Different Days Of The Week Giving U Different Results?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I play to make money, not for the challenge. I'd rather play against bad players. After a large enough sample size both in the casino cashgames, and more recently, online heads up turbo tournaments, I have seen the results of an idea I always thought was true. But I'm still wondering if anyone else has similar results or thoughts.Ive always felt that weekends would produce the largest sum of fish to play against. More casual players who are off work, more partying while playing, etc. So naturally, I began to think that early in the week would produce worse results for me. I don't just consider Fri-Sat to be the prime days, as Sunday and Thursday still have weekend like feels to them. This leaves me with Mon-Wed to be worried about there being a stronger player pool. My results are a bit surprising, though. My win ratio is practically the same on Thurs-Sunday, and it only takes a minor, but noticeable, dip on Mondays and Wednesdays. However, Tuesday I am having a large drop off in profit, so large, that I'm almost thinking its not worth to even play those days. Is it because Monday is still a bit hangover of the weekend play, while Wednesday is exactly midweek creating some regular folks looking for that break from the grind of the workweek? Plus does the Tuesday airings of the wsop create more serious players out there? All I do online is play heads up turbo's. But I really don't wanna take Tuesday completely off if I don't have to. I'm thinking of switching to a couple of juicy multi's on Tues, but if the previous is all true, am I wasting my time playing multi's on Tues only?Does anyone have similar results with the different days of the week? Or is just some thing with my personal schedule and ticker that is causing this Tuesday downturn? Also, if u do have daily results you can share with us, are your results for cashgames, sng's, heads up, or multi's? I really hope I can just switch to playing Multi's on Tuesdays, but am really worried I may be wasting my time, and playing only 3 multi's or so on Tues, it's gonna take superlong for me to catch a trend to see if the results are down like the heads up and the casino cashgames.

Despite worse players playing on Sundays, I always run awfully (last 3 or 4 Sundays). Saturday is usually a good day - as is Tuesday. It's probably just psychological reasons/recent short term variance making me feel this way. There are some days of the week I don't play at all.

Your sample size would have to be huge in order for these stats to mean anything at all. But I do agree that weekends are much softer than through the week.

Sharkscope lets you graph your results by day of the week, time of day, etc etc. I used to have a subscription so I could give you a more detailed breakdown by game-type, but without a subscription you get just one advanced search per day, or something. Anyways this is a graph of all the sngs I've ever played on Stars. I think the basic answer I get from this graph is that there is clearly not enough data to come to a conclusion. At first it might look like the weekend is the best time to play, but then you see that Tuesday is just as good as Saturday. I think it's totally random regarding when is best to play, although Sundays certainly are considered the juiciest days because of all the big tourneys, and my graph agrees with that somewhat (although note the ROI).daysofweek.jpg
