It's not just the trilogy box office gross, it's the whole brand they bought, merchandising and the like. They have two one-off movies in the works too, one about Han Solo and one about the tie fighter squadron that took out the death star. Disney is going to get their money's worth. She will go dark side with her uber-force badassery, and Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) will revert back to the light and will be the hero in episode 9. The more I think about this, the more I like it. I am rooting for Disney's failure in adjusting to the new streaming paradigm, and hope it catastrophically fails, so they are forced to sell star wars and they start putting out R rated star wars.
