Kings In The Hole Def. Cheap Shot Artists

Recommended Posts

Winning Team: Kings in The HoleLosing Team: Cheap Shot ArtistsWinning Player: NutzbusterLosing Player: Custom36Start Time: 4 PM ESTTotal time played: approx. 30 minutesAnother wild match, but I'm beginning the think that this will be the norm anymore. Again from the get go, it was insane. Much respect to Custom. I know he is very good and I was actually nervous for this match. Apologies for not being able to remember all the hands. Maybe Custom can fill in the details (if he wants to). I started out trying a few things and got thumped very hard by Custom. The cards just hated me for about the first 20 minutes and I was totally on life support. And when I would get a great trap hand Custom sensed it and folded. I seemed to be going nowhere fast, had had enough, and felt like it was time to move. I got a decent hand (can't remember!) and decided to gamble and went all in. Custom thought for a good bit and reluctantly called. By the grace of the Poker Gods my hand held up and just like that, after 20 grueling minutes of eating felt, we were suddenly back at exactly 1500 to 1500.Custom soon had a slight lead again and it stayed like that for a bit, but then the key monster hand came. (Please forgive me again, there is a ton of activity in the house today so I honestly cannot remember the hand!...pathetic)! The short of it was I moved all in again and it held up again and I doubled up HUGE. This hand left Custom with about 85 in chips and dare I say a little p.o'd. A few hands later I put him all in again and it was over.Overall I tried everything I could think of and somehow came out on top.Again, mucho respect to Custom for a very tough match.King in the hole .... on a Roll! :club:

The hand you're thinking of is your J-9 vs my K-7. I had a 14-1 chip lead and put you all in on a 9-7-3 board. After that, it was my Ac 2c vs your Ah Td. We got it all in on a Kc 9h 3c board (it was 50/50 when we got it all in), and you won the coinflip to pull even. Then you (stupidly, in my opinion) went all in with 4-4 vs my AJ. Flop came K-9-9, but you won that one, too. There was another coinflip that killed me too. It's nothing against you, but I'm incredibly competitve and still pretty annoyed that I lost. GL in the future.

I watched the whole match, Nutz, and it was eerily similar to your last win. Early on, a little overly aggressive, and spanked!! lol.... but, nice patience to gear down, and pick your spots. As for the coinflips, well, that's part of heads up poker. I thought most of your plays were good choices, just perhaps unfortunate outcomes for Custom. All that being said, I too was impressed with Custom's play. And Nutz... maybe you should just start out shortstacked, cos you play WAAAYYY better when you're back is against the wall!! Great job, nice winning streak for the team, can't wait to watch you go for three in a row next week!!

lmao...loll...there is a lot of smack talk in the league, but everyone is being a good sport about it...This is the 1st time ive seen one member call another members play stupid...WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? were all competitve, that dosent give you an excuse to call someone elses play stupid. classless.

I'd be glad to discuss the hand with him if he wants me too. Putting it all in with 44 was, in my opinion, a bad play. Regardless of my mood, I'm going to let him know it's a bad play. What's irritating is that you wait for whatever shot you can take at me and everytime I do something you don't like, you jump all over my back for it. Do you have nothing better to do?

i would call anyone out, but i dont think anyone else would call someone elses paly stupid...i could care less what kind of mood you're in...there are 16 losers every week, 1st time ive seen someone call someone elses play stupid.question...who went all in and who called off?

Congrats Nutz, coinflips are part of the game. You obviously thought your 44 was the best hand and you took a shot, thats poker. There are winners and losers every week and sometimes the cards dont work in your favor, thats why heads up is such a good game. In my 1st match (the only loss for Kings in the Hole) I was in Custom36s shoes and took some bad beats but I certainly would not call my opponents playing stupid....I would have called it ballsy though....lol

He said the play was stupid...not the player. And, I'm pretty sure that I watched Daniel call his HU opponent's play stupid this afternoon. When I got knocked out of a protege tournament when HU, I called my opponent's play stupid...didn't mean I wished him ill or anything.

i know what he said, im not saying custom called him stupid, i said custom called his play stupid...sheiky and DN are friends, or at least know eachother, and they were joking around the whole match... different story.

