Too Much Time In The Forums

Recommended Posts

Ok, so there's zero content in this thread. It's just me making a big deal out of positing 5000 times in this forum. I hope Zach will be nice and let it die on its own.Actually, I'll provide content from my earlier playing days:Royal Flushies:http://www.pokerhand.org/?2013877http://www.pokerhand.org/?2013878Biggest pots I've ever won online:http://www.pokerhand.org/?2013883http://www.pokerhand.org/?2013893So, those are hands that I played before I knew how to play poker. They're each over 2.5 to 3 years ago. That's also probably one of the only times you'll ever see a Royal Flush on the board, and I'm donking around calling preflop raises in LHE with T7o. God I sucked! It's pretty amazing to think that I was beating a 10/20 NL game on PartyPoker 2+ years ago when I really had no idea how to play this damned game.I used to read poker books pretty frequently because I wanted to be better at this game. Some people say that they've never read a book, yet they succeed. I hated the thought of risking my money at a game where other people knew more than I did. After 6 years of playing, I'm proud to say that I still have a ton to learn. I've read those books and taken what I can from them. In the last year and a half since I moved to Vegas, I've probably become 10x the player I was when I first arrived and that is due to 3 things.1. Playing the game2. Thinking about the game3. Posting hereIt's because of this forum that I've had a reason to think about the game and critique hands and see other players reasoning behind things. Whether or not I agree with the opinion doesn't matter, because you can still see how other people approach the same situation. There is almost always something that can be taken from a thread, so just sit back and look for it. So, I will just say thank you to the forum for putting their hands and their opinions out there to be torn apart by everyone as they see fit. This is the friendliest forum on the intarweb and I'm glad to be a part of it.Thanks,Acid_Knight

In a low content thread, I'll add a low content reply. I have a screenshot of a Royal on the board from PStars. It was pretty cool, but the idiots in the hand kept raising each other. It was pretty funny to watch.

I for one, would like to thank Acid for his candid posts..I really enjoy learning more about the game, and although I pretty much stick to the Tourney forum and lurk in here, AK's posts are almost always thought provoking and helpful

The reason i love Acid Knight can be seen in NoBBiR's sig.And he's good at poker too.
Yeah, I agree. Also I really appreciate the strat you give Acid. When I first started to post here, I really didn't understand EV or understand that making the correct decision was what counts, rather than the results themselves. But it didn't take long for you to help curve that. So thanks for helping me not be such a fish :)I feel like I'm giving a eulogy or a wedding toast.
This is actually an urban legend.
STOP PLAYING OMAHA.

Acid, Do like your advice on poker - I am trying to learn and having mixed results. Can I ask you - do you actually win?kenny
No.This whole forum is just a brilliant ruse to get you all to play like donks.

God it'd be embarassing if I didn't actually win at poker.Yeah, I played mostly live poker (mainly 5/10 and 10/20 NL live) and showed pretty consistent winnings there. Since starting to play online a lot more a few months ago, I have seen very mixed results. If you read my blog, you'll know why I'm not gonna talk about that right now. Also, back in the day on PartyPoker, I made a decent chunk of money, especially winning donkaments.

It's taking me a while to get over the fact you once played limited hold them.Congrats on the 5k posts, your constant honesty about how i misplay hands/misplay advice has helped me improve as a player a lot even though i may disagree sometimes, thank you. I wish you all the best in returning to winning ways and not complaining about bad luck in the future. And keep updating your blog, i've read every single entry so far and it's a really interesting read.

Yeah, for the record, I never considered myself a LHE player. What would happen is that I would bounce back and forth between LHE and NLHE.At LHE, I'd play until I got frustrated that I kept getting drawn out on and couldn't protect my hand and then I'd go back to NLHE and play until I got coolered enough times and wanted to lose less $$ when I had set over set or when I got sucked out on. Basically I went back and forth without realizing that I just wans't good enough at poker to understand that them sucking out on me was awesome becuase it meant their money went in bad.I played as high as 25/50 online (when PartyPoker 1st introduced it) and as high as 100/200 LHE (also on PartyPoker) when I had the equvilant of like 3 buyins for each game. Don't ever do that. How I managed NOT to go broke is a miracle.
