Team Arenas Over Cheap Thieves

Winning team: Team ArenasWinning player: gilbertologyLosing team: Chiep ThievesLosing player: KidPokerTime of match: 34 minutesGreat late night matchup featuring an early hand where I could've been eliminated. I had 5c10c for a str8 flush draw and Daniel had Ac6c for the nut straight flush draw. Neither of us hit and I went all-in on the river.NO_LIMIT TEXAS_HOLDEM $10+$1 (Real Money), #566,426,443 gilbertology's Single Table Tournament, 5 Jun 2006 2:58 AM ET Seat 2: gilbertology ($1,380 in chips) Seat 6: ^KidPoker ($1,620 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS^KidPoker posts blind ($10), gilbertology posts blind ($20).PRE-FLOP^KidPoker bets $40, gilbertology calls $30.FLOP [board cards 9S,8C,7C ]gilbertology checks, ^KidPoker bets $50, gilbertology bets $175, ^KidPoker calls $125.TURN [board cards 9S,8C,7C,4H ]gilbertology bets $275, ^KidPoker calls $275.RIVER [board cards 9S,8C,7C,4H,QS ]gilbertology bets $880 and is all-in, ^KidPoker folds.SHOWDOWNgilbertology wins $1,880. That is when I went on about a ten minute rush with three pivotal hands and one nice bluff mixed in that gave me a commanding 2500 to 500 chip lead. I chipped away from there until Daniel went all in with Kx vs my A2 with 275 left and didn't hit. I'll post more detailed hand analysis later. Here is some more detailed analysis of the match. Daniel flopped about four or five straights against me and won the minimum amount every time because I was lucky enough not to flop anything good enough to call him past the flop with. Early on I was betting pretty aggressively and at one point Daniel called a 200 river bet by me with low pair on the board just 2s. He then caught me in another bluff a minute later and that got me down about 2 to 1 in chips. However, this image of me paid off later as I fought my way back. For example, this hand Daniel would almost always lay down except he probably was thinking of my bluff from earlier.NO_LIMIT TEXAS_HOLDEM $10+$1 (Real Money), #566,460,757 gilbertology's Single Table Tournament, 5 Jun 2006 3:18 AM ET Seat 2: gilbertology ($1,660 in chips) Seat 6: ^KidPoker ($1,340 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS^KidPoker posts blind ($15), gilbertology posts blind ($30).PRE-FLOP^KidPoker bets $60, gilbertology calls $45.FLOP [board cards 5C,7C,KH ]gilbertology checks, ^KidPoker checks.TURN [board cards 5C,7C,KH,AC ]gilbertology bets $100, ^KidPoker calls $100.RIVER [board cards 5C,7C,KH,AC,4S ]gilbertology bets $275, ^KidPoker calls $275.SHOWDOWNgilbertology shows [ JC,6C ]^KidPoker mucks cards [ 4C,2D ]gilbertology wins $900. He had position and bet the flop, and I just called. Instead of checking the turn I bet out because I knew it would confuse him. He raised the normal amount in position and I went all-in with 6s not wanting to play the hand postflop against the "flop master". Unfortunately, he woke up with JJ and after the hand I felt a little deflated at an opportunity wasted.NO_LIMIT TEXAS_HOLDEM $10+$1 (Real Money), #566,460,763 gilbertology's Single Table Tournament, 5 Jun 2006 3:19 AM ET Seat 2: gilbertology ($2,185 in chips) Seat 6: ^KidPoker ($815 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS^KidPoker posts blind ($15), gilbertology posts blind ($30).PRE-FLOP^KidPoker bets $60, gilbertology bets $2,155 and is all-in, ^KidPoker calls $740 and is all-in.FLOP [board cards 3H,9D,7S ]TURN [board cards 3H,9D,7S,8C ]RIVER [board cards 3H,9D,7S,8C,10D ]SHOWDOWNgilbertology shows [ 6D,6S ]^KidPoker shows [ JD,JS ]gilbertology wins $1,370, ^KidPoker wins $1,630. SUMMARYDealer: ^KidPokerPot: $1,080gilbertology, bets $765, collects $1,080, net $315^KidPoker, loses $315 Since he had been seeing me bluff less, I wanted to represent the Jack early on, and possibly the made flush on the river. I probably got Daniel to fold a pair of 6s, which he may not have done earlier in the match. I believe I had 89 this hand but I remember I had nothing at the river. The next hand I will post is something I did 4 times during the match. Daniel would always raise when he had the button to about 2.5 times the BB. When I had a decent hand four of those times I popped him back out of position with large raises of 250-350 to get him to lay down the hand. Twice he folded, but twice he called then surprisingly laid it down on the flop. The first time I had A10 and flopped an ace, so it was a good laydown. The second time he called prelop I had pocket 3s and this scary board came, but I still led out and luckily he folded maybe an underpair or AK.NO_LIMIT TEXAS_HOLDEM $10+$1 (Real Money), #566,466,815 gilbertology's Single Table Tournament, 5 Jun 2006 3:22 AM ET Seat 2: gilbertology ($1,490 in chips) Seat 6: ^KidPoker ($1,510 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS^KidPoker posts blind ($15), gilbertology posts blind ($30).PRE-FLOP^KidPoker bets $60, gilbertology bets $300, ^KidPoker calls $255.FLOP [board cards QS,4S,JD ]gilbertology bets $400, ^KidPoker folds.SHOWDOWNgilbertology wins $1,060. I'm sure Daniel was tired after a long day and could've played a little better, but in the end I got the cards when it mattered and made some pretty good bets IMO. Daniel, if you want to play me again just for fun, I am always open to a rematch. Maybe I can teach you a few things :club: j/k you are the pro and I got my gameplan from you.

Thanks Gil for not letting the Thieves run away in our division. Guess you're just lucky you got to play that Negreanu guy and not Jayboogie.
