Line Check On $3.40 18 Man Donkament

Just wondering how good/bad was this line. CO was pretty aggressive and could show up with anything. I feel like this play was kinda dangerous at the river, but let's see what you guys think:feral_cow_icon.gifCows play poker with cow chipsPokerStars No-Limit Hold'em ($3.00+$0.40) t100/t200 ante t25 - 5 playersSB: t2,650 BB: t2,895 (Hero)UTG: t2,205 CO: t3,430 Button: t2,320 Preflop: (t425) Hero is BB with :3h:jh (5 players)UTG folds, CO calls t200, Button calls t200, SB folds, Hero checksFlop: (t825) :club::ts:4h (3 players)Hero checks, CO checks, Button checksTurn: (t825) :5c (3 players)Hero bets t570, CO calls t570, Button foldsRiver: (t1,965) :qh (2 players)Hero checks, CO bets t1200, Hero raises to t2100 and is all-in

I used to play those $3.40 18p's a lot. Call on the river if you really think you have a good read, but keep the rest of your chips. You've still got enough for a comeback (900).The re-raise on the river doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.

turn bet is a total spew... fold river
Glad I posted this hand. Why is turn a total spew. I have checked myself into an open end str8. No high cards, and I bet ~18 % of my stack to a open end. Yes, even if I hit it may not be good especially 6h, but my plan was if it did hit and we were still 3 handed into the river then I could be in trouble. When river was still low but gave me small showdown value, yes, I can see where it was spewey, but the way villain was playing I just rolled the dice. A2,5, 67 could have been in his range, but at UTG I was puting him on higher cards. Grant it you can't always put UTG on high cards everytime, but at a $3.40 18 man?? Any paint or heart shows up here and I fold. I can understand why river is 1-2 types of bad, but help me understand why turn was so bad??? Only charge the draws OP instead of OOP when you have some kind of showdown at this point???

You aren't going to win a STT with a draw, however you very well can lose your money that way. Save your chips for shove/fold. That's when they will be decided. If you are going to bet a draw, at least do it with position where you can control the pot size. What would you do if he shoved there?edit, just read it's an 18 man but my logic still applies.

Betting a straight draw (a weak one at that) on the turn, on a paired board, with a flush draw out there while out of posistion just seems pretty bad.On the river, there's absolutely no point in shoving. Unless you're bluffing, but then you have no FE.If he somehow did end up calling with worse, that still doesn't make it a good play.

Yea, I think I am starting to get it now. If my reads are correct, I have the hand won by calling. If my read is off, then I am just stacking off like a jerk-off, because if he has a 5, is he really folding here, and what is the odds that I have like A2 here. BUT, if he was paying attention to what I was showing at showdown was always high cards, but is someone at this level really paying that much attention, and at these kind of stakes I am pretty sure you are stacking off most trips on the river anyway.Anyway, Villain tanked for a bit then folded, so my read probably was correct in that he had some kind paint combo, but that is why I posted because I am trying to get away from playing results-oriented types of lines, especially spewy river calls. I still have a problem with that in thinking that if I just spew it out, it will get others to fold, but I am needing to figure out the correct times/hands/players to do this correctly. Hopefully soon I can move from the horrible player to just bad player. For the amount of time I spend playing I feel like I am slowly coming along though.

Thanks for the info!!!! PushBot is something that I was looking for!!!!! PokerStove is a little complicated, but PushBot is so easy, even a dumbass like me can understand it. I have a chart similar that I printed from Poker VT that has PF +/- ev ranges from different opening positions, which helped me alot, but this should help even more. Once again, you are the man!!
