Funny story tonight, while I was signing up for 5-5 NL since it was the only game even remotely near my roll, I saw one floor man whisper to another guy, and all you hear is the announcement:"50-100 NL random name, 50-100 NL Daniel Negreanu"I swore I saw EVERYONE at the room turn their heads and look. Then you just see like 4 floor guys laughing their asses off. Then like 10 mins later when I get my seat I hear like 2-3 people asking the same guy:"What table is Daniel at?""Where is he? Is he signing autographs?"Yes, I looked back too.

I hear 10/25 nl is decent...too many questions, I know, but its my first day here so I have no clue.One thing that sucks is that I couldn't bring too much cash and they dont have those wire transfer machine's like they do in the US, which sucks because I can only get a certain amount daily from the ATM...if anyone here in niagara wants to trade me some cash for online money, let me know . Another thing that kinda sucks is how they're running the sattelites for the $2500 event at casino Niagara, I called last night and they told me registration started at 9am for $330 STT, and they ran till midnight. I went today at 9:30 am and they had sattelites full until 6pm, when I asked if I could go ahead and register for the 8pm or 10 pm they didnt let me and said if you're registered in one sat you can't register in another one. Basically I have 1 shot at winning my seat, and a small shot at being able to buy it off someone, but with my ATM problem I might not have enough money in time. BLAH..I really want to play that $2500 tomorrow..

No bus, cousin wanted to go play craps so I decided to play some 1/2.When I got there, the waiting list was like 423545758 with 1 table for 1/2, and about 10 for 5/5. So instead of being sensible and switching casinos, I went for 5/5. You know it's bad when the actual dealer has to ID you...

Casino Niagaras poker room is run by retards, just FYI for anyone who ever goes.First off, their selection of no limit is : 2/4 nl, 2-5nl, 5-5 nl if someone could explain what the point is to this I'd appreciate it. They had sattelites running today for the CPO $2500. Last night they told me to register at 9am because it was the last day and they were only running from 12pm to 12 am. I get there 9:30, and they have a list full until 6pm, so I sign up for the 6pm sat. I get there at 5:30 pm and give the dude my name, and he says "yeah sattelites ran late so the 6pm sat starts at 8pm" Rather than going to my hotel, I kill time till 8pm, go back and the dude says "sorry you're in the last sattelite, the one we had planned for 6pm starts at 10:30"...basically, I've been waiting to play a sit n go for like 12 hours....sfg, why did they even cap in the first place? Hi, I guess you are right.Having people that don't live near the casino, fly out 7 days before the event starts just to register seems very reasonable. I guess I should have pony'd up the money early. Holding a "major" tourney with a 300 cap isn't at all stupid, I take it back.lolI love how you say there are limitations as to how many people enter an event in _ANY_ B&M, because we all know casino's aren't greedy at all and usually look forward to limiting their profits by capping events. I've played like 40 "major" live tourneys ranging from $500-$10k buy-in at live casino's and I've seen exactly 1 capped event, the shootout at the WSOP. I've seen the bellagio hold a $1k with 600 people in a room that can only fit 350-400. It's called being smart, get an alternate system, clear a confference room, etc..It's cool that you're loyal to your casino but don't defend dumb rules and make stuff up about how every casino has limitations. I've talked to a ton of people live and online (including a couple floormen at niagara casino), and I haven't heard one say that the 300 cap was a good idea..because it isn't.

Party, I sympathize, but I'm pretty sure the $2700 event made it known that it had 300 seats max. I do believe the main event (10K) is not going to be capped though.But you're right, it does suck when the event is supossed to be the premier tournament in Canada to cap it. Hopfully your trip to Niagara will still be a good money maker.
