If Tavares signs, Nylander will stay, and we'll roll out one of best forward groups in the league and figure it out/find value on Defense. This notion that we need to trade Nylander for a D man is absurd. Agree totally. Also we have some really good dman in system developing. Yes, usually getting a bargain is a good idea when buying something. lol I assume you meant waiting on the bargains that come from deals later on with players who dont get the offers in the first few days. It would seem to be pretty clear that a good idea is to stay away from UFA's, beyond suddenly acquiring a top level guy you would have paid that much for anyway, ie JT. Arp I have this same feeling as you do..I know you arent as a Leafs fan as I am, but I know deep down you are and would love a Cup in town.. Are we getting duped by the media? Is the whole thing like an Eklund conspiracy to get more views and clicks.. I am cringing everytime I check my phone's notifications, just waiting to see "Tavares extends in New York, 8 years $94 million"..I am scared to look.. A month ago, I thought we had no shot at him..But now could it be? Are the Sharks reports true? Could he actually sign in San Jose.. I guess the Sharks for me would be the next best location as I will interview him and first chance ask him"JT why not Toronto?"
