  1. TONY SOPRANO…NEW OWNER OF THE TAJ MAHAL ?!I like the sound of that. I’m Tony Soprano and I’m thinking about buying the Taj. Yeah, I might offer “The Donald” a good deal…a real good deal…one that he can’t refuse.though. For one thing, it needs more Goombahs walking in the door. And I know just what to do it.Waste management is my current business. Me and my family live off Exit 14 on the Turnpike, but my business takes me all over Jersey. The business has been giving me too many problems lately. My partner had to “go away” for awhile. I’m being asked for favors all over the freaking pla
  2. Members of various poker forums recently participated in a poll regarding their height, age and weight. I collected the data, and completed an article which was published in the January issue of Full Tilt Magazine. I post it here for your interest. Thanks very much to those who contributed. “Jeez, You’re Big…You A Poker Player?” It “hit me” when I played at the 2005 World Series of Poker. Walking to the tables I found myself behind T.J. Cloutier. “Jeez, this guy is big!”…I thought. A well fitted Tommy Bahama shirt covered his broad shoulders. He reminded me
  3. Lol.Since then, I've noticed everytime a T2 comes up in a hand.
  4. My heartbreaker was getting eliminated at 45 when the payout of $10,000 was to 42 places in a $1K WSOP event this year. And it was on a bad beat! I felt like going up to the 30th floor of the RIO, and jumping out a closed window, onto a pile cactus! Want the story??? Can I tell it here?!!. The table is playing tight as we are down to the bubble. I'm short stack, having about about 2 1/2 times the blind in chips. I'm in early position and go all-in w/ KJ suited hoping to take the blinds. As I expected the table folds around to the blind, who is healthy with chips. He say, "If I don't
  5. FLORIDA POKER ROOMS...WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME TO WALK IN THE DOOR?Poker Rooms in the Greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Palm Beaches are located in a myriad of venues, such as dog and horse tracks, Jai-Alai Frontons, day boats, and even two different tribal Indian Casinos. They all want their piece of the action, and some offer very inviting incentives and bonuses to get you in their door.If you are not familiar with Poker play in Florida, the maximum single bet in ring games allowed by State law is $2. That’s an improvement from the previous regulation of a maximum $10 pot limit. However, in recen
  6. Cheating at Online Poker! This is being sold as “No Rules Poker” on the internet. It has a beautifully written ad which stopped me in my tracks when I read it. It told how I could see my opponents cards, just as I see my cards on the screen. What a deal that is. I will be able to know what my opponents hole cards are! I read the ad again (it was quite long). I’ve been around too long to believe what the ad said, and moved on.A few days later I came across a forum post of a customer of the above ad. He was so angry he posted the whole damn package for anyone’s viewing. And boy, did I laugh
  7. I'm sorry to talk negative of any pro but here's an experience I had at the WSOP.I played in seven WSOP events this year, including the Main Event. Guess who was the only pro to give me a problem.....yep, Hellmuth. I was short stack, early position and made my move with an A6 suited all-in. Before the next guy could act, Hellmuth says, "Dealer, you going to let him get away with that?" The dealer didn't see anything and looked quizical. Hellmuth says, "He made a string bet!". The dealer didn't see it because I didn't make one. Hellmuth calls the floorperson over, stops the game, and pro
  8. Yes, I've got a lot of time on my hands. I am retired, and my main past-times are playing poker, doing things having to do with poker, and close-up magic (mainly performing tricks with coins, cards, and poker chips). The above piece is coming out in an upcoming issue of FULL TILT MAGAZINE. PLAYBOY MAGAZINE (July '05, p. 16) cites the article as a reference regarding weights of poker chips. I have posted this piece on many forums. It's funny to see the feedback I have received. Those who were about to buy chips found it really helpful. Those who were/are interested in doing fancy tricks
  9. For those interested in poker chips. LAS VEGAS POKER CHIPS? The other day, my friend Jack was about to make an online purchase of a decent set of poker chips, and asked me if I had any particular brand, make, or vendor to suggest. He stressed that the guys in his weekly home poker game were goading him to upgrade from his current cache of cheap plastic chips to something more professional. Jack said he completed a comprehensive search and review of the poker chip market on the internet and decided to equip his table with nothing less than what is used at professional casinos
  10. I spent 5 hours at a table with James Woods during the $1,000 rebuy event. He seemed like a sharp player, sociable, and very intelligent.Citytomwww.pokerchipsvideo.com
  11. What did I expect? Well, uh....hmmm...12 hours.Everything you said is correct.I'm 58, and have been playing poker since learning it as a kid behind the Caddyshack. I play at a B&M 2-3 X's a week, and everyday on-line.I find that after 3-4 hours, I gotta go do something else. I'm not excited about going back to the WSOP at this moment.
  12. Bluff sure did a nice presentation at the convention. I registered with Bluff for their "Bubble insurance" and wore their shirt.Congrats on making it to day 3. The rest of us were on the sidelines wishing we were there.Citytomwww.pokerchipsvideo.com
  13. I paid my way into the Main Event. I also played in six other events. It was a long stretch.Yes, I played with many pros, not just the ones whose faces are recognizable. But the more famous ones were Devilfish, Hellmuth, Mel Judah, Juha, Steve Z, Dutch Boyd, and Tomko. I ended up getting into an argument with Hellmuth. He claimed I made a string bet, and called the floor person over. He was the only one who saw it (because there wasn't any) and after making a stink said, "Well, I don't know, I'm over here listening to my IPOD. I'm not even in the hand". I'm not a big fan of his.I lost
  14. I was very surprised to find out that we had to play 15 1/2 hours on the first day. I made it through but now I see why so many players get massages during their play. My neck was aching from sitting there and holding my arms in a particular position. You may know that there were three first days and that the plan was to get each day down from 200 tables, to 65. It took the guys from day 1 15 1/2 hours to get there. I played on the second first day, and although we got down to 65 tables after 14 hours, we had to continue playing the same amount of time. We finally got to 62 tables. Day three ha
