Buy in for casino trip

Recommended Posts

hey all.. just had a quick question for all you casino players out there. i usually play NL at the borgata, where buy in is like 300 bucks.... im back in school now, and cant really handle the swings at this point. my limit game has really been improving, and im gonna give it a shot.im thinkin of playin some 3/6 or 4/8.... are these games as loose as the 2/4's traditionally? the 2/4 limit is a joke there (thats saying alot after playing the NL... lol) i want a real game.... not a bunch of family pots... i know its a good game for some, but it just annoys me. also, what would a good buy in be for these games.

You're still going to find those games to be fairly loose. Maybe not as much as the 2/4, but the 3/6 can get crazy sometimes. The 4/8 games I've played in at various casinos have been loose as well. Remember, 4/8 might be alot to a normal person, but people who are there to gamble and have fun, and/or who have alot of money to spend, don't care what the betting limits are. So you'll find yourself at the table with different types of people, those who have no respect for the money, those who are like you and ready to play some poker for profit, and then you have people who die everytime they get raised and fold because it's too expensive for them.If you are buying into the 3/6 I would suggest taking $500-600, but no less than $300. With the 4/8 I would take $600-800 but no less than $400.
