limit myself and the amount of long sessions that I play. I wasn't right fo
  4. Your wait is over... I saw his book in Borders last week... it is published by 2 plus 2. 29.95... skimmed it... seems like it is just another book... but who knows.
  5. This is a typical omaha situation... you both flopped the nut hand... however you both had a redraw... I think you should have called his raise on the flop b/c your redraw is not as strong... and you can easily be beat...Once he raises and it gets heads up... then you need to proceed cautiously... once the turn comes... get all the money in... I wouldn't say you played poorly... its not like you didn't have a redraw... but you were a little aggressive in that you had no flush draw and no redraw to a better straight...My main concern with your play is that you played the hand preflop... I don
  6. I play almost exclusively live... In my home casino I play anywhere from 10/20 to 20/40... which is biggest they spread. When I travel I play anything from 20/40 to 40/80. I also play Omaha High, Omaha H/L, HO both PL and 20/40 in addition to hold'em.
  7. No just implying that if other casino games were legal in CA... commerce may not be as big...Don't get me wrong love the commerce... just pointing out the effects of the market situation on the economics of the matter...
  8. I never said that they don't make money having their poker rooms... what I said was that they don't make as much money on a square footage basis as they would if there was a bank of slot machines instead!!Commerce is the biggest card room in the world b/c it is in the biggest state in the US... which outside of Indian casinos does not allow for casinos to exist... just card rooms and games of skill can be played according to CA law.... So the fact that CA is biggest state and people like to gamble in general... but can't play games like craps and BJ in CA... Commerce and the such have a de fa
  9. My theory is that the good dealers are intelligent enough to figure out if they are getting stiffed by people and could make more doing something else then they are going to get a better job... leaving us with bad dealers! That's not even vaguely true. Were it, places like Commerce wouldn't have massive hotels built with rake sitting next to them. Vegas casinos probably make more money from poker players playing other casino games than they do from them playing poker, but they're certianly not LOOSING money by having 100 players in thier house most of whom will play craps or blackjack or whatev
  10. You may be right... but without tipping the good dealers... how long do you think we will have good dealers?? Tipping the good dealers encourages them to do a good job and thus keeps them in that line of work... otherwise the only dealers that will be left will be the crummy ones... and then our EV goes down b/c the games are no good and not entertaining... etc... I hope you see the point in that... on the note of closing pokerrooms... it may not happen... but it has happened in the past... history has a tendency of repeating itself...
  11. Like was mentioned earlier... it is normally Omaha 8...When played in a tournament... you usually play each variation for 30 minutes and continue to do that until you have a winner...If its a ring game... it depends but normally you play a round of each game... and then switch... not sure... I typically only play in a 20/40 HO game on Fridays... not real sure how they would do a ring game with the stud variants...
  12. Red, Let me draw it out for you... Let's say you own your own business... a poker playing business...Your business particpates in the local 15/30 trade or field... your business creates about 66,000 per year in revenue...From that you pay your bills and expenses... tipping... of say 6000What you have left over is your income... or net income before taxes, amortization, and depreciation...Now what all you non tippers fail to realize... is that the casinos have an oppurtunity cost of spreading games in a poker room... the rake and tipping is a small charge for us to incur for the privilage o
  13. The reason they will not play a straight PLO game with him is that he is generally regarded as the best PLO player in the world... so they try to play a mix of games to nuetralize his +EV that he experiences in PLO... that is why they also play stud and stud H/L and hold'em etc. to balance out everyone strengths... and then only the best all around players will win...
  14. I really hope you all that don't want to tip... stay home and play on the internet...For what its worth... you pros... and I consider myself one... should expect to incur certain expenses... during the course of doing your job... tipping is one.I believe that a good dealer should be tipped and a bad dealer should not... in Vegas and most places that is what happens...However, in my home casino... the dealers all split tokes... so the bad get to survive on the backs of the good dealers... which is truely unfortunate... however, I still tip the good dealers... b/c they are doing their job... and
  15. I would potentially be more inclined to call here... maybe... depending on my read of the first 2 players...My read of the situation would be that...I have Q-Q...Trembler and next player all in are the players that I would worry about and need to put on a hand...What does trembler have??He could have a monster... however, I have also played with many players who are new to the game that tremble when they are getting out of line as well... trembling is not a solid tell in my opinion...I don't agree with the logic of him having K-K... If I read my player to be a solid player I would put him on
