Please god, if I get nothing else this year, let the announcement come down soon that the Leafs sign Vanek, and Minn was the other team.   Please, one time!!!!!!

Colorado (PATRICK ROY) does not like Parenteau, thinks he's awful in his own zone. Been trying to get rid of him for some time.

Ya, I know that much, thanks Pierre McGuire.   Obv!

IF Reimer gets his wish and the Leafs can work out a trade, what team is a good fit?

I dont see too many opportunities where Reimer can go in and become the number 1..

The Jets

The Jets are still in denial about Pavelec being below average. That would be a good landing spot, but it will be interesting to see if they can swallow their pride to improve their team. They have a number of good pieces, but goaltending is their Achilles heel right now.

Every year at this time, defensive defencemen get bought out, and then on July 1st, teams shell out huge $ for other defensive defencemen.

The problem is they are paying him just under $4 million for another 3 years..If they sign Reimer, does he play back up to Reimer? Reimer will probably need around $3 mill per

Who cares? You don't correct a mistake by making more mistakes.

Buy him out, sit him, whatever.

Not sure if the Jets are a cap team..Maybe they are but dont think they can make money at $69 million salary cap..

Then give the team back to Atlanta.

lol..doesnt work that way..

The higher cap is going to hurt a lot of teams..But as a fan of deep pocket team, I dont care...

$51 million floor is a high number too

It looks so bad, but I guess if you assume all you have left in that asset is 1 year of Spezza who doesn't want to play for you, its a decent return.

Guptill is one of those guys I had never heard of until he got drafted in the AHL. Eagles? Daniel? one of those guys took him, and I thought....who the hell is this guy?

Also worth noting Spezza actual salary is only $4 million.

Incredible how many of the better players are moving to the West. Wonder if that will continue today.

I like it. Keep them over there.

Terrible save percentage. http://www.hockey-re...der_by=save_pct

I dont know if its "terrible", but ok, I figured it was SV% you were basing it on.

Are there any advanced stats for goalies? I can't recall seeing any in terms of quality of shots, other factors.

I actually think Pavelec is better than his current reputation, and his play is a by product of that team, to a degree. He hasn't been as good as he should be, but I don't think getting a Reimer will solve that teams issues in terms of giving up goals.

There aren't really advanced stats, but save percentage is the most widely accepted metric. It's obviously more telling than something like GAA.
