I can't imagine Ivey playing at those levels isn't being watched closer than a junior high boys swim team at the NAMBLA pool.

But I will give credence to the theory that the casino will angle-shoot as well with refusal to pay or litigation.
Just another reason why I don't play poker or gamble for a living.
Absolutely agree. The argument can be made that perhaps in a moral sense what Ivey did was wrong, but how can it be illegal? If he played no part in the cards being flawed, it is on the casino 100% imo. The dealers are supposed to check the cards when they're brought into the game. Plus, at a game of those stakes, the pit boss should also be looking over the dealer's shoulder and security should be monitoring it all.
I will go a step further and say that any casino that was using that series of cards after Phil's run in with the London casino is run by idiots. I guarantee that if Ivey had lost $10,000,000 the Borgata would not be offering him a refund. I know it's a hard loss to stomach, but they should eat it and go after Gemaco to recoup the money.

I'm going to stake a stab and guess that the casinos have a significant lobbying presence in NJ.
Ivey is a hustler, the casinos are hustlers, it's all in the game.

That's it in a nutshell.
Doesn't EA sports use a version of that in their commercials?

I hate every fiber of his being. He's awful and everything he writes is wrong, coupled with being annoying. Its uncanny how awful he is. If he was around when this thread was thriving, he would have killed it. Thankfully, he wasnt.
Maybe in the real world, he's not so awful (evidence says otherwise) but here, he makes me want to fight. Nobody makes me want to fight. Its beyond weird. I almost feel bad, but I dont

Did they let you keep the winnings? As I understood it casinos let you keep your winnings even if you're accused of card counting at BJ, since it can't be proven and it's not really cheating unless you are also colluding with other players at the table. They can of course kick you out and say you're never welcome back, but I didn't think they could keep your winnings unless they can prove something more than just having a brilliant memory. But maybe I'm wrong.

Yes.
The boss came over with what I'm guessing was 8-10 security guards and told me to pack my shit. I asked why, he said my betting patterns indicated 'illegal counting behaviors', that they were not permabanning me but asking me to leave now and suggesting I not play blackjack anymore. Escorted me to cash out, then escorted me to the door, then 4 guards waited with me at the entrance while the valet got my car.

Or maybe he found someone obscure Ivey was already following and then made his FCP account with the same gay Korean avatar and name.

First of all: I'm not Korean. And Narum is my last name.
I'm honoured, though. That you think I'd go through all that trouble. <3
