  1. All right first off it was a free live tourny so keep that in mind. I was peaking at the right time as we went to the final table and I was railing people left and right. We got to heads up and I have the other guy out chipped by about 3 or 4 to 1 so I'm feeling pretty good. A few hands aside we about evened up as I was not getting anything now, I still had him by a bit though. I had about 18k, he had about 10k in chips, blinds just went to 2/4k so I had to start moving, I caught K10 off in the BB, and min raised after he called the blind, then he moved in and I called(best cards I had seen
  2. With this river card the only hand I'm worried about is 10x which wouldn't add up because there was no straight draw on the flop. I would have to put a check call, check call on that flush chasing maybe a pair with that club draw.Put out a bet on the river of $100-150 and see where he comes back at you, you wouldn't be pot commited just because you have no really good read on this player and you'd still have a decent amount to play with even if you lay it down to his all in.In this case I agree it's not natural to not bet the river with AA mainly because you just sat down. Don't think of whe
  3. Raising with 66 utg is a horrible play. When you get called and the board comes will all overs, what do you do? raising a small pair utg is -EV.This was meant in the context of this situation. Just looking at what could have been done during this hand.
  4. I say you should have raised preflop like 300 then you might have pushed the rock to your right off his Q 8 off, especcially if he is a rock this might have taken a smaller pot but you wouldn't have got kicked in the balls either. At any rate you at least a smart enough to admit you played this wrong and no doubt will not make the same mistake twice.I also think that if blinds are raising that fast turn your aggression up a notch just so you can take down a few more smallish pots to float you a couple more blinds. This will also setup the others at your table to thinking your stealing and th
  5. Ok I'd say that both of you have good points. But I would have to side with making a raise of roughly the pot size, for a couple reasons: 1) You might just take down the pot right there, because you have table image which may just scare everyone off. This is good cause lord knows we don't need another "My Aces got cracked..." bad beat sob story cause he slow played his monster.2) You can now focus on how that 1 caller has played and have a better chance to take down the pot even if you have a flop like this one where a limper might have hit a set of 9's.3) You still could get a good value w
  6. I'd Probably lay back a bit and play a little, you might catch some more good hands and maybe get some more dough.
  7. I've been playing hold em for a while now both live and on the internet, lately I've noticed a large # of people mainly online that have blown up at other players when they have large starting hands that either get outplayed or they just plain overplay AK or AQ etc.Playing a NL tourney online I had 78 off, but it was early in the event and I had late/middle position so I limped,BB raise 2x the blindFlop was 7 8 Q rainbowBB opens for 15 3x the blind2 call and then I calledturn comes a 4 Again BB goes 2/3rds the pot size1 call 1 fold and I raise double his bet.BB callsriver is a 2 leaving no st
  8. I'd say with this flop a re-raise is a good play. It could be a move by the chip leader (villian 3)to portray a set. You may get a better read on hand strength here as well. And you'd still have a good amount of outs to make the best hand, any A, or 4 with a 5 on 5th st. Double his bet and see what he comes back with.
  9. I say call. Theres about 1k in the pot, and the button has at this point way over bet I think if he had AA or KK then he wouldn't want to push too hard preflop, I'd put him on a medium or small pocket pair or suited cards. I think it's a bluff and would call and bet the flop about 800 or so to see what he does and as some one has already stated depending on the flop you coul lay it down and still have plenty of time to build it back up.
  10. I would say fold, just for the simple fact that you have none of the flop and there are way too many different hands that can beat you here, a set, a flush, 2 pair with a draw or any others that you could possibly think. Maybe I call if there was only 2 clubs but not with that board.
  11. I think with this powerful of a hand even the check raise post flop is where your main issue is. After the flop comes down with all those high cards I think a lead out bet for $15 would have been in order for 2 reasons. 1. It gives you in early position control of the action instead of giving them the advatange of their position.2. It allows you a chance to get away from the hand with less money lost.I think with aces you should control the action. And while most people will play aces to a showdown I think that you ultimately made the right decision to lay them down, I think you could have
