UKWill 0 Posted May 1, 2010 Share Posted May 1, 2010 A warning note for anyone thinking of joining CakeI registered tonight and deposited a sizeable sum to take advantage of their first deposit bonus.So far so good.I then register for 2 sit and go games 15 seconds later I'm booted from the system. I'm now a bit anxious wondering how the 2 games are getting on without me and fretting about the wasted registration fee. I try to log in again but get an error code. I reboot and try again - same error. Then I find their support page and send a mail. when I check my inbox there are 2 mails requestingthat I send a copy of my credit card to them as a jpeg attached to an email! This is the 21st century for God's sake! After a further exchange I'm assureed that I will get my deposit back .... and if I haven't hear from them in 15 days contact their security dept. 15 DAYS?!?!?!?I suspect i have paid a high price for 30 minutes of frustration at the hands of either a bunch of amateurs or a bunch of crooks. FCP Bob 1,312 Posted May 1, 2010 Share Posted May 1, 2010 I personally trust Cake with a mid 4 figure balance in my account there and nothing that I`ve seen from them gives me concern for my money.It sounds like there is an issue with the credit card that you used to make a deposit. There is a massive amount of credit card fraud that the online sites are victims of and they have to take measures against this since they are the ones who pay for it in the end and sometimes those measures mean that an honest player will be hassled.The 15 days is because it sounds like they are going to reverse the charges on your credit card. It takes time for the transaction and reversal to work through the system of the credit card processor to Visa to your bank to showing up on your online statement.I hope this helps.
