stealfromblind 0
been playing mostly nl for about 4 years but i've decided to give shorthanded limit a shot. i was wondering when would be a good point to move up in limits. i'm aware of the 300 BB rule but the bankroll isn't really a problem, i need to know what my bb/100 should be and how long i need to maintain it(i.e. 2-3k hands?) before i move up. thanks, steal. sdnuol 0
i think 3-5bb/100 is good??? not a limit expert. also i would say more like 10k handsedit: do yu have a link to where doyle said the quote in your sig?
erac22 0
3-5 BB/100 is absolutely killding it. Anything north of 2 BB/100 over 10k hands and I think you're ready to give the next level a shot.

tallytownFSU 0
when i was playing limit, i never played shortrolled. Always 500-700BB before I moved up...Also, my average over the past 2 years online has been 2.134BB/hr. And thats for 230,000 hands.

Obviously the more the better. If you're at over 3 BB/100 that's freakin' awesome.I'd say that if you're in the mid 2s per 100 hands you're beating the game pretty well. Depends on the limit. The bigger you play the lower that number gets. For example, if you're in a 80/160 game then 2BB/100 is fantastic. If you're playing 4000/8000 then I'd say most of those guys would be happy averaging 1.5BB/100.

TheCinciKid 0
Generally I'd want 500 BB and at least 10k hands at the previous level to have some idea of where you might stand. However, 20k would probably be much better.
Flack_attack 0
For shorthanded you definitely want at least 500 BB. If you a loose player, maybe more.
Actuary 3
my rule of thumb:win your way to the next level. don't count bonus's, rakeback, etc.come back down when you lose 1/2repeat.essentially your true winrate will not be known until far past the time it actually takes you to move up. So just be ready to move down.Say you have $1000, playing $1/2 SHSay you want 500BB for SH. 2/4 That's $2000If you win 1 BB/100, it will take you 50,000 handsOnce you have $2000, play $2/4.If you drop to $1000, go back to $1/2any problems with that ?
