The appraiser will always "magically" come back within 2% of the exact number that was mentioned to them by whoever hires them. I've never lost a wallet, phone, or keys. My computer time at home has dropped off a cliff. I don't even use my computer anymore. If I'm not at work, it's very rare for me to be on the internet. I'm basically just on for shopping about once a month or so. I suppose I still check Facebook on my phone, but other than that my habits have totally morphed this year. I'm also down to two shows. I went with blondie to San Antonio a couple weeks ago for a Bon Jovi concert. I was a little disappointed because while I was gone the RTJ/Lorde show was in town. I really wanted to go and post awesome shots from the floor of RTJ just to make napa jealous. The Rolex, due to the market dynamics, will be worth $8k more than I pay, if I can get it at retail. But really, the second I put either of those on my wrist, they lose at least 20%, and there are no guarantees for future consumer preferences and whatnot. Also, probably wise to assume $1k in upkeep every 10 years. They are awful investments. It’s one of those situations where I probably am not serious about it, but if I’m gonna make a purchase like that, it has to be before there’s a female in my life who has veto power.
