Question About The Fallsview

Recommended Posts

I have been playing online for about a year now, and have never made the move to try live play. I was wondering a few things, a few guys at work say there are long waits to get to the poker tables. Is this true? And is it really worth going to a live game compared to playing online..Thanks for any input..

Sometimes. It depends on the casino and what they have going on during a particular time.
And is it really worth going to a live game compared to playing online..
I think so.

Yes, sometimes there are long waits to get on tables. My experience is that the longer the wait the higher the profit margin cuz when there's lots of loose money on the tables, everyone stays as long as possible to get thier share.I have been much more profitable live than on line so I would answer yes to your second question. I just have a very hard time staying focused and interested when staring at a computer screen for hours vs. having the live interaction of b and m games.good luck to you either way.

From the sounds of it, dont waste your time going to fallsview....they only spread higher limit games. I think 2/5NL and 6/12 Limit are the smallest games they offer. Head over to the Seneca Niagara Casino on the US side of the falls...theyve got the widest variety of games and most action out of any of the 3 rooms in the falls area.

If you can beat online games you can beat live games for a much higher BB/100. Unfortunately you'll see less hands an hour, so that could change your equity. All in all though, live poker is definitely worth it, you get the social interaction and the feel of cards and chips and the games are WAY more donkified than online.

Are you serious? For No Limit Hold Em, I don't think you can compare Fallsview and Seneca. We have regular players at Fallsview that have come back from Las Vegas to play in our 5-5 NL games because they are so soft. Friday night we were running 1-2 NL, 2-5 NL, 5-5NL, 5-10NL and 25-50NL...with waiting lists in the twenties! There is so much dead money in that room it is unbelievable!! Expect Saturday to offer the same plus 2-5L, 5-10L and 10-20L.

Fallsview doesn't always have the 1/2 NL and 2/5 L going but Casino Niagara ALWAYS does. It's right there too, no need to cross the border. The 1/2 NL is the softest game I've been in at those stakes. It was a pretty soft game at Bally's in Vegas but even softer at Niagara.

Fallsview a billion times softer than Seneca. But I hate going over the border, converting my money, and getting screwed out of 8% on the conversion. The games are crazy at fallsview, paying time kind of sucks for the 5-5, but seriously, the difference between action is insane, its like 10 miles away but in Fallsview money is falling from the sky.Oh and if you live near a casino, you'll be hooked to live play quick. Games are way easier, the smallest you can get is 1-2nl as compared to online you have one cent two cent. Plus people are at casinos to gamble, its just wayyyyy looser and more laid back than online. Good luck and have fun.

The games are prob softer live, but more profitable? I don't know about that the rake is higher than online, most people tip the dealers and all the other expenses traveling to a casino brings...food, gas, OTHER GAMES. But all in all live games are more fun even if giving up a little profit.

I played $2/$5 NL at Fallsview a few days ago. I had JJ. I went all in on the turn with a board of 4 J 6 2. I got called by 99. LOL. It's worth playing live. You'll get paid whenever you make a hand.

The wait for a game of 5 5 nl is horrendous during friday and sat night. I've waited at least 2 hours before and still didn't get a seat. I suggest you get there early to mid afternoon on a weekend to get a seat and don't give it up if you want to play at night. You get a one hour meal break. 5 10 nl and 10 25 nl are a bit easier to get on (I only played 5 10 nl once-good thing I won(amazingly donkeys galore) and the wait wasn't too bad). For those familiar with the levels that I play, yes, I do play bigger live than online. It's easier to get a seat at the old niagara casino but it's 1 2 nl, 100 max buy in, session fee of 5 dollars per half hour. It's a ripoff, but there are lots of fish that justify that fee.

Yah, sometimes you've just got to mix it up and play live. I hate sitting beside a person that smells really bad though. I always ask for a table change right away.
