I think the flop cap is ok.I don't know. I never put anyone on a made flush on the flop, so I have no problem with it. Since we are HU, turn is standard.River sucks, but I don't really see what else we could do. I don't think our hand is in the clarkmeister range, but I would probably consider c/c'ing instead here, so in other words, I like the way you played it pretty much.- Zach

I don't think or hand is in the clarkmeister range- Zach
This is what I thought of instantly when I read this hand, and I had to go over to 2 + 2 to remember the details of clarmeister theorem. You would only bet this river if your hand was not good enough to check/call with. In this case, your hand is plenty good to check/call with. So you don't need to bluff/represent a spade. Check and hopefully he will bluff, then you pick him off.

FlopOn a 3-flush flop, opponents will often play aggressively without the Flush to protect whatever decent hand that they have. So, despite the heavy flop action, we are usually not against a Flush here.

I wouldn't have capped the flop.
This pot has gotten pretty large. We only have 1 pair on a dangerous flop.So finding any way of winning this pot is our priority.Capping the flop shows UTG that we are serious. And getting an opponent to fold here increases our winning chances.Capping the flop also gets us value and information without much risk.We really do have to lead this turn anyways. So if we get raised again after the flop cap and turn lead, we can be pretty sure we are behind.TurnVillain only calls the turn. This tells me that either:- we are ahead- we are behind, but our flop cap calmed him down, thus saving us some bets.RiverI only bet this river if I am willing to fold to a raise.Because I am not willing to fold, I check as you did.
I don't think our hand is in the clarkmeister range

you can search for it easily on 2+2, but to summarize....When you are out of position, and you have led out the turn and gotten called, and the river brings a 4 flush which you don't have. The theorem says lead out again, with the intention of folding to a raise. The circumstances for this must be right. Your hand must be decent so that it is almost like a value bet, perhaps top pair, decent kicker. But if you get raised, there is almost 0 chance you are being bluffed given the type of board and u can easily throw your hand away. If you get called, there is some chance you will still win the pot. But the good news is you will force better hands to fold a significant percentage of the time.

The purpose of the clarkmeister theorem is not to fold better hands. It's a value bet. You're planning on check calling anyway, you know you're behind if you get raised, but you're often going to get called by a hand you beat. For example in this hand, AK with no spade. You're very rarely going to get any reasonable spade to lay down on the river.Personally, I like a bet/fold line on the river. I think after the villian doesn't pop you on the turn, it's likely you're ahead, and you're probably getting called on the river by a K. And most people aren't making naked moves on you on the river.

I think it's ok, albeit a little aggressive, all the way through. When you get to the river, if it's a choice between betting and check-calling, I'm definitely check calling there. The odds that he has a hand that we are still beating is slim. There is a KJT combo on the board and 4 spades. We have one pair and no spade. If you think the guy is a fish, then checking the river is the right choice, since I'd guess that more often than not, you're not going to win this hand and minimizing any further investment should be a top priority. If you really think he's that bad, then check call his bet and cross your fingers.Other than that, I think the hand is played ok. Capping the flop seemed to be good because it dropped that other guy out, and you're definitely not winning a showdown against 2 opponents with AA on that board, so the cap was good for that reason alone.