I also feel what Custom said is out of line, if you're friends with someone or at least know them on a personal level, it'd be fine, but in this case it's inappropriate. You should win and lose with class, not whine about your opponent making a "bad" play and getting lucky to beat you. I don't even think Nutzbuster's play was stupid at all. It was perfectly fine, if you play to win, you make that play. If you play not to lose, you don't. Unless your up against someone who only raises premium hands PF in a HU game, which I highly doubt you'll come across much, the play is good and I'd do the same thing. The blinds dictate that you need to put yourself in gambling situations such as coinflips when raises are significant portions of your stack. There is fold equity to be gained by moving in, which makes it correct to do so considering the majority of the time your opponent will fold and you pick up extra chips. Small pairs are not hands to play OOP for raises when HU in NL if it's a significant portion of your stack. A re-raise if called by your opponent puts in a large portion of your chips in a situation where again you are OOP for the rest of the hand with a flop that will certainly contain overcards and it's a guessing game as to whether you have the best hand or not.Regardless he got in with the best hand as a slight favorite and anytime you do that HU, you can hardly call it a bad play. There's also a big difference between putting your chips in there with 44 and calling off your chips with 44.

I won on a coin flip of 66 vs AJo, I guess my play was stupid as well? of course not, just as others have mentioned HU play is all about making moves at the right time. One school of thought would tell me I made a bad play pushing a weak pair, but the other school would say Theresa made a bad play calling a re raise all in with AJo. Point is, there is no right answer in these types of situations. Its all about guts and luck...Custom is definately entitled to his opinion on the play, as we all are...In the end, there is no reason to duke it out online about who's right. This is suppose to be a league of friends (term used loosely of course) having fun playing low stakes HU for $ and bragging rights. *steps off podium*

I don't know how the hand went down, so I can't testify to its intelligence.I'm just saying...he's not being personally insulting. I get my chips in stupidly at times. Strangers are welcome to tell me that.If we're a "league of friends", then there's nothing wrong with critiquing the play. Yeah, maybe there's a nicer way to be critical, but I don't see why custom's so out of line in just being critical.

2nd.I'm brutally honest. That's my style. If you like it, that's cool. If you don't, that's cool too. If OP doesn't like it, I won't critique him anymore. I did it to Cobalt for months when I hung out in strat and I didn't know him. It's all about style.I make no apologies. I mean no ill or disrespect will towards OP.

Wow. Back from Mom's and stuffed to the gills.Yeah, what a match that was today. I played the only way I know how and overall felt it was decent. That's just how I do it. And I was not offended by Custom. He has every right to his opinion. Custom is a very good player and I respect him a great deal. It's competition and it's all good. I also appreciate all the comments of support. Very kind of you guys, thanks.ALL the feedback is great in my opinion, as I feel it can only benefit me as a player. Best of luck to everyone.

I'm pretty sure that Daniel wasn't happy when he lost his controversial FCPHUL game. I seem to recall a lot of criticism involved in that one...if not from Daniel, from other people.

DN was complainig about getting unlucky...the guy that beat DN started a thread about the hand asking for feedback and the hand was discussed in a civilized manner...i understand you want to stick up for your teammate, but im not going to be changing my opinion on the matter...if you dont think there was anything wrong with custom's post, thats fine as well...thats your opinion, and you're entitled to it.GL the rest of the season.

I remembered that...sloshr asked for analysis and I said that he screamed HEEEEHAW when he called the final allin bet on that flop.I ripped his play in a civilized matter, but custom is just stating his opinion.he is not saying that the play WAS an idiotic play..he is saying that it is his opinion that the play was idiotic.Just a brief steam release on Custom's part..

and my opinion is that customs opinion is classless. there are many ways to say it if you want tyo discuss a hand, the fact his he was upset that he lost his 1st game he played and he was venting, lets not forget, custom wasnt the only guy that lost on sunday, there were 14 other losers.GL in your match tonight alf.

I did not call an all-in, I pushed, and I pushed enough chips that he might lay down a medium ace, but unfortunately that was not what he had. Not the greatest play, but not as donkish as you made it sound. Just sayin.Enough from me now, Custom and Vatche can resume their fight. I'm not taking either side on that one.

Sorry about that..I thought Daniel bet, you raised, he pushed and you called. So it was you bet, daniel raised and you pushed?

That's correct. I believe I bet 225 (1/2 pot), he made it 500 and I pushed for around 1300 total (raise of 800).
