WestcoastCanuck 0
http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=132519&hubName=nhlFour year deal worth 6.5 a season. I wonder where Thibualt goes now. Pittsburgh? Tampa? This really sucks. The Bulin wall was a key part to the Lightnings (semi) run and gun style of offence, a style the NHL really needs.
ajs510 122
???Kind of a senseless move, Khabibulin is only a minor upgrade to Thibeault, and costs at least 3 million more per season. They could have spent that money much more wisely, IMO.
ajs510 122
On a side note, I'd be very surprised if Mika Noronen isn't a Tampa Bay Lightning by early next week.
WestcoastCanuck 0
On a side note, I'd be very surprised if Mika Noronen isn't a Tampa Bay Lightning by early next week. They have Graham, if I am not mistaken. Noronen may fit, but they may want to go for an experienced veteran goalie (cujo, thibault etc). Who knows in this offseason. It has definatly been an exciting one, even though it is winding down. ajs510 122
All I know is Toronto is sucking ass right now.Toronto already has 29 million of the 38 million dollar cap spent on 10 players, and they still have all these free agents still unsigned:Restricted Free Agents: Nik Antropov, Wade Belak, Aki Berg, Pierre Hedin, Nathan Perrott, Karel Pilar, Clarke Wilm.Unrestricted Free Agents: Alexander Mogilny, Drake Berehowsky, Ron Francis, Bryan Marchment, Trevor Kidd, Nathan Barrett, Harold Druken, Regan Kelly. They're the literal definition of "Cap Strapped". There's just no money to spend bringing people in if you can't afford the ones you've got/want to keep.
